Being new to Planet Coaster, this is the first "build" video I have watched and I am duly blown away at the design and construction displayed here. If I didn't know any better, I would assume you were an architect and builder in real life. Just wow. I felt like I was watching a carefully blueprinted structure going up. Really shows the vision and skill you have accumulated. I have some serious learning and practicing ahead of me! LOVE your channel. It is my go-to channel for PC. Really appreciate your work! Cheers!!
Jonti, I’ve decided to rewatch this series and I think one of the main things that stand out already about five minutes in is that you wanted this to be a relaxing exhibition into the abilities of the game, and now I understand a lot more clearly how things, especially this park, piled up and became a chore. I feel this with many of my projects too. Recently, I feel like a lot of people are going through a rebirth of creation of sorts. It’s hard being creative with no motivation and then being creative becomes a job. I hope that this rebirth continues, as I am trying to do my own as well and allow myself to feel joy without worrying about how things “turn out” so to speak. Of course we want it to look at it and think it’s amazing. But with content creation that takes such a toll on the foundations of creativity with the demand to perform. Regardless of my musings, I am so glad you’re back and I’m so happy you’ve made it through your personal storms. This series was used to get you confident with different techniques and ways to use pieces, but it was never a way to define yourself. You’re an amazing creator and person. Thank you for coming back ❤
I haven't been to Oakwood for years. It's just down the road and now the little 'un is getting more adventurous we'll have to go and visit the new kiddie bit. Very excited to see the new series.
It was pretty good. Not a lot of big rides until they built megaphobia (wood coaster). I haven't been there since just after they built the big swing thing (vertigo) and the water ride (drenched) so we're talking over ten years ago (went with my then boy friend, now husband) and I know they've built a new kiddie area (Neverland) at least since then. We're only about an hour away but our daughter is only just getting into rides etc (4) so we're probably going soon (and will suffer Peppa Pig World again next year!).
Very excited for this series! I'm already a few episodes into one with the same idea named Cedarwood Valley and thought it was funny how alike the names of our parks are!
I finally snagged this game. Got about a days worth of play time in so far, and I am having an absolute mare of a time with cutting 😂 so I’m rewatching all the videos I can find just to see how everyone else is doing it. Despite the cutting issues I’m having, I am having SO much fun! I decided to get this game to get familiar with the engine so I am prepared when Planet Zoo finally arrives, because I am all about that!
Off to a great start! Excited to see how this comes along. Since you mentioned it, I actually had an Oakwood inspired tribute build on the go a few months back. Really love these kind of lowkey, family owned parks around the Uk, great to see someone else repping the vibe!
I'm really looking forward to this series! It'll be great to see something that's more 'your' style than the ones we have in the game. The pavilion is a great start ;)
Love the thought process for this new series, Jonti. Of course, when --I-- see "Pinewood" anything in the UK the first thought is of the film studios, but hey....that's me. :)
YO! Geekism. It's Ed. I hang around Uthris's chat a lot, mod for him... Figured I owed you a sub and a LOT of catching up for this series. Nobody spoil me while I binge this!
Woot! Excited to see some more smaller scale, realistic builds. Lovely gazebo. The biggest thing when doing this "style" of build are the "behind the scenes" and "functional" details. Best of luck and can't wait to see it develop!
very nice going to be a great series. bit of trivia-Knotts started out as a one street western area best known for their jams & jellys. It had a donkey ride & a go cart ride but the cars were like 1930 style. Showin my age but when I was young it was free to get in!
Pinewood Hills, the first thing that popped into my Head was Back to the future but I thought that would be nonsense. Then I remembered THERE IS THE BTTF DLC!
how your builds are awesome. you and silvarret should Collab and create a mega park! now that is a video series i will want to watch :) Edit: nice use of the sword pieces on 9:16 I would've never thought of doing that for a spire!
I design theme parks on paper, and I have the same problem with inspiration and creativity. I end up getting stuck in the Disney format and loose track of the more LegoLand, Drayton Manor, Die Efteling, Universal Studios (etc) vibes. That aside, I like the concept and I'll look forward to more!
Can't wait to watch this series. I don't have the game yet so I'm living vicariously through you tube channels like this one. If I was to build a gaming PC to play this.....if I have a new i7 processor with 16 GB of RAM, will I see much of a performance bump between an nVidia GTX 1050, 1060, or 1070?
In short: No. To elaborate and rant: With a good GPU you can play at higher Resolutions and with more goodies turned on. But the game is basically very CPU demanding so just upgrading a GPU want help much with the CPU heavy calculations. Then again, with a highend'ish GPU the basic game will run better then a lowerend. From own experience the game doesn't run that much better with my 1080ti then it did whit the 1080 (or even 980), But i can run it more steadily at 1440p max settings then with any of the other cards, but it will still drop l,ots of FPS when the parks starts getting crowded. rant over:P
Thanks for the comments. The machine will have a 3.6Ghz i7 and 16GB of RAM. It will all come down to the video card. Will probably go in the middle with a 1060 with 6GB or Video RAM.
Should be ok, :) The 1060 is a pretty decent card to a good price. And for this game it should be enough. Just dont play it with any fps counter running. You'll only get distracted and start to fiddle with settings you dont really have to :P
likevthe idea, if i was creative i would love to make a park inspired of the really old amusment park here in sweden where i live named gröna lund. so nice park near the water conected to the capital, you can take tram bus or ferry to the park :)
I am looking forward to this series, I like the change of pace from the deliberately overly done first series. Although I love the first series I would like to see what a more realistic park can be. I just can't bring myself to watch the creation of a car park :( I'm sorry. I find it a little irritating that so much work and time is spent on something that can't be used in game by the guests. I couldn't watch Uthris's car park series either :(
+Captain Kokomo Most of the car park will actually be done off camera. Don't worry, I totally understand that it isn't the most thrilling to watch! Video time will be spend making cool stuff :)
The underside of the roof didn't bother me until you likened it to the maws of hell and then it gave me an unbearable sense of discomfort to look at. Lovely build though
Just started watching this... Question though, when building I saw you placed an archer - Why? I've seen others do this but have no idea why they do it.
Time to come back to this series for the hundredth time lol

