The moon and sun is not light, They are sources of light, light is light, saying the moon and sun is light is like saying the fan is is wind, or the tap is water, ask the Holy spirit for explanation, He speaks

That’s true. Perhaps God is illustrating something to us and THAT may be why He does things the way He does. That is also why He asked questions,I believe, because every good teacher asks questions to their students and to utter the words “It is good, very good, does not seem to imply to me anymore that God didn’t know that it would be good. Perhaps God was simply affirming it as an expression of satisfaction with what He had made. I cannot understand everything but so far I have learned that God is always teaching us something new

    • @dagwould

      Exactly.
      .
God created 'light' on day 1 because light, or energy (light is but the visible-to-us part of the electro-magnetic spectrum, or the 'energy spectrum' in shorthand) had to be created first. Energy is the basis of the material universe. No energy, no nuthin' else. The creating of light on day 1 is refelcted in the Maxwell-Heaviside energy field equations. It is the energy field that had to have been created.
      .
Nor is light necessary for days to pass. God calibrated the days for us as 'evening and morning' type days to give us the tempo of creation in terms of our experience of the creation and life, so we'd know that God was acting in the cosmos that we would act in.
      .
God's creating is shown as continuous with our experience of his creation. God show that he is close, not far, personal, not impersonal, present and directly active in the creation (and in relation to us), no acting by second causes (e.g. evolution or long ages).
      .
We don't need time keepers for time to pass. If you go to lunch without your watch, your boss will still expect you back in 30 minutes! Besides we are explicitly told that time keepers were made on day 4.

I’ve said this once, I’ll say it again. While we may only be able to be shown snippets of God’s Providence and Power, not having an exact explanation to this question is not a bad thing. One thing I’ve come to accept is that God spoke light into existence. In His Glory he then fashioned light that comes from planetary and cosmic bodies to fashion His order, and for our structure (time). Light was also present before the sun was created in and of that purpose for God’s glory. Why? To keep us from worshipping the sun. And that last bit I hold tightly to because that’s what MANY nations were doing. Idolizing the creature/creation. What a marvelous and infinitely wise God we serve. He spoke light into existence, and for good measure, made the sun afterwards just so we know and revere that HE IS GOD AND GOD ALONE.

1,000 years to us is only like a day to God because He's outside of time. Time is nothing to God.. it only took Him a day to create something no one can create in any infinite amount of time... that's why the earth isn't even as old as scientists say it is. It's not millions of years old. It's more like 14,000 years at the most. The people who control the world are satanic liars like the Bible says. It says people will lie about creation. These people literally worship Satan. The Creator always was. He's the only thing that doesn't have an origin. Something you'll never understand even if you went to heaven and asked Him. That's why it's humbling to even be in His presence. He's outside of time. He always was. Before He created anything, He was alone and content with Himself in eternity... He then created the Holy Spirit from Himself (as Eve was from Adam) in order to bring forth the Universe. That's why the Holy Spirit is described as a she/her in the Bible. The Holy Spirit is what resides here on earth and is the comforter and the one who put God's Word in man's hearts to bring God's Word unto the earth (The Holy Bible). It is the unforgivable sin to blaspheme the Holy Spirit. Nothing and no one created God. He created the Holy Spirit and the son (Jesus). That's why He's God. You'll never understand Him fully even if you were blessed to be in His presence for eternity. Eternity is not even enough for us to learn all the things about God, and I'm pretty sure if you were in His presence, you wouldn't even dare to ask Him certain questions. I'm sure He'll tell us some things, but we're not meant to be all knowing like He is, and that's okay. To try to know literally everything is to try to be like God, which is a sin. But He is outside of time. We are trapped in time (on a timeline) for now. It's kinda like how we can watch a movie, fast forward it, and rewind it, stop it (in real time) because we're outside of it. That's kinda like how God sees everything. He can literally see all the way from the beginning, to now, and he can even see Satan and his followers' future demise... He knows it all because He created time. He pressed the start button and will someday press the end button before we all enter into eternity (spiritual realm/dimension) where time is irrelevant.

