Great video, to your question. I used the White's V3I for many years. Then I got the Equinox 800. When I saw the XP Deus 2 coming out, I made the move. I forgot to say I am in the IT world and have worked with computers for over 30 years. So you asked how did we get by before we had reactivity? I guess I look at is like this. With the V3I the processor was slow and if a site had a lot of junk, I would just move on. Don't get me wrong, the V3I was and still is a great machine. However, the processor just does not match. The Equinox 800 was fast, but I missed the ability to make all the settings changes I could with the V3I. You are 100% right, you need a machine that you can adjust for the ground. The ground will make it or break it. The XP Deus 2 gives you the ability to make those adjustments and bring the ground to it's knees. With these settings you can tame this beast we call soil. Thanks for sharing.
Very informative explanation Gary as is usual for your videos. It's an important setting for users to get there head round, and actually not as complicated as it may appear.
I'm a bit daunted by the complexity of all the adjustments on this machine but I do understand this particular setting is a key one in all instances. Thank you for adding this crucial bit of knowledge to my understanding of the Deus ll.
My problem is aluminum. Great Lake's beaches are full of it. Mimics silver depending on if its foil, nuggets, ring pulls, cans, chunks. Deus, Mine Lab, Garrett in my arsenal. Deus I find in X-Y screen does well, old Minelab Pro very sensitive & ears discriminate the chirps, Garrett ATX, well, I find all kinds of thing's at 2+ feet depending on size. Old RR ties with zinc plated nails, drain pipes, boat parts (boat engine prop, hope the folks had oars). Air plane wheel? Camping equipment pieces parts. No treasure chests yet. Thanks Gary, great teacher. Really know your Deuses! Taught me a lot. Appreciate it.
I'm assuming these settings you could apply to using the D1 with the reactivity and sensitivity settings ., how much dose changing either higher lower frequencies affect the program .
Thanks for your questions. I have found the machine tells you what is the best frequency to use based on feedback Vs false signals. Perhaps this is a subject I should cover in a future video.
Thanks Gary , excellent info 😊 , been using eqx 900 for just over 12 months and that's my treasure detecto resume ... with a hard start but sending in over 4 x paid for machine + a lot of great keepers , xpd 2 harder to learn but I can tell It's a lot smarter already.. cheers for all your help & looking forward to seeing more 👍
Thanks Gary, most of the land I detect is quite quiet so on my D1 I can run Sens 93+ and set Reactivity at 2-2.5, perhaps 3 on the occasional 'noisier' area with Silencer -1. 👍🏻
Thank you for this Gary. I'm still learning the Deus 2 - but usually use the default for the program I'm in. I am going to play with the setting from now on !!!
Excellent video Gary, indeed, reactivity is in my opinion is probably one of the most important settings to comprehend, I can think of one of my farms I detect here in Wiltshire that has a very large dairy herd, and all the slurry etc is regularly deposited on the ground, a reactivity of anything below 3 is useless, minerals won’t allow low reactivity settings. I believe many users are almost blinkered into being transfixed with depth and are quite possibly walking over so many missed targets using a incorrect reactivity setting, fascinating stuff,, may I just add,,,, I reckon a reactivity setting of 3.5 would be greatly appreciated! All the best…. Dave.
Great vido Gary for my deus 1 I Alton it as and when I need to most of the ground I dectect is ploughed I tend to stick to 2.5 to 3 if its a Busy site 3 tends to pick them small roman coins up really well 👍🏼
Great explanation on reactivity, do you think frequency makes a difference on fluffy plough soil or dry soil or would you say frequency is more target specific?
Thanks, as always, for yet another really helpful video & tips Gary! I’m a slave to Relic mode, I just love it, and really only move the reactivity & sensitivity depending on the ground. It’s reassuring to hear your thoughts are similar to mine based on the land / soil etc. was great to meet you at Detectival, albeit briefly. Keep up the great work, Marcus
With the relic Programm you have to constantly look at you vdi. Deep hc tweaked a little is the best program deus 2. It will even still find the low conductors.
Relic drove me nuts in Virginia having to constantly look at the VDI to see if it was ferrous or not, I switched to Deep Hc with 3 tones and never looked back..
Did you actually watch the video? 0_o 🤔 It all depends on location, conditions, user preference and swing speed. Lower reactivity will give you more depth, but less separation and vice versa.
Gary, I think the title should be Ultimate performance and Ultimate battery drain. Advice welcome from other searchers with a Deus II. I would like to know the battery status of your Deus II coil after a day or half a day of searching. and would also like to know if it is the 9 or 11 inch. Thanks in advance..
@@The-skillschool Yes thank you Gary but that is and does not solve the problem. what you mentioned in the video I have already set from day one that searches with the Deus II. It seems to be a bigger problem and XP itself isn't happy about it. My 9 inch coil has been under investigation in France for three weeks. I have already received a replacement 9 inch coil and this one is even worse than the first. (four hours and 50 minutes) The importer of XP Deus here also tested a 9 inch coil this weekend and the battery is also empty after almost six hours and standard program 2. This is unacceptable!! you can show as many tips as you want but XP must seriously solve this problem or there will be a lot of complaints. Again my question to other Deus II users please mention your battery life here of the coil I would like to hear what your battery status is of the coil after a few hours
@@The-skillschool ( UPDATE october 11) Tomorrow I will get an 11 inch coil from the importer to test and see if the problem also occurs with the 11 inch, to be continued,........
Thanks Gary, you can read a book a hundred times but one video can show you exactly what to listen for...priceless.
Thanks JK, I'm glad it helped.

