A human "standard of good" does not apply to the natural world... a world humans inhabit just like any other animal. WE define "good" and each person has their own idea of what good would be. As much as we human like to pat ourselves on the back, we are likely the most ruinous species that's ever existed. We're certainly NOT good for the rest of the planet. One thing Turek doesn't mention is that as far as the "natural" world is concerned, there is no good or evil, it just IS.
And it doesn't take "faith" to be an atheist. Faith is a process of belief that reaches a positive conclusion WITHOUT having ANY physical proof. It is not the burden of an atheist to Disprove god. Instead it is the theists responsibility to prove what they claim is "true/fact". If I were to make a statement of fact claiming that I have a green fluorescent unicorn in my garage, would or should people just accept that as a fact? Of course not !! A rational person should ask for physical proof. Same thing with god... where's the proof. Ideas or opinions are NOT proof. The fact that Turek could even compose and publish a book on the existence of god claiming that atheists lack faith is an intellectual argument that does nothing and goes nowhere. And the fact that others have even bought such a book indicates many who have simply have no idea of what "truth" actually consists of.
I've been reading a book on 'Natural Theology" and the author, was a Jesuit priest from decades ago. After reading just 50 pages of a 450 page book it has become obvious all the arguments presented arguing in the existence of a god are presumptuous, assumptions, the misuse of terms [like the author characterized "natural theology" as a Science and it is not]. It does not seek factual answers and conclusions but distorts the meaning of words, ideas, etc. in order to make a feeble attempt at confusing the human intellect.
