    This is great info thank you. I've been looking to do a heat extractor for right behind my radiator on my 2015 Fiesta right in the middle of the hood.

    could i cut the back of the hood from one side to the other? a definitive opening instead of lifting the rear. Or would it be better to just cut the central part?

    I have a 2019 ram 1500 classic, old style, it has the shutters front rad, by installing these leavers would it interfere with the shutters in front of rad?

      The shutters in front of the rad are there to regulate airflow which helps with drag and fuel mileage, adding louvers to the hood wont effect the shutters and will help still help with heat.

    Awesome work! Congratulations!

    The positive pressure on the ducted system will make the air more dense. Dense air cools better. Possibly negate the reduced air flow effect on cooling. Exhalent video, thanks.

    Thx

      No, raising the back of the hood hurts cooling and downforce

      @@racelouvers7958 he is sure ? Are all dragracers in Brazil wrong to do this?

      @@eltonv8tao Yes raising the back of the hood for cooling is not recommended. While raising the back of the hood does help vent heat slightly only when the car is not moving. Once the car starts to move the high pressure air from the cowl area goes into the engine bay raising the pressure in the engine bay and on the back of the radiator which hurts radiator cooling. Since the main cooling of any car is the radiator and most cooling is needed when the car is moving raising the back of the hood hurts cooling. Plus raising the back of the hood creates front end lift which is bad at high speed.

      @@racelouvers7958 cowl induction would not be good for refrigeration from what i understand. Would it be good for aerodynamics? or would it only serve to accommodate big turbos, big engines?

    • @racelouvers7958
      @racelouvers7958  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@eltonv8tao having the back of the hood or cowl area open to the engine bay creates drag and front lift, not good.
