For those of you that don't read the descriptions I'll make the correction here as well... It's 2cc of lube in the air can. Correctly added. Incorrectly stated... :D Enjoy though! As concise as I could make it...
Fantastic work Phill. Super explained and nicely edited, I hope the forgotten ring is back in place😉. Thanks for sharing and have fun with it. Take care mate and ride on🤙
Hahaha... It's only the sag indicator ring... So it was nothing important... Normally it wouldn't have been an issue, but that yolk can be a right bastard at times! Glad the Spesh did away with them!
@@TrailTales That's good, then. Have you already made stickers of your new logo? If so, I would welcome one of them on my tool wall. Take care and have a nice evening
Hahaha. Yeah... I avoided it for a bit tooooo long... Hence the "suck down". Right when I didn't neet it happening... Which is how things usually go innit...
really nice video. i think i got the gist, even though i generally don't have a lot of clue when it comes to this stuff... so thumbs up to your video making skills 😊
Nice explanation Phil. Servicing my shock is something I've yet to attempt, but experience has shown me that most jobs on a bike can be achieved with the assistance of some foul language and perhaps the odd gashed knuckle!!!
This is a true thing! Being patient with myself is not one of my strong suites... Although I do love the sense of achievement from fixing things myself. :D
Cheers Steve! I did have to cut out a lot of me faffing about, but I wanted a video that was as "to the point" as possible. Didn't want a 20min saga when I feel that a lot of people just want enough info to be able to tackle the job themselves. :D
No risk no fun Phil!! There's nothing like the adrenaline rush of dropping into a trail with the nagging thought of "Did... Did I remember to tighten my pivot bolts?!?" in the back of your head... Fun Fact: I built that HT of mine when my collar bone was broken. The entire thing was built with only my left hand. Now that!!! Was a fun first ride... :D
@@TrailTales Reading between the lines...Besides: Tomorrow I´ll rebuild my CTD shock. Yesterday: way too much booze and one should not do such delicate repairs under such circumstances ;_)
@@TrailTales 2:32 => That black rubber seal was missing in my 803-00-142 kit. The old seal leaks air, so that I can´t put in more than 12 bar. No I have to pay another 30 bucks for material that cost less than 1 buck to produce in Taiwan....And maybe the damper will not even work after that because I don´t really know if it is just the seals.
2:32 => I could not get the rubber seal in there without it being twisted afterwards. I recommend to use the tip of a wooden spoon from McDonald´s to push it to one side, untwist with spoon, hold it there with fingers, then untwist the rest with spoon. Then insert the white rings and ONLY THEN lube it "like you just don´t care" ;_)
That's a solid tip mate! I did struggle a bit to get that ring in there as well... So I'll have to give this tip a try next time it needs a service... :D

Clean, simple and straight forward with a little humor too haha. Killer bro!!

agreed. for some reason, a little bit of foul language here and there is almost always helpful!