For those asking "if God is all light, then how could there have been darkness/night before the sun and moon were created?". God is in control over all creation and is able to control and light and the absence of light. Remember during the plagues over Egypt, there was a plague of total darkness that affected the Egyptians, but not where Hebrews were (after the sun and moon were in normal operation). It's a miraculous event that took place during the same time of day and area in Egypt during the time of the Exodus. That's not possible through natural means such as clouds, smoke, or an eclipse covering that close of an area (pitch black to normal sun light). The same event will happen during on of the judgements of the great tribulation. The main things are that God has total control over creation, yet He himself is outside of creation. He is able to intervene and interact/affect creation freely as He pleases and demonstrate He is Lord over all things, just as the Lord Jesus Christ walked over water, the winds and waters obey Him, Lord over the sabbath, over sickness and disease, over the demons and devil, and over death itself without relying on human means or the way natural laws normally operate for us.

Prior to Creation of all, God had to establish order over what was chaos and disorderly (hovered over the unruly). That original "light" is metaphoric for moral light (God Himself) to establish moral order over darkness and chaos. Jesus later came into the world as the moral "light" in-person (as human) to establish what moral order looks like as the example for humanity. So, "light of the world" is metaphoric for righteousness and how to be morally intact with God.

We have to understand there are two realms. The spiritual and the physical (the land of the living). So God first spoke the word in the spiritual realm because this is where everything is conceived.
The second time God spoke was the manifestation in the physical. We also get to see this in verses 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Genesis". Only when God formed man from the dust as in 2:7 " And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis" now its been manifested in the physical realms where you and I live.
Read that word again, and you will see God speaking in the spiritual realm and then in the physical realms. I hope this helps

Lol,so if God was the Light that means He became Light...? Why did He have to say “Let there be Light” if He “was and is and always will be” Light as they take verses out of context to conveniently answer an unanswerable question? Furthermore, why would God say “it is good” as if He didn’t know the results before He made all that He had made? Why say, since He knows everything before it happens, why say “and He “SAW” that it was really good?” This brings up soooo many questions. I am a believer but today I’ve had enough and I am upset with God because He is too mysterious and should have made His book easier to understand. I am not meaning to curse God or do evil! I am simply upset because all I do every day is read my Bible read my Bible read my Bible and pray pray pray and study study study but it just brings more questions with ZERO answers. Yes,the Lord is Light and in Him is no darkness ,as this guy in the video quoted that verse! Lol but what He is doing is quoting a scripture that is not about physical light but rather good (light) and evil (darkness). I’m a Christian but this is deeply discouraging. To be mad at God because you don't understand what he's saying is seen as pride to God and putting yourself as His equal and the Bible says God stands afar from the prideful. The Bible says pray for clarity, but with a prideful heart, God will not come near you... Just ask for forgiveness and change your heart and thoughts. Remember we are the servants to God, not the other way around and God does not care about personal feelings in the way that we do. Example: Even if you "feel" you really love Him and want to go to heaven to be with Him, that does not matter if you're not living by His Word and commandments. That's how we prove our love, not just a feeling. He just doesn't operate that way. In the Old Testament, when God sees willful sin, He just says it must be destroyed. That's why Jesus came as a mediator for us kinda like "hold up, God, have mercy on them for they know not what they do". You do have to repent for being angry with God.
⭐⭐⭐ Now to answer your question: ⭐⭐⭐
You just can't answer anything in the Bible in a quick simple way. It's way too heavy and too much. Firstly, God saying it is good simply means that it is in order. The earth was first without form and void. It was chaotic and empty, only water in the gas state. So gas= out of order/not ordered or formed. Oceans (liquid) = in God's order and complete. God left some of the water in the gas form to surround the earth. All of the land was created as one land mass (what you'd know as Pangaea). Pangaea= the Garden of Eden... The earth was created with water. Water brought forth the land. As far as darkness, something chaotic happened in heaven for the reason why earth was dark. Guess what? Satan disobeyed God and fell from heaven taking some angels with him. Why was there darkness here among the earth? Because this earth was not created for man. It was created as a prison, a place of judgement for Satan. Once God gave light to the earth, He created man and man's purpose on earth: to judge the fallen angels and people who follow them. Yes, God gave us command over demons until their final judgement with God. They are still here roaming the earth. They're trapped here by the firmament. Nothing and no one can leave this place and go outside the firmament. It's a prison. It's not imaginary. Satan and the fallen angels are actually here on earth. The people who control the world worship them to this day. They are also known in the Bible as gods. The term Greek Mythology is deceptive because it's not a myth. Those are the same gods/fallen angels regardless of what names are given to them in whatever culture, they're talking about the same beings. Think about it this way. Many of those gods are of the marine kingdom (research marine kingdom). That's why water is so spiritual in the Bible. Some of those gods are celestial. The Bible describes stars as angels. Something we'll never understand even if you went to heaven and asked Him. This is why there's no point in being mad at His mysteries. It won't change anything. There's no point in being mad. We're not meant to know every mystery. I don't need to know everything, I'd be grateful to just make it in His kingdom even if I was to be a janitor in heaven lol.. Yes we still have free will and we are choosing. It's like watching a toddler go to a stove. The toddler is choosing to go to it, but you just know he's about to try to touch the stove smh. That's how God sees us like His children. I'm sure He thinks our temper tantrums towards Him are silly like we would a toddler. He pressed the start button and will someday press the end button before we all enter into eternity (spiritual realm/dimension) where time is irrelevant.

