    This was a Free concert, the last concert for all 7 members performing together... BTS was asked to perform a concert to promote Busan's bid for the World Fair (Jimin and JK are from Busan) Part of what makes this Additionally heartfelt, is that all the members knew that they would be enlisting in the military within the year... they announced taking a break from group activities to rest and work on solo projects, while plotting out a way to have the members back together in 2025

      The song is not specifically about Sewol. The music video does definitely reference the tragedy but the song is more universal, dealing with the grief of separation from family and the loss of friendship.

    The music video for this song is full of symbols about the Sewol Ferry disaster. It was brave of BTS because the children died because of governmental corruption, whose lack of orders kept the coast guard on stand by, after rescuing the captain and crew they were not ordered back for the children though the ship sank really slowly. They blockaded civilians trying to rescue them though some made it past and rescued some. Then the coastguard slit the hoses of the civilian divers wanting to get the kids out of the airlocks. They could see them moving behind the glass. If you want the whole despicable story that brought down a government watch ITALIAN ARMY SPRING DAY. its alot of reading but compelling viewing. When BTS made this they were not the big stars they are now and their company was slowly building up from near bankruptcy but they donated 100,000 to the families who needed to fight to learn the truth as news and commentary were being suppressed.

    Hi dear. 68yo Army here. While the song is about missing a loved one the video is about the Sewol Ferry tragedy where over 300 people...most students on a school field trip....drowned when the ferry overturned and sunk. There is an explanation video by Italian Army that goes into detail.

    There are people confusing the song with the music video. It’s sad to me that a great song worth talking about in its own right becomes a little lost in the understandable but separate importance of its video.
    The song is about the grief of separation from family and loved ones, and the loss of friendship.
    RM began writing sitting in a park in autumn, watching leaves fall and thinking about the family and friends he had left behind when he moved to Seoul to chase his musical dreams. Suga is almost certainly writing from the same emotional place as his song ‘Dear My Friend’, which is addressed to a close friend from his youth who he lost to drugs and prison.
    The official music video is something else. It takes that universal sense of loss and uses symbolic imagery to address a specific and terrible national tragedy and scandal with passion and anger, and finally hope.
    This performance was at their free concert in Busan in October 2022. The following day it was announced that Jin was beginning his military enlistment process, so they knew it would be their last group concert for a few years.
    The stage was huge because they were only using half the capacity of the stadium, for safety reasons, so they included props and symbols representing some iconic songs, including this train and the carousel from the Spring Day video. The stadium audience was 50,000 and there were about another 20,000 watching on screens outside. The live online audience was 50 million, which crashed the servers.

      Thank you for taking the time to write this comment. Also appreciate the accuracy of the information.
      As a Korean, I would like to add how daring it was for bts to link their song to any criticism of the govt. korea is a democracy but culturally the majority of citizens do not criticize or even scrutinize authority. These boys are such special people.

    • @KootchLB
      @KootchLB 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@hae-limminus1972 I think BTS were blacklisted by the Korean president when this song and the mv were released? Part of the cover-up was that artists and creatives were not even allowed to mention the ferry disaster so you're absolutely right - BTS showed a lot of courage to create the mv with its symbolism and images alluding to themes of the powerful who flourish at the expense of the helpless.

    • @KootchLB
      @KootchLB 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, even people who react to the song get caught up in the tragedy alluded to in the mv and overlook the actual lyrics of the song. There are at least a couple of reactors who were so emotionally touched by the mv that they didn't go on to the live performance. A pity, because the live performance, especially the original ones in 2017, was one of the most beautiful work that BTS has done. BTS creates multiple layers in their music - the song's lyrics can resonate differently with people, depending on their own circumstances. When Covid hit, BTS included "Spring Day" in all their performances and you can see how poignant it was for them when they performed it in Busan because they already knew that in two days they would announce their intention to enlist. That close-up of Jin at the end still hits hard.
      One way we can perhaps alleviate the confusion is by drawing a parallel with, say, "Awake". The short film "Awake" presents images that are part of the BU storyline. The SONG "Awake" is about Jin's doubts and fears about not being good enough and, at the same time, his determination to keep striving and taking care of the six flowers (the members) that he holds tightly in his hand (i.e., takes care of as their hyung).
      Hope that helps. Thank you for your efforts to clarify the differentiation between mv and song. The Queen deserves all the love and thoroughly merits being in the charts for seven years now.

