New Zealand holiday|Visiting Huka Falls:Taupo
While in New Zealand I made a journey to Napier and stopped at the magnificent Huka Falls in Taupo. The main source of the falls being Lake Taupo. A more impressive stop one just can't imagine. The roar of the waterfall is overpowering. The views stunning and the subsequent visit to Taupo and it's great lake a treat for any traveler. ~Enjoy the images I collected while there.

Hi Anita, who doesn't love a good waterfall and the colour of the water at Huka Falls is awesome. Quite the flow of water through the narrow gorge. It's not something you would want to fall in. The nearby town and lake weren't too shabby either but as long as that volcano isn't due for eruption, tho once every thousand years or so you'd be unlucky for that to happen 🙂
Hi there, lovely to read the comment. Well, that volcano is still active and does have the occasional hissy fit. I've seen the smoke and had the ash on our car. The waterfall is stunning and LOUD. Hi Anita! We must have missed this video! Those are wonderful falls and the color of the water is blue-green which reminds me of the water in the Carribean Sea. Nice! Now, if we can speed up long distance travel, visiting New Zealand would be on my list! Thanks for showing this and for all the interesting information about the Falls!

One of my favourites. I ignore the detour around Taupo - in my book, a must to stop and relax by the lake. I could easily spend a week here, so much to see and do. What a gorgeous waterfall, Anita. Loved the fast flowing river that leads to it and seeing it from the bridge looking down. Lovely lakeside town too, which we enjoyed seeing. Beautiful setting for parasailing! I did that once and it was quite relaxing once I got over the anxiety of going up! 😮😮Thanks for bringing us along.

Wow the flow of water from that waterfall is pretty incredible! I haven't heard of Huka Falls before, but it sure is pretty. I can understand why this is a popular tourist attraction. This is one of my favourite places too - pick up some food and a coffee and sit beside the lake for half an hour or so. thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories.

Hi Simon, sorry for the delay in responding. We had a bereavement and life is slowly taking on a new shape. Yes, I am always a bit sad when people arrive in New Zealand and rush down south. Wow what a place! And such high flowing water 💧 great info and stats! Hard to imagine the volume! The falls are stunning and a beautiful colour! They need to make it a tourist attraction and get everyone on rubber rings floating down them 😂 just kidding! A little fast flowing for that and we don’t want to ruin a beauty spot! Tapau looks lovely (sorry not sure we are spelling that right) wow the volcano has erupted that amount of times that’s quite a lot! Nice views at the side of the lake! The paraglided is off! It’s a cool place Taupo , last there in 2019. There are plenty of good eating places and motels . Love the falls and was half expecting to see some mad kayaker going over 😀
Haha, well I know there are some daredevils around but not sure if kayaking on the waterfall is actually permitted. Taupo is a buzzing tourist spot for sure. I always stop here on my way south. Even if it rains. Have an awesome Sunday ( evening) 👌🇳🇱🙋♀🥝

I love rivers but only those that meander through the scenery very slowly. Not keen on raging torrents.