Cheers Paul, you are right, reactivity is a simple setting.

Thanks Roy, it's the same with everything new.....in a couple if weeks it will become second nature.👍
This an an excellent video to show people the best way to set their reactivity. Very helpful!
Great video. New to the deus 2. Started with a simplex. Been watching all your videos and tinkering with it outside in the yard. Loving it so far.
Thanks DD, glad the info helped you on your Deus II journey.
Lovely and informative video Gary. Thanks.
Thank you sir 👍🤝
Hi Gary I'm deus 1 user over ten years I use reactivity 2 2.5 and 3 silencer on 0 1 or 2 mostly depends on land Great video for deus 2 user cheers
Thanks Booby, I normally use 3 or 4 on the Deus 1. I find the Deus 2 can take a lower reactivity.
Brilliant video as usual Gary, please keep them coming 👍
Thanks Derek 👍🤝

Thanks Dan I guess it could make a difference.
great video.
will be some video informations about underwater setting for divers
thanks
Thanks for watching, not from me I am not a diver.
You can watch Calabash digger. He does lots of diving with the deus 2

Sometimes I think we overthink too much on these machines, I yearn for the 80's and 90's
Me and my Garrett Master Hunter :))
Totally agree
Great video thanks, so what is better then. A lower reactivity or higher sensitivity. It sounds like they both do the same thing.

6 hours sounds abought right. Not very long but I don't hunt 6 hours traight anymore anyway.
Merci gary
Do u still use your xpdeus 1 and if so what site land or you full deus 2 now? thanks
Deus 2, reactivity 1,5-2, Relic program
Good call 👍
I never ran reactivity above 2.5 ,But I will Now 👍🙂
Sometimes it is needed.
Thanks for your support David.
Por favor pongan traducción en Español!!
Gracias
Watch on a PC and select subtitles for your language.
E’ possibile avere i sottotitoli anche in italiano per favore grazie mille
You can use the settings tab and translate.
Wouldn’t it of been useful to bury a target on all 3 fields and show the results?
Confused
Вподобайка за відео

Hi Gary, no traduction for your vidéo, so sad 😪
They are available now
Yet another. Good information video young man keep them coming 👍
