Absolutely brilliant. We moved away in 2001 to pastures new in Nova Scotia, Canada. I miss Spondon dearly and watching this bought tears to my eyes. lots of familiar faces including my Dad.
This made my day, thank you ! Born and Bred on Cambridge St, I moved away 16 years ago and now live in New York but my heart is always back there and this gives me a chance to see my home. I even saw a couple of familiar faces. Brilliant. Thank you !!

I have a friend who was from Spondon who just passed away last night (January 25, 2023). He had no wife or children. He was 83. His longtime friend is emptying his apartment (in the US). There is an old mantel clock that says James Moore Corn Market Derby. Can anyone tell me if this clock has any value or should we give it away? My sister was an antique collector but when she had to move into a smaller place, her son and grandkids didn't want anything. Millennials are not interested in antiques. Thank you.
Hi there, sorry for your loss. The clock sounds like it could have been made by Derby Jewler James Moore, either that or it was used by him in the window display - either way it’s got some age to it. I’d be very interested to see it and make you an offer but am I right in thinking your in the US? Best - Mark Rivers

I wanted to try to see if the clock had value in order to pay some of her expenses for coming across the continent. My husband and I, who are local, will be doing the last of emptying the place. All his lifelong possessions. It makes me interested in downsizing now while I'm 73.
