An extraordinary gift by all measures. I have looked for this tv film since 1974! Very timely given The King's Speech. Tremendously grateful for your post!
This is my favorite béatiful man. I love this beauty.i wish meet a man such him.inchallah i love this man. I love you Richard chamberlain. I wish meet a man such him.👑That. Is any. One. Such. Him. in a world👋🎓💝💟
The captions are so bad, it's actually comical. Someone mentioned that Faye Dunaway got Wallis' look down pat, but she could never have looked exactly like her; she is/was far prettier. From what I've read (and I've read a lot), Wallis probably was more attractive than her photos show (I know that's possible because I'm pretty ordinary lookin but I photograph like a gargoyle). It was more than her looks but also her personality that attracted people to her. Some people found her brash and coarse; other people, like Edward 8th, found those same qualities refreshing; it was a nice change for him to be talked to like an ordinary person instead of being bowed and kowtowed to because of his royal status. Anyway, that's my take on it.
I've watched this as a child....i fell in love with it..the King who abdicated because of love...but the new revelations by Wallis' letters destroyed everything I knew about W AND E. What a waste!!
Interestingly, Wallis's letters to her ex-husband Ernest that were published later showed clearly that she actually was in love with her husband not with Edward. she was reluctant to marry Edward after he abdicated as she lost her chance to become queen
Does anybody know where can I buy this film "the woman i loved" w/ Chamberlain on DVD please? i've been searching for this film for such a long time!...
This movie was fluff making Edward to be a sympathetic character. Actually, he met with Hitler shortly after abdication and during the war gave the Germans information that helped them take Paris quickly. He then was more concerned about some of their personal items they had to leave behind in Paris than the genuine suffering that was taking place there. Hitler had planned, if he had conquered Great Britain, to re-install Edward as a puppet king.
I think Wallis Simpson would have looked a lot prettier if she didn't have such a severe hairstyle. She was never going to be beautiful but a more natural style would be more flattering on her.
I'm fascinated with the Royal Family! I'd watch this in a hot minute! The character Richard Chamberlain is playing was very handsome too.
Richard Chamberlain !!!!! Beautiful !!!!! and Dunaway !!!!!

nahhh, i think, ....not as he was gayyy
Dunaway looks so much like the Duchess in this series. She really has the angular looks down pat. Richard Chamberlain is fantastic as always!
La qualità del video è pessima, ma la bellezza di Chamberlain colpisce come un pugno allo stomaco!
The theme from "Imitation of Life (1959)" is used here. I wonder why.

Interesting, two years later Chamberlain and Faye would appear in The Towering Inferno together
And also The Three Musketeers (and its spin-off The Four Musketeers). Love Chamberlain and Dunaway, they class up anything they appear in.
Where can I see this movie?
I would like to see the film, as well.
I cannot find this anywhere ! Anyone have a copy not even the BFI have it!
fanaccount100, please, tell me when can I find this movie "The Woman I love (1972)" with Richard Chamberlain in good quality?
