Thanks for posting solid evidence of the gimped elevator pull of the Hornet. You only have, at most, 50% of pulling up authority available to you which kills this aircraft and why I have yet to even fly it. Yes pushing down on the elevator is pretty much as effective as pulling up in this aircraft because of the gimped elevator and it has been this way since the aircraft got launched. There are other aircraft with I think the same problem in game too and thus I have yet to fly those. Don't know why Giajin did this.
Considering that it is at all speeds and it is artificially restricting how far you can pull the elevator I would say so since in reality you should, and would, have more elevator pull.
To add on the instructor can briefly pull more elevator than you can as a player. Push the nose down heavily into a high negative G maneuver without moving the cursor and then let go and the instructor will use more elevator than you possibly can to pull you back to the cursor even though you should have the ability to pull as much. There isn't any reason to be artificially and a historically restricting the elevator of this aircraft in the way that Gaijin is.
Gaijin also ahistorically restricted the available pull to the player which also goes into that. You should have more than you do and the instructor can briefly use the bit more available on occasion.
Can't wait to see what this thing can do with the flight model of an actual Hornet. Currently it doesn't really feel like the aircraft Eric Brown (who flew just about every aircraft the RAF and Luftwaffe fielded during the war) named as his favorite. I mean, honestly, the guy flew 14 versions of the Spitfire, and the Hornet was his favorite piston-engine plane!
I dunno, the way we fly in WT is different from real life. With mouse every maneuver that doesn't use gradual mouse movements is conducted at max angle of attack, right before the stall, and that's something that simply wasn't done in real life. Also, stability is a big factor in pilot appreciation of an aircraft, as is pretty important to actually aim once you maneuver onto an enemy's 6, and that's something that isn't featured in RB WT. He probably liked the power on the Hornet lol.
Adam, I’ve started to play again, after a few years of not playing the game. Could you make a video explaining the manual engine controls in rb? I notice you are on WEP almost the whole time, but fiddling with your prop pitch and radiator doors. I love that kind of stuff!
I love that kind of stuff too! I'll do a video on that eventually, but to start there are tutorials on TH-cam that do a decent job at explaining MEC, you should start with that.
I feel that K4 pilot. However, he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings and did not adapt to the situation properly. From the altitude you were engaging him I get the impression he did not give a good example in climbing as well. I guess I'll take it back then. Good game, Adam.
Adam514 while i play with p-63a-10 there is no improvement in engine when the engine injection module is installed.Its like there is no improvement, the plane remains the same whether u install the engine injection module or not
Part of it might be because it causes a higher fuel consumption, so 20 min fuel without engine injection is less weight than with engine injection. Best test would be max speed in a straight line with and without engine injection to see if there's a difference.
Here's a question: even though the hornet has a 2km airspawn and an excellent climbrate guaranteed to give it a 1 km altitude advantage over anything it faces, is it still worse than most single-engine props at that BR?
@@AdamTheEnginerd Well, after having spent several hours grinding to the hornet, I must agree with you. It's nice to have a starting energy advantage, but eventually you'll end up with a 109 on your ass that you can't out turn and you can't dive away from.

Matches like these happen pretty often when your team has lots of ground pounders. The Germans overreacted by sending essentially all their fighters to kill the ground pounders before they lost by tickets, if a couple more had continued to climb it might have been a different match.

I have a question I can't find an answer for: When using vertical targeting, the guns are aiming up slightly, to make the shells meet the aiming reticle at the set distance. If I roll 90 degrees to the left for example, will my guns shoot slightly to the left (rolling 180 degrees, upside down, guns shooting down slightly and so on ) or will they still shoot up slightly like when the plane didn't roll? (I hope my grammar was correct, not native speaker) Thank you ^^
i hate when it takes me 7 shots on the enemie with mks like you with ur last kill. Its very frustrating especially when it gets stolen or you get killed from another enemie just because it took you soo long.

I hate this thing when playing as a german, not because of the threat but how long it takes to take one down because most of the players are just flying high and feel superior just because they are higher then you and then they are not attacking you...
Hahaha my apologies! I had prior experience with the Hornet before this game and that's where I had a few issues with the low mounted guns. In this match they simply made me use a bit more ammo, nothing major.
They have neither the top speed nor the maneuverability (never both roll and turn) of single-engined fighters, which relegates them to support rolls, which are only as effective as your team.
Adam514 do you think lowering their battle rating would make them more balanced? Or do you think they are balanced and supporting just isnt your playstyle? (Sorry for commenting on this old video btw)
Depends, some certainly deserve a BR reduction. Indeed it's not my style, since I'm the one carrying the team and being relied upon, not the contrary. Heavy fighters aren't as effective for good pilots.
Adam514 it kind compensates but American bombers destroy German fighters due to 50 Cal's being op and that they auto pilot snipe even when 1.5 km away...
Once you know about it, it's not that bad. Got sniped a few times at 1.5km but I learned my lesson and now I kill bombers just like before the buff. Your approach is everything.
Not really. The aircraft are balanced. But mostly your team will consist of lvl 25 noobs that dont know how to fly a german plane vs. a allied team cosisting of lvl 100 players

The wing loading is massive on the Hornet, like a jet, that's why it pulls similar to a jet.

Man, you should try the P-61C! On turn fights, the gunner can take the foes, If you have enough crew points. And It turns +/- like a Thunderbolt.

Statcard is never accurate anyway. But if you hover over the module and there is no improvement, perhaps it hasn't been implemented yet.

It just can't 1v1 stuff. It's only effective when it still has teammates for baits and to collect baits.

1vs1 has its place too though, you won't always have the energy advantage over the enemies.

I've never used V targeting so I don't know. But, my guess is that it works regardless of your rotation.

It's fast at all altitudes, only the F8FB can catch you at low altitude and the Ta152H at high altitude.