You are not undestanding the passage correctly. The sun was NOT created on the fourth day, but at the beginning of creation in Gen. 1:1 when God created the heavens (the hebrew word for creating also means to fill, and therefore God filled the heavens and the earth as He created them). On the fourth day, what God did is make the luminaries visible, meaning that He caused the sun, the moon and the stars to give light upon the earth and hence to rule the day and the night. So, what 1:14-16 is saying is that God appointed the luminaries to rule the day and the night on earth (He made them rule the day and the night), not that He made them as material objects.

    • @lostmagicdude888
      @lostmagicdude888 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Gen 1:16 says God made two great lights; the greater light to tryle the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: hje made stars also. then 17 it says God set them in the firmament so it kinda does say got made them not just appointed them.
When I read your thing yoiu made me think he didn't say he created them on the fourth day

    • @vacaloca5575
      @vacaloca5575 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@lostmagicdude888 In 1:16, God made two great lights to rule over the day and over the night, and he also made the stars for that purporse. So, the word make does not mean create, build or manufacture, but rather become functional; he made them to rule the day and the night, meaning that he made them for that function.
In relation to Gen. 1:17, note that the Hebrew word "vayiten" does not primarily mean to set but to give (vayiten otam be-rakia ha-shammayim...), and so literally this verse reads "and God gave (or is giving) them to the firmament of the heavens...", meaning that he is providing them in the firmament with the function of giving light to earth. Note that from our perspective the firmament is the atmosphere. So, the luminaries are not only figuratively set in the firmament, but their light is transferred (given) to the firmament so it may be filtered by the atmosphere and thus acquire a useful biological function before it is given to the earth.
So, to set the luminaries in the firmament does not mean that God physically placed them there, but that the light he is providing to us through them is first given to the firmament so it may be adequated to the biological needs of the earth, as the text literally says that God is giving the luminaries to the firmament so they may shine their light upon the earth, which is ultimately God's light, because in 1:3 God is providing the only light mentioned in the text, and so on the fourth day it is the light of God which is transferred (given) to the firmament, which, from our perspective, is the atmosphere. The light is then transferred to the earth after being filtered by the atmosphere to acquire its biological function, because without an atmosphere the light of the sun and stars would not have a useful biological function, as the cosmic rays from outer space would destroy all life, and so the atmosphere made on the second day only reaches its full biological function on the fourth day when it is able to filter the light of God before that light is finally transferred to the earth.
So, the idea is that the luminaries acquire their biological function as their light reaches and penetrates the atmosphere, transferring only God's life-giving light to the earth, as the atmosphere filters out the harmful light, such as cosmic rays, which of course ultimately also come from God.
Note also that neither the sun nor the moon are mentioned in Genesis 1, and so the luminaries may be considered to be more than just stars, as figuratively they may refer to future rulers or other important people, such as prophets and heroes, as the morning stars in Job, who bring or are supposed to bring to us God's light from a higher circle of authority (figuratively, a heaven). So, figuratively, this passage is saying that God provides the authorities who are to rule on earth, as he delegates authority to them for ruling on earth, but they are to rule for better or for worse according to how they filter and interpret the light that they ultimately receive from God.
So, on the fourth day, that God made the luminaries to rule the earth means that he delegated power to them (not that he created them), as they are the ones who are to rule on earth. To do that, ie to make the luminaries ready for ruling on earth, God gave them to (hence figuratively "set" them in) the firmament of heaven, meaning that the light of stars (and the light of rulers) is transferred to the atmosphere (or government), so the light may be given a useful biological function as it is filtered by the atmosphere before it reaches the earth.

