im having difficulty recognizing the pieces,,,i am a chess club player.. yesterday i just learned how to play shogi and amazed that this game is far more complicated than chess....all i have to do now is to familiarize the shogi pieces so that i can follow your videos...
Incredible game! I could have sworn Maruyama was in the better position until Gouda began his brilliant attack. I was thinking of S*1b already when Gouda dropped the rook. It's nice to hear the music again.
10:52 isn't a mate; the King can run to 4A, making a gold drop check possible but not a drop mate (since Black has no more pieces in hand). After clearing off the pieces White would actually be in a better position with a mobile king against an empty handed opponent.
If white King to 4A, black plays Gold drop on 5B check. That forces white King to 3A. Then black pawn to 2C promotion. White cannot defend multiple mate threats.
@hidetchi Please post more videos! I loved this channel! So sad to see it end.
amazing game, this almost makes the greatest sacrificial chess games look like child's play, and i'm a chess player. excellent commentary as well!
don't sleep on the Nezhmetdinov queen sac like that lol
I miss this series quite a bit. Been waiting for another video. Thanks Hidetchi-san!

Great attack. I like this new idea of central rook, I think I have used it by coincidence hehe. Thanks for teaching me for one more time ; )
Unbelievable sacrifices
amazing
Just curious but what is the name of the beautiful music in the background?
Did you ever find it?
