After liberalisation in 90s , all the world’s top cars started being manufactured in India and the old amby car died a slow death. It is truly a unique vehicle and the ride is a one of a kind experience

Very nice video. The Ambassador cars were made at a place called Uttarpara about 25 kms from Calcutta. The company which made them was owned by the Birlas and has now shut down. The Birlas literally owned Kolkata, which is why you have Ambassador taxis only in Kolkata, in no other Indian city.