      Thank you sir!
One thing I notice is you leave out a semicolon which implies a pause and not having the pause implies a continuation of the logic which makes what you say make more sense but having the semicolon makes what you say seem less true.
with semicolon "God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night"
your version "God made two great lights to rule over the day and over the night"
see how these two read very differently? In the actual scripture with the semi colon space it makes it seem like he made the lights but in your example it could more easily be interpreted to seem like he just made the lights govern the day and night. With the semicolon it does seem like it is saying he made the lights not that he is telling the lights what to do
One thing I was wondering also is that in Genesis 1:11 "And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, herb yielding seed, and fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind"
And plants cannot grow without the sun and you are saying the cosmic light is too powerful and harmful for biological life such as plants so in your interpretation on the fourth day the atmosphere was made to be able to transfer only the light which is life-giving but plants were able to grow on the third day so I was wondering how the plants grew under the harmful cosmic rays or how they grew with just light but no heat from the sun? One thing I am reading is that photosynthesis actually doesn't require heat and only requires light so maybe actually the sun's heat wasn't needed for the plants to grow. So many people are saying plants can't grow without the sun but maybe that's just not true and that would make this make a lot more sense to me.
the luminaries being possible angels or prophets or possibly rulers is interesting!!!!! true that the words sun and moon are never mentioned.
Thank you so much!!!! I have spent the last two days reading many youtube comments and reading articles trying to get different people's interpretations. Trying to make sense of how there are days on day 1-3 with the greater and lesser lights not being set to govern them

@@lostmagicdude888 There are no semicolons in the original Hebrew; so, the ones you see were just added there by translators and should have no bearing on the reading. Older translations like the KJV have a lot of semicolons, but newer ones don't because modern English does not use them in the same way.
Note that I did not say that the atmosphere was made on the fourth day, but only that it became fully functional in that day. In fact, I did say the atmosphere was made on the second day, since the firmament which God made on that day and then called heaven is the atmosphere. So, the plants growing on the third day would already be protected.
I believe the atmosphere becomes fully functional on the fourth day, not by becoming more protective, but when the luminaries begin to function as signals for biological growth ("And let them be for signs..."), allowing the animal life to proliferate on the following day. Note that about two centuries ago a russian researcher Alexander Gutwich discovered that the growth of fish eggs was controlled by light emissions coming from the DNA of the mother.

    1. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters (Genesis 1:2)
    3. The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever (Psalm 29:10)
    4. The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters (Psalm 29:3)
    5. When He uttereth His voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; He maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of His treasures (Jeremiah 10:3)
    6. Who layeth the beams of His chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds His chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind (Psalm 104:3)
    7. And He made darkness pavilions round about Him dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies (2 Samuel 22:12)
    8. The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled; Thy way is in the sea, and Thy path in the great waters, and Thy footsteps are not known (Psalm 77:16;19)
THESE TEXTS ABOVE IMPLY THAT GOD ALMIGHTY RESIDES OVER WATER THEREFORE THE SPIRIT OF GOD MOVING OVER THE WATERS IS ANOTHER WAY OF SAYING THE LORD’S OPERATIONAL PRESENCE, MIND, CHARACTER and VOICE ARE PERMANENTLY RESIDING OVER THE WATERS STARTING WITH THE SEA OF GLASS LIKE CRYSTAL IN REVELATION 4:6.
SIMILARLY: Psalms 68:8 The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel; WE KNOW FROM THE SCRIPTURES THAT GOD’s PRESENCE IN OUR REALM IS DIVINE BY NATURE IMPLYING A PHYSICAL AS WELL AS SPIRITUAL PRESENCE.
Hence, if God was already surrounded by dark waters, it makes sense that in Genesis 1, one day one, He created light within the waters.
Second day, God created a firmament to separate the waters. By day 4, the sun, moon and stars were created AND set in the firmament.
Consequently, light already existed before the luminaries were created and they were created to govern or rule their territories where the sun rules the day and the moon governs the night.
That’s why we have daylight which is general light that appears even without the sun in sight. It does not generate heat nor cast a shadow.
Sunlight on the other hand is specific light with rays and generates intense heat whilst also casting shadows.

Christ came to baptize with the Spirit & 🔥 Fire. Fire is refining. So one truly baptized in this passes through the fires of the Holy Spirit's judgement on earth. Many professing Christians are not truly doing this. And for those who are not believers they will pass through the 'lake of fire' after their body dies. Our soul (mind will emotion) and body must 'die' - for all of us, and be raised in Christ. Immortal body and righteousness of Christ are the the reward.

Well, the body dies and is 'reborn' ONCE for all time, same for the inner man. Once we put off mortality and sin, there is no more work to be done. Only two deaths assigned to each person in Christiany.
Possibly we preexisted with God in heaven before our bodies took on flesh, but this wouldn't be common Christian theology. I just know there is debate about it, and I haven't spent adequate time studying it. It could possibly explain why some people have remembrance of life before this life, ålthough, it wouldn't have been an earthly life.

