  • A Beautiful Science fiction Ballad that is full of passion and wonderment, but also some melancholy. I really enjoyed listening to this. I love the way the melody rises and lilts. There is a profundity in this music that I didn't realize Stellaris would have.

Stellaris is an amazing game. It’s a 4X. It’s a little tricky to learn at first but it’s so fun once you learn how to play. You can play how almost any way you want. You build your own empire and set out across the stars to expand your empire. You can either help the galaxy, rule it, or destroy.

    I gotta say...
I didn't expect this game to show up on your channel
    But I'm glad it did
I'm sorry for my long comment but I gotta share my experience with this game.
So first of all. I always loved space. The endless nothingness in which there are so many beautiful things you can see and explore.
And because of that I instantly fell in love with this game.
Although it was a rough journey to actually learn how to play it I enjoyed every single second of it.
This game provides so many tools of creating your own perfect civilization that you can bring to glory among the stars.
Also it has this wonderful system of exploration. In some systems of starts you will find secrets and if you explore them more you can read through mini story of your scientists figuring it out. It maybe some ancient temple or an weird object flying in space.
There are so many of these mini stories are in this game that it basically becomes a book about your empire and scientists exploring the unknown.
And I love it. ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH IT.
Also while expanding your civilization, researching new technologies, expanding your cosmic fleet and overall influence on the galaxy you will at some point reach a level of power when your civilization will be able to create MEGASTRUCTURES.
It is exactly what it sounds like. Massive structures that will provide MASSIVE impact on the game.
And one of them is the Dyson Sphere. A massive structure that surrounds a Star and is capable of creating an incredible amount of energy.
The means to build this massive machine are just absurd when you are only a beginner at this game. You look at the cost and you start to sweat.
And it takes literally YEARS to create it and multiple stages until it's fully operational.
And once you do manage to build this Megastructure.....
    Oh...
The first time you do it is just mind blowing.
You look at this magnificent creation that defies all logic and you feel this wonderful feeling of accomplishment...
    Yeah...
I love this game and I'm glad that you gave a listen to it.
It has a beautiful soundtrack indeed.
Obviously at some point this feeling of wonder kind of disappears
As you get more better at the game some things that were just insane for you become more manageable.
    But still
The incredible feeling of exploring the wonders of the universe never truly leaves you
    At least for me
    Thank you for your time)
    Have a blessed day

Stellaris is truly one of its kind. Almost all strat games make you focus on survival or domination. But in stellaris i just roleplay in singleplayer, and build a story. I don't even care if i win or lose to ai, as long as my species lives and dies following its beliefs and or virtues.

  • @luxferrer7324

There was one point I love when talking about music in Stellaris and Paradox interactive games: the game always plays the correct music at the correct time, not necessary the best music or the most original music I have ever heard, but the correct one. In early game from Stellaris they play music that is deep and mysterious, and changes to battle games in late games fighting dangerous aliens. In other games, like CK3 or HOI4, you can hear music from different countries depends on which of them you are playing or fighting.
My favorite piece of Stellaris music is from the Aquatics DLC, when they actually covered a ship song and made it into the game, with muscular dolphin singing in their MV. That's the moment I found the game not only presented a map for us to fill with color, but also performed a space opera for us to read.

By far my favorite music piece from Stellaris is the main theme for the DLC Synthetic Dawn, but they're all great. Oh man, how did I miss this. Stellaris is one of those games that you don't play often, but every time you come back to it you log 20+ hours. Essentially, you control a civilization as you explore the galaxy, and you can choose to make allies, subjugate everyone, engage in espionage, pursue alien technology, make pacts with ancient beings, etc. There are tons of events and stories to discover, and once the base game feels boring, there are infinite community mods to play with new technology, stories, themes, and gameplay elements. The modding community is truly something special. Stellaris is made for a niche audience for sure, but I love it and always find myself playing a campaign every few months.

They are: Assembling the Fleet form the Leviathan expansion, Towards Utopia form the appropriately named Utopia DLC, Then Comes Light from the Apocalypses DLC it is your choice as to what you make of the title whether hopeful or doomed, Hidden Motives form the MegaCorp DLC it sounds so sinister, Super Massive Fleet from the Nemesis DLC the feeling from this whole expansion pack is I am the senate!

