hey connor, love your content been really invested in this line of content recently as im a 16 yr old male who just got a job at a local cafee, wondering if u have any tips or tricks that would help me grow not only as a barista but as a overall person in the workspace keep up the good work, cheers
Hey mate, I started out in cafes around 16. What helped me a lot was learning of other people who had been working there awhile- there customer service, workflow, attitude. Try make every drink better than the last and practice latte art on every takeaway drink, that way you can just put a lid on if it sucks! Just don't be afraid to ask questions, that's how you learn quickly. Hope it's going well for you so far!
Never been a barista- is it not possible to calibrate the machine that dispenses the grounds to give a precise weight so you don’t have to weigh it manually?
Loving the content connor, keep it coming! After watching quite a few of your videos its got me curious how it works, are you employed by each of the different cafes or is it on multiple zero hour contracts and they just call you when they need someone in? Dont mean to pry im just very curious 😂
so i came to ask how often you clean under the basket on those spouted portafilters during a shift. making new espresso and running it over old baked on espresso and thinking it's good espresso is gross. then i watched you spill oat milk all over the place, floor, container, hands, counter, and more importantly into a clearly dirty pitcher which can be seen while you're pouring the oat milk in and while you're steaming it at 3:35 after watching all of this happen i already know the answer to my initial question. you don't clean out between the basket and portafilter during a shift.
Such a hater for no reason. This guy is clearly a great barista. People aren’t always perfect 100% of the time. Also it’s only oat milk… which I’m sure he would have wiped up.
I saw your comment under a different video of connor asking the same question. Is your whole life about how often someone cleans the portafilters? You have a lot of time, don‘t you?
@@Lulunnago imagine thousands of videos being made about espresso on the internet and not one ever talks about it and every idiot thinks they make and serve good espressso

You sound EXACTLY like one of my mates. It's incredible.
Anyway, great channel dude, videos are top!
This might be a silly question or maybe you explained it already but are you a "traveling barista" as in you don't have a specific cafe you work at?
I work at cafes all over London with an app called baristas on tap. It's fun and I get to show people coffee from loads of cool places!
More of these vlogs pleaseee 😊😊
More to come!

Thanks, will do!
place a cup near the measurement to put those little coffee you throw.

You can't calibrate a machine to do that but there are some high end grinders that do it automatically
