    Thank you, man. I have been drinking for 15 years. The first 10 years was a social drinking but passed 5 years ago, and I have become a daily drinking. And Covid makes me extremely alcoholic. Drank every single day from morning to night. Now, I've been sober for 48 hours. But I realise how difficult it is to recover from this alcohol. Definitely, I will make it happen. Wish me luck guys.❤❤

    Drinking does ruin your sleep patterns, (quality), and feeling like crap isn't any fun either. Weight gain, waste of money, and hurts your self esteem. Most of all, being a slave to anything is a great reason to quit doing that thing.

  • @Roycebond47
    @Roycebond47 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    I sustained for a bit (broke a record), then told myself.... "oh its time to celebrate my record breaking victory!" Which was only 2 weeks. Of course one beer turned into missed days at work and just a complete nasty, dark spiral. Im back on the journey, alcohol is a TRAP. I felt so much better when I was sober, was going to the gym, had more self confidence, and didn't feel like utter sh*t at work the next day. This video explains the lies about alcohol perfectly!

    Day 11. Drove 2 1/2 hours to pick up cash at casino last night for casino slot online winnings. Told “come anytime.” Arrived at window at 8:00 pm. Manager picked up phone, said they are gone for the day. Have to pick it up at Sports Book window between 8:00 am, 8:00pm”. Arguing about false information given useless. Fuming, went for steak dinner, walking past cases of personalized wine boxes for “esteemed guests.”
    Had nice filet with lobster bisque, and scallops. Drank one ice tea, drove home dog tired as wife had to work 7:00 am. 11th day, I got this.

    I got 11 days with no drinks at all, and tonight I'm getting drunk... The boredom got me , and I said to my self I'll have 2 beers and I'm at 6th now! Yay me... even thought I'll still try to get away from this poison. Wish me luck guys!
    I honestly felt so much better after even 11 days, and now I'm back at squire one again... I've been thinking about joining AA? It's a full blown dependency is what I now know. It sucks being dependent so much on beer at 27...

      Are you bored or dependent on the drug. 27 years old - join a local fight club, get addicted to something more positive - when beer affects your recovery you may think differently. Quite often alcohol is there because something is missing

    Thanks for your videos, I need these in my life right now.
    I have had very bad social and general anxiety now since I can remember, and that transitioned into a heavy hitting depression in my adult years. Simple tasks the general population dont give a second thought to are very challenging for me and have felt impossible in the past. I am 24 and been drinking heavily since 18. I have also been on anti depressants since the age of 18 and in and out of therapy and counselling for all my issues. I now have a job which is great as i got to the point where I couldn't leave the house. I genuinely have falsely used alcohol as my crutch when it isnt to "cope" even though its created some major issues. Every house party I've been too, I easily did a bottle of vodka or gin without giving it a second thought. Every night out I've been on has resulted in me blacking out and not remembering anything, and this drinking even got to the point where it was an everyday thing (in smaller doses) at home.
    Sorry to vent but thanks for your videos and it's time for me to make a change and get out of this limbo.

    This is the first day. I am hungover. I believe alcohol to be poisin and nothing more. I too have developed social escape/anxiety. Work has become phobic. It's tough I know. I already go to the gym. It helps. If I'm not more resonsible I'm going to lose the job. I have a genetic disorder/chromosone damage which also comes with ADD and Bi-Polar disorder. Alchol came into my life in my senior year of High School. I felt different and alcohol allowed me to blend...except for the next day. Thank you coach. I have employed the meditation. I really want to come back here a week from today and be able to say like Rocky "yo I did"!

    Listening to you is joyous but did you know some people suffer low mood/ low dopamine up to a year, now I'm not saying your depressed all the time and certainly not as depressed as you were when drunk, but the brain takes at least 3 months to recover

    • @Norton1531
      @Norton1531 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I disagree. When I did a month off, after 2 weeks 'not drinking' became the norm. The first two weeks were a bit of a battle, but after two weeks I'd got myself into a routine that didn't involve booze and it just became a thing that what I was doing that day/night didn't involve drinking.

    Hi Simon, my drinking triggers are just me at home in the kitchen etc etc. Never been a pub goer, only when I was in my early 20’s.
    And we’re now in the 2nd lockdown home is where we have to be. I’m 56 with a family.......just! Husband naturally at his wits end and wants to divorce. My one massive positive is my group of Christian friends where we meet up virtually each weekday for an hour and pray!
    Any other practical tips , especially I naturally isolate would be appreciated. Many thanks!

    • @besober
      @besober 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nickie, Yes, I was very much the same, where I would enjoy to drink from the comfort of my home rather than a pub. It is fantastic that you have a support network with your Christian friends. I know it is extremely difficult, but with us all having to spend more time indoors, it is critical that you fill that time with other things to occupy your mind from having a drink. Have you downloaded the first ten chapters of my book? It's completely free and comes straight into your inbox and should help give you some extra ideas for sobriety - besober.co.uk/ We also have a fantastic support network on our free Facebook group - facebook.com/groups/1960061840706240

      It is an interesting question, each country has specific guidelines - however, I think if you can see that the amount you are drinking is rising (how much do you drink now compared to say 5 years ago?) and feel anxious at the thought of not drinking then it is probably time to look at making a change.