    Please also watch the music video for this song. It holds a very special spot in many Korean’s hearts since it is related to a tragic disaster that occurred in 2014 when a ferry filled with passengers, many of whom were young students, capsized and sank off the coast of South Korea. 304 passengers passed away and 250 of them were children. They were told to stay put and not move while the captain and the majority of the crew abandoned the ship (a small number of them were heroes that refused to go and tragically died trying to save lives)! The Korean Coast Guard, the government and everyone involved did nothing during the situation, and parents are still fighting for justice to this day. The song is the longest charting Korean song in the country’s history, spending 7 years as of now and every year it always rises.
    Please watch the song’s music video and the mandatory explanation afterwards, “What you still don’t know about BTS Spring Day” by Italian ARMY. Love your reactions to BTS and I hope you’ll also get to watch their music videos at some point!

    so true it´s a BTS specialty i have seen other groups trying to transition into hit hop or change the beat of a song. but what end up happing is they change to music of the original song that it sounds like 4 different songs in one.
    and that is just confusing listening to. but BTS is just the best at it. they are so smooth and the rappers is so good they produce themself and they know how they need to rap to make it work. one song they really doubt would work was butterfly. because it was originally a vocal line song but they transformed into a 7 member song nd the change was just amazing even better than it was.

    Every I hear Spring Day it brings me to tears due to the connection to the Seoul Ferry Incident where over 200 children and their teachers died because the crew of the ferry told them to stay below decks and wait for assistance while they all escaped leaving the children and teachers to die. The song itself was about one of the members missing his old friend but it became very much part of the South Korea's reminder of those lost children. It was due to corruption and it lead to the their President being arrested for her part in the corruption. The MV has many reference to the Seoul incident.

    This was at BTS' last group concert together before Jin and then the rest of them enlisted in the S. Korean mandatory military. The day after this concert (which was Free) they announced Jin's enlistment (he's the oldest in the group). Also, this has been on the charts in S. Korea for ages! It holds a deeper meaning than you know and BTS doesn't talk about it as it's pretty heart-wrenching and angering too, and political. However, the song is written like so many of theirs to hold different meanings. I think you should watch the MV and also the Explained by Italian Army video for the MV, even if you can't react to it on the channel. From this same concert, can you do "RUN BTS" or "MIC DROP & RUN BTS" - they were the 2 opening songs and they are high energy. This was the first time (and probably the last time) BTS ever performed their song "RUN BTS" (not to be confused with their earlier song "Run" (which was actually the 3rd song they performed at this concert).
    Thanks for listening to more BTS. I never liked rap or hip/hop either until BTS came along (and theirs is the only rap I listen to now).

    It was quite a while before I could hear this song and not cry after I’d watched the video explaining how BTS bypassed the government censorship that prohibited people from talking about the disaster-by making a video that used symbols to powerfully commemorate the lives lost and the sorrow of their loved ones left behind. Incredible work, heroic work.
    They donated a full one-third of their income that year to support the surviving parents, and told no one about it.
    Word got out when BTS were being criticized by some low life people for trying to benefit from the disaster with the music video, instead of trying to help everyone grieve. A family member who was helped by their donation spoke up, because he was sick of seeing them get attacked for doing a good thing.
    The truth finally all come out, the government was toppled, and BTS were a guiding light for so many. Heroic.💜

By transition from hip-hop to another genre, do you mean the hand-overs from the rappers to vocalists and vice versa? I think BTS have long ago transcended genre labels and when they make music, they present a whole cohesive song. Yes, their hand-overs have been so smooth and seemingly effortless from their earliest performances. I hope you continue to enjoy BTS and their work.

