My Aunt lives in Cashel and has a view of the rock from her kitchen window. As a child in the 70's it was completely open to the public and I used to play hide and seek there with my brother and cousin's. The cross of St. Patrick was outside and we would see if we could wrap our arms around it for luck.(my arms weren't long enough) Thank you for sharing.
This is the best and nicest video I have ever seen on the 'Rock of Cashel'. My ancestors are from Cashel and I visited many years ago. Looking forward to returning again next year.
Same. Have been twice and would go every year if I could find the travel buddies to split costs of accommodations with me! Makes a trip like that very affordable!
I'm doing my next podcast on this and found your video. Thanks much for the info, I like youtube more than articles sometimes. Videos are more in depth. I have always wanted to go to Ireland. Now I want to go more.
We once did a homeswap with a family from Cashel and had two lovely weeks in the area, visited the Rock of Cashel several times 😍🤩 thanks a lot for this Video 😃
Well, I've been there and loved it and Ireland. To the person that said to put a roof on it and fix it, they can't. This may have been a church, fort, etc but that is not what it was originally built for. I'm wide awake now and see it. God please take care of the evil so and so's.
When you introduce, I can understand completely, while others like Rick Steve and etc do, sometimes it's difficult for me to catch what he is saying. Both of you are from America but I don't know the reason why there is difference for me to understand when you are talking .
Been from Ireland i have been there and a few others but if you look to the north south of the rock you will see what's called the devil's bit and it is said that the devil tuck a bite out of a mountain and spit it out in Cashel
So bam can set the deadlines and the government have given an open ended contract. This is just crazy you'd easily know this was taxpayer's money and not theirs.

Love the choir - what a treat for those visiting that day. Ireland is on my bucket list. Until then, I'm so grateful for video tours. Thank you!
Put this place on my bucket list if I get the chance to visit Ireland. Thanks for posting Dennis.
The man said no one knew what time it was to ring the bells, how did the monks know what time it was? Eh! ha!ha! Thanks for the upload ,from Ireland!!
Ha Ha ... I thought that too! I think what he meant was it was their way of saying ... "It's time to come to Church!"
I love this country so much ...just wanna go back 💚🍀☘

Thanks for the video! Great information about the Rock of Cashel. Good Bantry Bay song at the end, too.
Very informative and strikingly beautiful....carry on!
We'll be there next month! So looking forward to Ireland!!
Was an amazing experience. Want to go back. I feel like I missed so much.

Point of clarification at 4:56. The building is built in the shape of a cross, not a crucifix. A crucifix is a cross with Jesus on it.
Interesting distinction, which I did not know, thank you.
3:35 Why is that woman standing on someone`s grave?
Was there 2 weeks ago- amazing!!!
Going there next week!!

Get a roof back on that thing! Get it working again 👍
can't believe how much you sound like Rick Steves. exactly
50 years ago there was no tourist trap b.s. you drove up, parked on gravel and meandered your way around and through it.
