Next time you give them money don't give it out in the public. Wrap it in a news paper or something and give it to them. Because after you give it to them they might get kidnapping and rob.

Poor child...can't even attend school. This breaks my heart so much. I was born in Can Tho but my parents are originally from Hue so this hits home for me. Anyway, I'm glad you're able to find her again and help her out a bit. I'm thankful for the donors as well. I'm not financially well off right now and because I grew up lacking so much, I became quite selfish with my money. I did forked out more than a $100 in the past to help those in need but of course that's nothing. I still feel really selfish. So I wish to change that about myself and make an effort to be more generous this year.

    • @noivongxoang235

This is not a good example at all, it is cruel. USA is 200 times richer than Vietnam but those communist leader from vietnam are 200 times richer than Obama and Clinton. The kid is not a good example at all, because *Vietnamese kids worship their leader for nothing.* So what is there that you think this is a good examples for all the teens to look up to.

Very inspiring work mate. Here's my suggestion if its' not too much work: give the cash in the front cover of an interesting book. Its' a concrete gift that will last & it gives you the option to include your email address so the kids can maybe contact each other in the future. Now thats' a good story-line!

At 6:27 as she shuffled along only turning around briefly to display a smile of jubilation, she was ecstatic from receiving such a large amount of money. I'm only assuming, but in her mind she's probably thinking of how elated her mom and dad will feel when she gives them the money. Most likely, she will not spend the money on herself as most westerners would but rather, she would give the money to her parents.

Because of poverty and those children can make money themselves so they can realize the value of money, don't worry about the money being misused. and do not compare children who have to bear their own birth with children covered by their parents.

Troy, I've been watching your videos recently but this one so far hit me hard. Ti is so innocent looking, I have a niece who is similar in age and manner; I can't imaine my own neice having to walk up and down all day working like this.Very sad video, left me without sleep last night, maybe my new mission in life now is to save these childrens. Please update on Ti and her family. I would love to visit them on my upcoming trip.

The way to really help would be to "pay" them to attend school. Lets say they make $5.00 a day . Pay them maybe $50.. month when she makes it everyday to school and reward good grades with the "goodies/toys etc. Otherwise they will never get off the street. You know the parents just pocketed the money. But your still doing great work. Its humbling for me to watch these people and realize all we take for granted.

This is great Troy, thank you for your service. I was curious if you'd entertain the idea of your subscribers/supporters sending you parcels for the children you help? Like a hat for Thi for example. You could rent a mailbox at a post office of your choosing, then collect and distribute all the gifts anyone would like the children to receive. Please let us know what you think, and thanks again.

+Damien Lee Thanks for the suggestion. But it'd be just more cost effective to buy things here.

I think a lot of times these kids probably see buying things for themselves like a hat as an indulgence when it could be used for food, thanks for doing these vids Troy, fellow Aussie here, I note you have not uploaded for awhile so hope all is well with you. I would love to donate if you are making a trip back over there so I will keep an eye out for any new vids.

@@Thyalwaysseek you're definitely right, especially with what troy said about these kids having zero self pity. they won't realize the horrible effects of basking in the sun 8hrs a day everyday, when a hat can really make such a difference but they won't spend money on it.

Keep up the good work, Troy, a recommendation to your response during this video regarding making a list of few people that should receive contributions. I believe that for the young kids like the Ben Thanh kids you have to take down their information so you can follow through a bit more easier rather than relying on a miracle (when Duyen found you in the dark when you were looking for little Linh). I still believe a little contribution here and there to a small group of children will help tremendously so please continue to give to those Ben Thanh kids when you can, I am not sure if you had given any to Duyen but if not please do it when you have the next opportunity. Thank you so much for your efforts in doing this and hope everyone can support you on Patreon.

Just want to share my thoughts.