    Agnes' dad, this is a sad song that hasn't left the Korean charts since it was released 7 years ago. RM and Suga wrote it about missing close friends (see also Suga/AgustD's "Dear My Friend"). The music video alludes to the 2014 Korean tragedy of the Sewol ferry sinking that resulted in the loss of 304 lives including 250 high school students on a school trip. The sinking was caused by incompetence in many areas including the government at the time. That government tried to stigmatise the bereaved families and suppress any criticism so this song was risky for BTS. Ultimately ublic pressure got the president impeached and imprisoned along with others involved in the disaster.
    This performance is the last live concert as a group before they started preparing for their mandatory military service. The way they are sitting in the beginning is reminiscent of a scene from the MV. Because they knew that they wouldn't be all together with ARMY for a while you can see that the guys were very emotional.

    Awww. I like your review. I think their transitions are incredibly smooth too. Thanks for continuing your journey. Just want to say... this song gets a lot of hype about being a song about the Sewol Ferry Tragedy. And while I am thankful the song brought awareness of the event to me and countless others, this song was written 3 years after and they have said multiple times it wasn't written about that. Suga wrote it about a friend who had died and RM wrote it about the friends he lost along the way of pursuing his musical journey and wondering if there would ever be a day they could find each other again. Anyway, I always had a hard time making this fit into the Ferry tragedy conversation. And when I learned it wasn't about that, it made more sense to me. It feels like a song of longing to be reunited and that can be with those loved ones who have passed or others you may have to wait a long time to see again. That's why they sang this as their next to last song for ARMY before enlisting in the ARMY. Music can be and mean different things to different people. And the documentary on the Ferry tragedy is really worth watching and incredible to learn about. I am glad this song brings comfort to those involved in that who need it! This song is full of such longing and sincerity.

    You've head this before, it was the last song for their tiny desk concert. But to be honest them singing it there vs. here, at their last concert together before enlisting, saying goodbye to ARMY, asking us to wait for their return - it's a completely different song. What you saw at the start was a railroad car on stage (a railroad car is a part of the official video for this song.) This was a free concert in Busan as mentioned before, but it was also broadcast free to millions of people worldwide

    That train carriage is on the stage along with their School bus from another MV. That Stage is massive and it's the Busan City Yet to Come Concert which they did for free after their government asked if they do a concert for South Koreas Bid to hold the World EXO Trade Exhibition. However there was some issue's with the original site some problems with the city's official so BTS and their company HYBE/BigHit ended up saying no to the site and fixing the Stadium up in stead and paying for everything. The gave his concert for Free and even put a live stream of it on huge monitors on the beach at Busan City. Plus it was live streamed worldwide. I watched it on the live stream and then again months later at the cinema.

    I think what you’re trying to say about the transitions is that they transition from vocalists to rappers well. They don’t really transition between musical genres during a song??? I agree that the transitions are really well done. It’s one of the things that makes them really special.

But you have to promise you know them all. I look for your reactions every evening now, so send out a clue.

    As many have mentioned there is a italian explanation video on some of the hidden meanings that are in the mv, I have also seen a other video that also have a lot of explanation and theories of some of the things in the mv that the italian one doesn’t mention or don’t go in depth on from bulletproof vibes. A suggestion is to watch both of them they are really well done. The group have never confirmed any of the theories and speculations about this mv, the reason can be of the sanctions that celebrities that supported the victims and their families got from the government. It’s rare to see any celebrities talk about the Sewol ferry disaster, I have seen one with Zico from Block B talking with a friend on the Celeb Bros but only references it in passing.

    50 MILLiON people (probably whole families too) signed in to watch this FREE live concert in October of 2022. So the stadium in Busan had 50,000, and the rest of the world watched in whatever time zone they were in. Welcome to BTS!!
    This song has deep meaning about a tragedy in Korea caused by government corruption. 304 people died, 250 were highschool students. Because of potential backlash, RM and Suga at the time wrote it about their personal feelings of loss. I strongly suggest you watch the real video, and then the Italian ARMY Spring Day documentary which is very difficult, emotionally.. It's 17+ minutes long and MUTE the sound - the Italian female voice is a complete distraction!
    The train as a set is because it was in the Spring Day video, and so it does seem weird here. This was their last concert before military, ARMY didn't know at the time Jin was leaving, but in the concert the stage has many of the large pieces from their videos so you'd be really wondering, what the heck?
    BTS has the main group of 7, which mixes a little bit of hip-hop, a llttle bit of vocal, depending. Earlier their career they leaned toward hip-hop, then grew and expanded their repertoire. But the combination was pioneering. There is also the vocal line, and the rap line. As I get to know you, my tastes are similar, tending toward the quieter songs, but over time I've learned to love it. When the lines are separate, they are only live. Vocal line songs are House of Cards (in Japan), The Truth Untold, Zero O'Clock, Butterfly. And of course in solos all the guys are different.