Did not expect to see this game here! Im a bit burnt out on it after being involved in the (extensive) modding scene for awhile, but the OST undoubtedly is a joy. It takes some time to learn but its lovely.

Since you're doing Paradox games, I suggest Crusaders Kings 3 main theme (The Dynasty), Charge of the Knights or Knights of Jerusalem.

This is either something that is said by the community or it's the game's official tagline (I can't remember) but as an opposite to one other saying ("The universe is dark and full of horrors") Stellaris's is "The universe is bright and full of wonders."

Andreas Waldetoft - Genius about Game Soundtracks. The Stellaris Soundtrack is the best of all soundtracks that he do. Has a huge influence from Interstellar, maybe by accident. But in the end, almost everything from this Soundtrack and the DLCs are awesome. Deep space travel or Birth of a Star are for my opinion the best Tracks.

This game is amazing. Soundtrack is S tier. It is my favorite of the many amazing soundtracks from Paradox games. Crusader Kings 2 (and 3) has some really wonderful tracks too (with a more Renaissance background). Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron 4... so many titles have outstanding soundtracks that completely fit the theme and help create the experience.
If you haven't already seen it or reacted to it, this is a lovely live studio orchestral performance of a song from Stellaris that captures the feeling of a civilization just stepping out into the unknowns of deep space, and then expanding, conquering, dying, etc:
"Stellaris | Creation and Beyond - Full Orchestra Session and Music Video"
^ You've maybe already reacted to it or shared it with one of your guests. New here. I love watching the musicians making this amazing music happen.
P.S. I love that you clearly resonated with this song and you "get it." This is a great song from Stellaris to react to. Just from how you grasp what the music and lyrics are doing, I feel like you totally understand the experience that is Stellaris (and how some of the best games Paradox makes create a sense that you are actually experiencing the setting, the events, the frontier of space, or feudal europe, or colonial power struggles, or all out world war)
P.P.S. I certainly hope you've checked out "Faster Than Life" as well, both the vocal and non-vocal version. Just remember... to embrace the worm because WHAT WAS, WILL BE; WHAT WILL BE, WAS

Stellaris is one of the best 4X RP space games out there, probably the only one even. This and many other astoundingly beautiful tracks play in a selectable music player throughout your galactic conquest/unification. In Stellaris you can build your own space faring empire or choose a premade empire to edit, with options to be xenophobic, materialist, pacifist, militarist and more. The DLCs offer many great things like megastructures to discover, massive space leviathans to kill, and federations between empires to be formed. One of my favorites is Synthetic Dawn, allowing you to create a synthetic machine empire. Through the game's origin system, you can choose how your empire came to be, offering either buffs or a determined fate for your empire, for a synthetic empire you can get a unique origin describing that it killed it's own creators through means you can write up yourself with a built in text box for your species' lore.
So you can basically RP as Skynet winning the war against humans going on to conquer the galaxy, and that's pretty fucking cool.

I love stellaris, personally my favourite theme is apocalypse's main theme doomsday (atleast I think that's what it's called), something about it just gives me chills, the opening gives me the feeling of the calm before the storm, of a brief period of peace before the coming war, then the build up begins and you get the sense of an inevitability, a war you know is coming yet you can do nothing to stop, then the build up ends and what we are left with perfectly encapsulates the feeling of a rising threat that you need to do everything to stop, whenever I hear it I just imagine rapidly selecting fleets in some vain attempt to stop an enemy wielding firepower beyond anything my ships can muster, God I love this game

I'm biased, but Paradox Development Studios' games following Stellaris really nail the atmospheres they are set in. Stellaris with its sci-fi orchestration, the majestic arrangements of Crusader Kings 3 (The Dynasty, The Crusade Begins and Scandinavia - Choir Version) and the uplifting score of Victoria 3 (Rule the World and Glory to the Queen).

Also may I suggest you give a listen to the old Rama game soundtrack? It is relatively (a lot) obscure adventure game from Sierra, from the 90s, based on Arthur C. Clarke's & Gentry Lee's Rama book series. That soundtrack is still with me a solid 30 years later.
