My dad used to teach Philosophy, he's nearly 80 now. He and I still talk random stuff time to time, his neurology is definitely failing. DingDong is starting to show more signs of neurological failures. He never had a great deal of flexibility, but he's becoming even more ridged. Btw, simply saying that Gould doesn't like that Creationists appeal to that quote does not justify that it's a cherry picking fallacy.
To justify that it's a cherry picking fallacy, you'd have to actually provide the surrounding context which, if included, changes the intended meaning of the words of the quote ITSELF, such that it renders Darth's argument invalid. Meaning, that it no longer supports the conclusion that he was arguing for.