If I may encourage you to consider the language Genesis was written in. When we do that we see the following
In verse 14 we have that unusual construction again of "let there be." It is not a statement of creation, but a statement of appearance. At this point, the clouds present at the initial creation of the earth were completely removed so that the bodies themselves appeared for the first time on the surface of the earth. The passage tells us that the lights were allowed "to be" so that they could be signs of the seasons, days, and years. It was necessary for the creatures of day 5 that the heavenly bodies be visible. We know that many of the migratory birds (created on day 5) require visible stars to navigate, hence the need to actually see these bodies. Verse 18 gives us another hint. The lights were placed in the sky to "separate the light from the darkness." Does this sound familiar? It is the exact Hebrew phrase used for God's work on the first day when, "God separated the light from the darkness" (Genesis 1:4) By using this phrase, the text is recounting the formation of the Sun, moon and stars from the first day. If we accept that God created the Sun, moon and stars on the fourth day, then He didn't really create the heavens in verse one. So, the 24-hour day interpretation suffers a contradiction between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:16
So from the text and from the study of creation, we see that the sun, moon and stars were created in the beginning before day one in the text even started

  • @-kepha8828
    @-kepha8828 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

It NEVER says the sun, moon, and stars were "created" on day 4. It says they were "made". Create is the hebrew word BARA, while made is the hebrew word ASAH. Asah also means "to appoint", and NEVER means "to create".
Because ASAH is most often translated as "made" in hebrew, consider this:
If you MADE your bed on day 4, does that mean that your bed was "created" on day 4? Of course not!
Had people actually read their scriptures, they would have known that Job 38 states that the stars existed on the very first day, lol. But these pastors DONT know the scriptures, and teach deceits. Due to ignorance.

The 'morning stars' are celestial beings, not physical stars. Job 38: 7 is a parallelism, a common motif in Hebrew poetry. The morning stars and the sons of God are referring to the same entities poetically in different ways.
Also I think you may be reading too much into the distinction between bara and asah in this passage. Genesis 1: 26 and 27 use them as synonyms for each other (make man vs created man). Similarly, created birds and fish vs made the beasts of the earth. Further, asah is used to refer to all the creative works of the whole creation week in Genesis 2:2 and 3. To belabor the point further, Genesis 2:4 uses created and made as direct synonyms again.
Or if you would prefer a passage outside Genesis, 'created' and 'made' are used as parts of a couplets several times in Isaiah as well. Notably in chapters 43 and 45 (Whom I have created for my glory; I have formed him, yes I have made him.) (I form the light and created darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the LORD, do all these things.) So while bara and asah DO have different precise definitions, they're commonly used as synonyms for each other. ESPECIALLY when describing the creative labors of God.
I wouldn't be so quick to throw around accusations of ignorance, especially not on a secondary issue like whether the days of Genesis are literal 24 hour days or an instant or vast undefined aeons of time.

If god already is light why would he need to say "let there be light" ? Unless light in this case represents truth or goodness and the dark ignorance/evil. So maybe in this case seperating day from night refers to the creation of the opposing positive and negative forces of the world like good or bad or hot or cold and all that. And from that perspective you could even say light is consciousness, since without consciousness you cant differentiate between opposite forces. Only issue with this is the following paragraphs sound pretty literal with no metaphorical meaning that i could find. So either just the first paragraph is a metaphor which is possible, or or none of it is. I dont know tho just an idea. Thoughts?

Genesis 1:1 says that in the beginning (before the six creative days began starting at Genesis 1:3), God created the heavens and the earth. The physical heavens include the sun, moon and stars. Genesis 1:2 says that there was darkness on the surface of the earth. When God said "Let there be light”, diffused light from the already-created sun began to penetrate the earth's thick atmosphere to reach earth’s surface. Genesis 1:16 says that on the fourth day God "made" the sun, moon and stars, but that does not mean that God created them ex nihilo at that time. The word for "made" in this verse is not the same word as "create" used in Genesis 1:1. God "made" the sun, moon and stars on the fourth day in the sense that he placed them in the sky, causing them to become distinctly visible as light sources from the vantage point of the earth, perhaps due to a gradual thinning of the atmosphere. (Some say that the six days of creation were literal 24-hour days, but the word "day" in the Bible can refer to a long period of time.)
