She was genuinely hoping to learn a single block and had a full-on sparring session with a champion twice her weight. Mad respect. Obviously he was toying but even in play, I bet he hits hard. Nina is so cute getting excited to do kickboxing then immediately getting humbled by the leg kick check. She's a good sport because I would be in tears.
The fact that he made so much time for this video proves how much confidence he actually has in his abilities as a fighter. Another fighter probably wouldn't want any "distraction" whatsoever and would be training non-stop. Sean is cool. He is that guy and he knows it.

Sean is a really good trainer. He builds the confidence up with actual contact. Weeks and weeks you'll learn to not be afraid of fighting if it's for you.

He is a really good teacher , he taught a person with basically 0 combat experience , he was giving good solid basics and tried to really hit home some key ideas to a non combatant.
in a fight you need to want to hurt the other person without the concern for yourself. This is true in a real fight, it is life or death, you want to fight to live with injuries than just roll over and die easy.
Sean is actually an excellent coach. Most people won't even appreciate half of what he's teaching
Yep, he taught her more in one lesson than most people learn in ten. She didn't learn that much technique, but he was trying to teach her not to flinch away from attacks or be scared of pain. Most people who have trained to punch and kick on bags and pads for a while, but haven't actually sparred or fought much, will still be skittish and flinchey in an actual fight, until they build up their sparring and fighting experience.
This is why you get black belts in martial arts that don't train with full continuous sparring, who can't actually fight that well, because although they know some techniques, they are still unfamiliar with the stress, action, and pain of a real fight with a fully resisting opponent who is trying to hurt you.
You two clowns just proved Sean's point, that society's bar is set so low these days, you two clowns are reflecting this low bar by whining about bums don't know about little boy pain issues.
@@sebfox2194 the stress of the fight is one of the hardest aspects, i'd get so much more tired when sparring cuz all of that adrenaline and the brain working overtime. many quit because of that or skip sparring days. i even had the same problem as nina, where i wouldn't wanna hurt the other person too, i would need for my partner to go hard for me to also raise the intensity, otherwise i would just touch em, i'm not sure though where that comes from, maybe inexperience or maybe i'm just soft xD

This guy has a real talent for coaching. He EXPLAINS WHY you do certain things. It makes sense. Defense is the hardest part of boxing, IMO. And he gives excellent explanations. Excellent mental state of mind.

It’s just like boxing, even that fight with Dracula it’s staged, Sean is in control, not saying he hasn’t got a short fuse, but business is business when it comes to fighting, made sure she didn’t interfere in his training and once it was over they had time to spar.

No matter how much the media normalises them, these guys are a different breed. Strickland just casually teaching Nina for half an hour after a sparring session and bleeding from his ear tells you all you need to know. Enjoying seeing the normal side of Strickland outside of the cage and press conferences.

@@westsidera97 She is at quite a basic level, and doesn't spar much, which is why she is so flinchey when he attacks. So, it's not like she is particularly trained in fighting. He was trying to teach her not to flinch away from attacks and not be scared of a little pain, which is what beginners learn through sparring in boxing, kickboxing, and MMA.
An athletic beginner will eclipse her level within their first few hours of training. Nothing against her, as she seems pretty cool, but she's just not particularly trained in boxing, kickboxing, or MMA.
You can tell that Sean really loves Nina. Dudes getting ready for a title fight, cutting weight and god knows what but lights up like everytime hes around her. Cannot wait to here "andddddd Stillllllll" this weekend

That's how I've felt at times that I wanted to stop like Nina. Walking all hurt after training. Giving it a month just to come back and finally being able to spar once a week and training during the other days during the week.

@@Disinfo321pretty obvious both things can be true. They helped each other out a lot. Her channel and brand grew and his accessibility/likability to the average person has went way up. Say what you will but Nina is very good at getting different perspectives from the fighters and making genuinely interesting and entertaining content.
She went from a 6 to 8plus. She has grown on me
