Although the drum elements are jamming, I agree this music would overall be ideal for various public buildings where you can have a seat and wait for your appointment to start or your travel journey to begin or resume.
This is the hold tune for my local doctor and whenever I'm in line to call I just vibe to passport. (though I'll admit it sounds like it was recorded from a phone recording a phone recording a phone)
You know, if you sync 0:49 to the end of this MIDI with the intro to Hello Kitty’s Paradise (the One minute, 12 second version), it goes surprisingly well
I remember scoping out the default midis on win 98 in the high school computer lab when this came on. Typing teacher thought I had somehow gotten pron playing.
Reminds me of my first laptop Violet. She had Windows 98 put on even though The year was 2002. She belonged to school, she help me cope a lot. I am on the autistic spectrum, and I felt so misunderstood by so many people throughout school. She help me cope a lot, she was my best friend. But then, the technician took her away on September 16 2005. Because the power supply on the motherboard had stopped working, it upset me and made me angry that they didn’t even bother to replace the board in her.Even 13 years later, I still miss her.
i think thats because they used the Roland sc-55 for the music first and then they used the snes sound chip to make the final soundtrack. This was really common back then because the sc-55 was really good at the video game soundtracks and btw they used sounds from the sc-55 and sc-88 for n64 games like there is the preset harmonica on the sc-55 and it sounds the same as the one in ocarina of time or there are many other presets that were used in donkey kong etc.
No, because in the early 2000s, this MIDI sequence was replaced by Flourish, One Stop, and Town on Windows ME and Windows XP, and they were reused in later operating systems on and on, including Windows 11.
These two sound familiar: 1:47 sounds from one of those instruments that reminds me of Baldi's Basics And 1:51 sounds a little bit like Animal Crossing.

Don’t forget “nostalgia purposes” too. Who knows what pre-XP fans would induce nostalgia from.

Slap Bass, if you were curious
seinfeld killed bass
or should i say rebirthed
I have been looking for this for 18 years. Thank you for posting this.
You're very welcome. This MIDI music is jamming, so I was thrilled to uploaded it back in 2016! I am glad you had some great nostalgia.
Resurrected my old Windows 98SE system. First test of the audio was Passport...love it :-)
I remember hearing this on a Florida East Coast Railway promotional video back in 2005-2007, along with Canyon.mid...
Wow, nice, thx. I love that kind of music. Pure computer 90's. Theme Hospital ost etc.
Exactly what I was looking for, quite rare stuff yeah
the things you can discover inside C:/Windows/Media
But it's no longer in new versions :(
Did it get removed in Windows 11?
I cannot find it on windows 10
I think I was mistaking Town / Onestop for this, I don’t believe Passport has been in “recent” versions of Windows (Everything after 2000)
Pretty nice music. It’s just sounds like I’m relaxing at a lounge or something. I love the part at 0:54.
Although the drum elements are jamming, I agree this music would overall be ideal for various public buildings where you can have a seat and wait for your appointment to start or your travel journey to begin or resume.
Well, damn. I've heard Onestop, Town, and Flourish, but didn't even know this was a thing. I like it.

Sounds interesting. I wonder how they managed to use this Microsoft MIDI sequence as phone hold music? This isn't royalty-free music.
@@CEO100able huh though it was, rither way I don't know if it matters in phone hold noises
a moment of silence for those who's sound drivers weren't working

That is the most oddly specific fact I have ever heard, and I love it.
what the shit, u right
I did it out of curiosity, this is also the most specific comment so I had to. And I must say, it does work. Legit in shock. Thanks dude, be easy.
How....did you figure this out? Beyond bizarre, beyond random. And it works, extremely well.
??? I get pure cacophony, can you make a video?
we used to play this on every computer in the computer lab in school all at the same time and drive the teachers nuts lol, good times
Doctor: You only have 2 minutes to live
Me:
the end of this midi fits about right
this track alongside CANYON.MID was made by Passport Designs and not Microsoft but the later Midi files included in Windows are made by Microsoft.
this song is a banger man
My son was created on this song….

its 2004, and you need to call your bank,

I gotta make a DooM WAD with this in it now lol
Put it in 1.25x, it sounds cooler to me
I agree! It actually sounds good at normal and slightly fast speeds.
First beat I ever rapped on Lol
Let me go get my Casio and turn on the "Slap Bass".
I remember finding this in Windows 10
I liked very much and decided to look it up
I have no idea how I found it in Windows 10
Well that's interesting because I have never seen this MIDI sequence on the Windows 10 operating system itself, so that sounds like a cool mystery.
This is the sound I remember, what sound map did you use?
And, kids, that is how vaporwave was invented

Jessica Allen Sad. Yeah, this song was a lot of people's childhoods, probably up there with the oregon trail.
LGR plays this Alot on his videos
It is one of LGR's all-time favorites, isn't it?

This could work in a doom map.

All of these songs sound similar to the SNES.

What soundcard did you use to record this? Or which one was emulated
Macadam Blob General MIDI MS Software Wavetable Synth.
Is this still on Windows 11?
No, because in the early 2000s, this MIDI sequence was replaced by Flourish, One Stop, and Town on Windows ME and Windows XP, and they were reused in later operating systems on and on, including Windows 11.
anyone else listening to this in 1993 while playing sim city 2000
Brad Maxwell I used to listen to this while playing Fallout 2 lol
@@FortWorthRaised I used to play Sonic 3 & Knuckles' weird PC port while blasting this on our family PC.
What’s up with the skipping?
I think it's an audio playback or recording glitch. Sorry about that.
YO WTF THIS CAME BUNDLED WITH MY WEBCAM
I loved this!!! Sounds like SNES in the 90's.
Yeah! Reminds me of the Megaman 7 sound font.
Some SNES sound are REALLY simaller to Windows' old GM (at least from what I heard, I never played SNES games).
Actually its Passport Please
I'm curious how people know these names.
Is this song on windows 98?
Yes, and if its anything like win 2k, it should be found in the "media" folder
This was played on a soundblaster right?
LGR video anyone?

A little too flat for my liking, a video on TH-cam has Passport played on a Sound Canvas SC-55 and the audio is much smoother