    First time I heard this song I thought it was nice. Now I hear the song and I cry.
    This song is so special that it's still on the charts in Korea 7-8 years later.
    I don't know how to convince you to do an explanation video but listening to it is a fraction of what this is about. The song is about loss and grief but everyone agrees the video is about Sewol. Do the explanation by Italian Army, you'll be charged forever I promise 🙏💜 no need to turn on CC's, they're integrated:

    My dude, I'm loving your content. Fresh and new is always of interest. Words of WARNING though. I hope you see this enough to address the situation so we can feel better that we are gonna continue to provide us with fun content.
    Btw: I just saw you comment on that Jin video touching on this subject. I bring this subject up, not to be nasty, but to help because I really really love your videos. So please don't hate me lol. You were seeing idiots being rude for no reason. The pausing is related to copyright avoidance. You said the girl has 80k and is 6 months. She's skating that line because her popularity is going up. Whew, she's brave.
    I wasn't sure at first if you were being paid for views. BUT! Please make sure you absolutely avoid the official music videos. Don't let ppl persuade you.
    Bighit / Hybe are going bananas on reactions that contain their monetized content. They can demonetize your channel for three years with no warning.
    Make sure you are super, extra educated on TH-cam's copyright infringement policies. Watch other reaction channels. You'll see how they break up content so as not get in trouble.
    Basically if we can watch their stuff uninterrupted they will consider that as theft.
    Maybe you know what you're up to but smaller channels can get overlooked. However your content is rising up the algorithm. So eventually they will be knocking on your virtual door and analyzing your content.
    Ok so, maybe you aren't profitting on your videos and its a hobby. You're all set then. 😊
    I def started to freak out though on the fullscreen reaction you did. I was like no no nooo omg no. Lol. Fullscreen uninterrupted is def top of the list. It has to be interrupted quite frequently it seems.
    I'm not a TH-camr so I'm prob wrong about a few things. I love what you are doing here. I think you are awesome. And that's why I'm concerned enough to type out this -book-, lol. Just... make sure you check what the larger channels do to not get demonetized. It'd make me feel better.

    • @AgnesIsMyDog
      @AgnesIsMyDog  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment, as for being monetized, NO, I am not, They all get marked "Ineligible" . As for the full screen video, that was to see the reactions on the ARMY if they would prefer it that way, Bad decision. Thanks for your support.

    • @FaydraGirl
      @FaydraGirl 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AgnesIsMyDog ohhhh. Then you are fine as long as you avoid official videos you should be good to go. People are gonna continue requesting it, just ignore them.
      Seriously it was never this bad. Hybe has become militant on percieved thefts literally right as the rest of the boys left. Coincidence? Idk. I mean they were even having fan art physical installations removed. I'm frustrated as all hell. Channels keep dropping off my favorites list, videos are going missing. What next? Come to your house and give you a spanking, lol.
      Correct me if I'm wrong but if you are reacting to concert videos and various accessible content and you aren't monetized, I don't think you have to do any pausing shenanigans. Unless its preventing the blocking, idk.
      I would like to support your channel. I can't say it here cause I think it blocks me but if you set up an acct on... p@tr&0n... lol I mangled that. Let us know. Because if you aren't monetized your loyal viewers would love to provide a little extra support 🥰 ok ill shup now ahahaha.
      Just... please don't go away. I really love watching uninterrupted, except to comment, no bull, concert footage with you. Its a lot of fun :) You rock!

      @FaydraGirl 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AgnesIsMyDog I'm super embarassed because I didn't know what to do and I love you being here. I wasn't sure if I should even bring it up. I been feeling pretty bad about it. I really hope I didn't upset you. Trust me, if I take the time to type out a message like that means I love what you are doing.
      I'm so exited to go along the bts journey with you! Your Wembley, young forever reaction was so authentic and beautiful that I was brought to tears. Thank you for this gift.
