    The problem was a black mark on the super IO, it didn't like it, it felt ugly and so refused to work.....you removed it and made it happy again :)

    Sometimes the only u need to fix it is to clean the leakage on startup chip 😆😆😆... Just joking.
    I have the same old laptop from 2007 upgraded to maximum and works perfect until now because of its simplicity.
    Many admirations to Sorin , one of the best technicians & teachers !!!

    Had electronic washing machine that after 3 months, it didnt work right and even resetting it and all that per the manual, the hot water wouldnt come on and i emptied it and all that in case of unbalanced and still not work and just the barrel would turn a little and it was really weird. A tech arrived the next day and he turned it on and it worked?? and its worked for another 6 months flawlessly! So intermittent electronics can be a real headache, as what if its needed in a life saving role and has to work? Imagine the Apollo flights in deep space with dodgy "Acer" hardware? haha. Actually i have had a number of Acer monitors and they all worked perfectly even when the caps blew out a bit, but have had 2 laptops that i got broken for free and they actually were broken! shorted chip and weaknesses.
    Anyway great channel- best out there and please DONT EDIT as it takes to much time and frankly i just jump to the repairing bits and avoid the take apart part if i dont need that. so theres plenty here you can pick and choose from.
    Thanks from Aust.

    I remember with 2 different acer travelmates 52xx series, one intel and one amd, which are quite similar with this one, dead with no lights, issue was the cmos battery. Bij dead cmos battery laptop was not powering on with no lights.

    I have a high suspicion of the cosmos "button" battery being low in condition. Or ill fitting in it's round case. I keep new in stock, and replace all I have open. If the battery is not holding a charge or borderline, they can fail at random a bit. (Or to my individual case at repair).

    i hate back socketed power connectors as i find when you put laptop down or move it , it bends the jack and socket leading to breakages.
    Better on side where you can see it and hold it as you lift laptop. Same with usb's on back where its awkward to put in and out , side is always the way to go.

    Good magician Sorin. So in hurry you messed all the screws, 5-6 missing, others changed, it wouldn't take more than 1 minute to sort them in the 1st place :) Maybe some of them was giving the short and this was your lucky-magic one :D

    For repair jobs like this, how much do you charge the customer?

    • @kevtechtvofficial
      @kevtechtvofficial 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i think the cstomer will be charge as usual as the price for dead board unless they see this vid..hahaha

    • @protonx80
      @protonx80 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kevtechtvofficial Logically the customer should be charged with usual rates .. even if he sees this video .. but a warranty of 3 months justifies the charge ... the charge is to make the laptop work ... how it is done or happens .. should not make a difference

    Hello
    Is it possible to upgrade the processor of this laptop? Right now I have a Celeron T3100 processor inside this laptop and it goes to 100% cpu usage when I try to watch a youtube video at 1080p.

    You unplugged the battery, that is the most plausible reason why it fixed itself.
