    Both my parents are deaf and mute but I'm gifted like a normal person. Love them to the fullest and mom is extremely smart and just like a regular person. Dont know when India will start considering them the same like us.

    Am so touched and proud of those heroes. I fall in love with them, I wish the government of India gives the attention to the deaf people, they are smart just like any normal people. This documentary just made me excited to learn the sign language and take a part in the community of India. Love from Emirates to all of the deaf people of India.

    Damn this video make me happier and I'm good as deaf i already educated 12th class. I'm still working animation design.
    I forgot ISL,ASL,BSL when i was 12 kid left sign language school because i start using hearing aids and speaking as well and going to english medium, after they talking english i was confusing what's teacher saying i don't understand speaking of english while I'm very worry that day. I'll try practice hard speaking english on tuition english classes. Then going to school again study and english speaking as well.

    Beatiful documentry. Made me aware of the problems faced by the deaf community. A lot of work needs to be put in to solve the daily problems faced by them. Let us all try to be part of the solution.

    Thank you! Very insightful. “Don’t talk to him in Sign Language, it makes his mind closed” - I can’t believe the parents actually said that. It’s the contrary, everyone thinks in the language he/she knows best. You wouldn’t speak Tamil to a Hindi native speaker, so why speak Hindi or English to an ISL communicator.

    I am normal but recently started learning sign languages from Pragya Gupta and I landed watching this video. Now I am even more enthusiastic to learn sign language so that I can understand and communicate with them. These deaf people are as smart and as intelligent as any other Normal person. I had a deaf and friend before and we started smoking cigarettes together. I think he too has grew up, married and doing well in life.

      I am fluent in ASL, watching the video, they were not signing ASL at all. It looked more like BSL, British Sign Language. ASL and BSL are nothing alike.

    Hey everyone
    I am not deaf but i always wanted to learn sign language.
    I want to be able to communicate with the community. I think every person should learn the basics of sign language. I am learning it too. Hope i don't stop the learning in between. But it's hard to find ISL tutorial on TH-cam. Still i am gathering information from wherever i can.
    Keep going everyone. Much love.

    is this ASL pr Indian Sign Language? im curious

    • @BernardLuksich
      @BernardLuksich 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is not ASL although you will find many signs are the same or similar. The signs in a specific community tend to be different and based on cultural norms. An example is the sign for "dead" in Russia is to have both arms crossed. That makes sense since in Russia that is how the body is placed in the casket, with arms crossed.. The same sign means "love" in ASL.

      numbers it is ASL

    • @giansingh4011
      @giansingh4011 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@bruceblanchard8489 No they aren't. The numbers and letters of Indian Sign Language use two hands which makes them similar to British Sign Language, not American. We use one handed letters and numbers in ASL. There were a few signs I noticed that were the same as ASL but not even half.

    It’s so ironic how we are made to take second languages in school, languages like French which we may never use. Isn’t it so much more important to be able to communicate in sign language, which would actually be of use ?
