City of Oceanside Public Works Department: Maintenance Worker III

Meet Nathan Erb, Maintenance Worker III, who tells us all about his role with the City of Oceanside Water Public Works Department. A Maintenance Worker performs upkeep and repair on machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings. In Nathan’s role you must be able to inspect and diagnose problems and figure out the best way to correct them. A Maintenance Worker III is the advanced journeyman level class within the Maintenance Technician series. This class is distinguished from the Maintenance Technician II by the assignment of the full range of duties and the application of specialized knowledge in the more complex and advanced maintenance work of the Department. This position provides direction to a small crew of Maintenance Workers and receives general supervision from a Public Works Supervisor.