Just discovered your channel, so I’m starting this series!
Good luck!
I, for some reason, started playing planet coaster again. So I'm back to watch all your planet coaster vids. again too :D
Wow. Good luck!

I like the name. The pavilion is awesome. Cant' wait to see this park unfold!
+KittyClaw Thanks Kitty!

Awesome great start Jonti - I may get back to my Dragon Park soon too. Thanks for the inspiration. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Drake :)
Love the thought process for this new series, Jonti. Of course, when --I-- see "Pinewood" anything in the UK the first thought is of the film studios, but hey....that's me. :)
+DL Fendel Yeah! Pinewood Studios... didn't make the connection :D
I love this series and I am watching it again
Nice first building and love the plan for the park. Looking forward to the next episode.
I could never be this creative. My brain just doesn’t see these things.
Lovely first building! Looking forward to seeing how this progresses!
+RubleTrillions Thanks man, means a lot :)
Woo Oakwood! It's 20 minutes away from me :-)
YO! Geekism. It's Ed. I hang around Uthris's chat a lot, mod for him... Figured I owed you a sub and a LOT of catching up for this series. Nobody spoil me while I binge this!
/insert spoiler here/
A promising start to a new series. Looking forward to following it as always
+Dad Rail Thanks! :)
Well, because there is no stuff left that i can watch except of Animal Crossing I decided to watch the whole Pinewood series. :)
Yeay! Another creator is going for a smaller park with the more realistic look :D really looking forward to this series :)
+LordFlanders Yay! Me too! Thanks :)

+maskedbandit102 Thanks! Already thinking up ways to add 'functional' details :)
This won’t be heavily themed- *proceeds to build a detailed building housing an archer* lol
I mean the Archer was for guest scale, and non-themed doesn't necessarily mean non-detailed.
@@codenate02 good point
Yaayyyy another planet coaster series to look forward to!
Great idea for another series! I love the time lapses with the music. I hope we will get to see much, much more.
Thanks!
Super excited to see where you end up with this!! :D Looks great. Sounds like you have thought it out!!
+CommandoSanta I have the 'feel' thought out... actual ideas or layout? Nope. Lol
Lol. Welcome to the club. I never know what I am doing! I just go and see if it looks good!

Awesome! Will definately try and instil a feeling of history like that into this park :)
Pinewood Hills, the first thing that popped into my Head was Back to the future but I thought that would be nonsense. Then I remembered THERE IS THE BTTF DLC!
+Timbo Jones Hehe, that was Twin Pines, or Lone Pine... depending on when you are watching :D
Awesome! Can't wait to see this take shape

+ Sawyer Thanks! :)
Do I sense a parking lot in the future?
Uthris Lord I hope so! I doubt he'll build it twice though.
Maybe he'll build it at a mall in the *future*
+Uthris Jesus... he's like Beetlejuice. Mention carparks and he shows up...
Uthris Yes because he mentioned car park...
Yes

This is funny cos I live kinda near a Themepark in England called PleasureWood Hills and it's quite a low budget but old Themepark.
not sure if I love or hate the little pine tree in the title, lol.
I love Oakwood it a good park!
Looking forward to it and thanks for telling us how long it took you.
+Mr MACC Thanks! Does knowing the build time help? I can try to add that in each time :)
so gassed 4 this

Love this! Do you share your assets that you build such as this one on the Steam workshop?
I think he would make a great park manager don't you all agree?
Oh boy!

Building starts at 5:53
Just started watching this... Question though, when building I saw you placed an archer - Why? I've seen others do this but have no idea why they do it.
The archer is the same size as the guests, so it helps keep buildings in scale :)
Ahh, I've just sat and watched 6 episodes, saw the archer used a couple of times. It makes sense now - thanks :)
