Never new of the existence of this kind of gem.....a delight to see it..... I'm a huge Errol Flynn fan.....in my late sixties now but lived a full life myself and no one lived as large as Flynn himself..... there'll never be another like him....and he was a good actor......but his greatest act was his legend.
I just read David Niven's 2 books. "The Moon is a balloon" & "Bring on the empty horses" they are both great books. Some brilliant Errol Flynn stories in them.
Thank you for posting an episode of The Errol Flynn Theatre from 1956. It must have come at a time when Flynn's drinking got worse, eventually leading to his death at only 50 yrs of age. I didn't know he died that young until I read his biography. But what an actor he was, particularly in swashbuckling adventure films, and with Olivia deHavilland. There will never be another Errol Flynn.
Errol had a lot of health issues that contributed to his death…being born with an enlarged heart, suffering from recurring bouts of malaria (which he originally contracted to his time in Papua New Guinea, STDs - all of which kept him out of all 3 services in 1941…as well as chronic back pain (from injuries sustained from his own stunt work in the 30s and early 40s) and according to his own biography, he nearly died in the mid 50s after being bitten during a fight.
Imagine for a moment how pleasurable and rewarding this must have been to Errol, especially at this very troubled time in his life, to have both his wife and his only son in this production. I've been an admirer and fan of Errol's for a very long time, and this was wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing.
The series was produced in England but never given prime network time.Interesting to see Errol, Patrice and Sean together. Errol would sadly pass away two years later in 1959. He had lived a full life !!
Sean was his son by Lily Damita. He doesn't seem to have inherited much of his father's talent, (he didn't even attempt an Irish accent), but he's got his looks and had his wanderlust and sense of adventure. Like his father, he would have wanted to live any other life.
EROL FLIN MY FAVOURITE ACTOR STARRED A LOT WITH OLIVIA DEHAVALIN..HE PLAYED A GREAT ROBIN HOOD..DON WHAN..THE SEA HAWK..AND MANY MORE..NICE LOOKING MAN..AUSTRALIAN ACTOR..❤❤
I also wanted to add that the exchange @ 15:45 had to have been written from real life and not concocted by any screenwriter. It defines Errol and his limitless wanderlust.
My mother in law was a Flynn. One grandson actually looks like Errol. The family has that same self destructive tendency. Hard drinkers and smokers. But workers.
I remember these shows from my childhood in 1957, but didn't realize that Errol Flynn had only two years to live! Too bad! Also, his son Sean was a promising actor! In the Army in 1964, I saw him star in "Stop Train 349!"
@@14bonkyb Many documentaries will tell us Errol demeaned himself by appearing in these television productions. Nearly EVERY big time movie star from 20 years before did television. They knew what was coming (tv) and what was going (studio dominated movies).

That’s his son that went missing! And his third wife?!
I’ve never seen these episodes before. This is so cool!!! Errol Flynn is a legend.
I'm a big Errol Flynn fan too...This is great.... Patrice Wymore was absolutely lovely.
Errol Flynn always got a style of his own!👍

And Olivia deHavilland lived over twice as long as he did. And his son died when he was 28, as far as anyone knows.

Exactly. Very well said. You are a true fan, like me.
Watching Patrice and Sean guest star with Errol was so precious

@@44032Sean is pretending to be Irish - if you actually listen he says they lived in America and that he still goes to school there.
Flynn was not a bad actor. And definitely a charming one.
Sean was the spitting image of Errol in Looks and Mentality! He loved danger and was interested in war reporting!
Great show. I'm biased. I'm a half Irish Aussie married to a 1/4 Flynn and mostly Irish Aussie wife. Many thanks.
Sean would have become a legend, as his father!❤️😢
It's like he's role playing a wholesome domestic scene, one I think he wanted but could never live for long in the real world.
Yes. You get it.
I am his biggest fan what a man
No I am, but indeed what a man.

But, are your Flynn's from Tasmania or Ireland?
Adorable!

Worth looking for The other episodes.
Errol actually acted in several TV Dramas in the mid 1950's, including a TV Movie Western, ' Without Incident '

Looking for entire season of this. Are you in possession of the rest of episodes? anyone know where can i see the rest?
I have not found another episode yet. Chances of the complete series are very slim. But I'll keep looking. Thanks!
@@VintageFilmChannel thanks.
These attempts at 'Irish' accents are truly abysmal! But I love Errol Flynn all the same
Even Richard Gere's attempt at an Irish accent was better...lol. Still love Flynn though.
Errol verso fine carriera sempre un mito ma oramai verso la fine
He had that self destructive Irish temperament.
