BLACK SKY GEAR! (Is it Difficult to Unlock?)

- Less than a month ago Black Sky was added to our Rig customization alongside Gold, Diamond, & Solar. But is it actually difficult to unlock or is it all smoke in mirrors? These are my thoughts on the set itself and of course the journey to unlocking it.

I swear getting 5 kills with the reaper in one go is the hardest
KoopaFlaws 4. But not as hard as you think. I was 8/10 complete then got a kill chain and it gave me both of the 2 I needed
It's 4 kills and play groundwar, way easier there.
just finished it today lol go for smaller maps and try to go close to their spawn it helped me a lot
play turista the spawns are shit so you'll kill alot of them. watch my last IW warfare for example

are you going to do a guide to each rig? I found some of the advice you gave for the hero armor in bo3 really helpful.
Centauri A for combat focus use hardcore and only do it when you see 2 more or players and make sure to flank
Go to hardcore Kill confirmed for the combat focus 500 score one, get yourself an advanced UAV up and pop combat focus, get 3 kills and 3 tags and you're done

I think Bo3 hero gear was much harder.. I remember grinding forever trying get the glitch and rejack challenges. Seems like most the IW ones come naturally. I am stuck on synaptic reaper needing 2 more quads but I've finished the rest.
James D556 yeah I was lucky on bo3 with getting glitch kills because people kept spamming nuke town and I got like 8 glitch kills in 1 game and then the next game I got 8 more and finished the hero challenge
ugh man i remember getting the armor just before hero and seeing that you had to play all the characters and i gave up ahahahahaha
Andy_roo_81 The rejack double kills really sucked. U hadda hide and wait for couple enemies walk by then blow urself up and hope they don't notice the big kush cloud ur coming out of. Lot the hero gear was a true grind unlike IW gear which ull get if u use that rig long enough.
My god the glitch challenge was a nightmare I still don’t have hero gear because I never tried to get hive kills
Pulsar challenge took me the longest. Believe it or not, I finished the ballista collaterals back when it was 5 of them and not just one.
Beaztt m8 the pulsar one wasn't that hard. For the most part, I popped it as son as I had it.

nahuel smith I just used trip mines. Just throw them at the base of doors or around corners. It's pretty easy to do. It just takes time.

Stryker is a pain. gravity vortex gun is way harder than it sounds and people destroying the micro turret cuz they have blind eye

My best price of advice for these rig challenges is really taking advantage of the hyper tdm weekends
i remember finishing the synaptic challenges during Christmas because of the genesis 24/7. really easy to get the quad reaver when everyone camps in this map lol

I got all the challenges done before they released black sky for rigs. Ironically, the first game I started to try for the collateral, I got it. I never realized how hard it could be
Just completed solar for rigs and going for black sky now. It's good to know that grenade kills count, because I just assumed it was gun kills only.
Yeah! going for the 100% is what it keeps me playing IW... I just need my Wins for Uplink,S and D, and Tactical and that's it... they do a really good job with the challenge this year.....

I did the rigs last year left the game then came back recently and decided to go for guns! So far iv done 20 in gold out of 35 and im probably doing snipers last since they will be the hardest
I too think that challenges in IW are very fun. I'm trying, like you (i guess) to complete them all
I just finished the collateral with the ballista, you just need to go into hardcore domination and staying far back from people helps. I ended up getting it right before the game started going slow motion and didn't even get the points for killing them

i get so many collateral kills on accident by treating the Ballista like a quick-scope-assault rifle, then i just go ham on the lined up enemies

Infinite Warfare black sky/solar was wayy harder than the gear but it was worth it, The reaper wind up being pretty easy once I learned it meanwhile that collateral was rage inducing but was definitely worth it when I finally got it also hardcore TDM wouldve been your best bet for getting the black sky gear faster great vid prestige also when you mentioned some challenges made you play differently than you normally would I immediately thought about using relay and the micro turret or camping with trip mines / c4 with stryker I felt so dirty lmaoo

That darn Stryker relay and Ballista Colateral are hard AF.

The pulsar stays longer when the enemy is farther away. If an enemy is on the opposite side of the wall you are one, it might not show up for that long because they are really close
I'm currently trying to get the 4x kill feeds for Synaptic's "Animal" mode, I'll call it.
Why did this show up on my recommended in 2021? I thought this was part of your road to 30.
The black sky rigs were pretty easy to get if you already had most of the rig challenges complete. I gonna say the only rig challenges that gave me a challenge was the 4 kills with the synaptic rig.
The power slide while ADS with the FTL gave me more headache than it should have. I switched between gun classes so many times. Then I would only get one or two per game.
Stryker was the hardest rig for me since I usually never run any equipment; it forced me to give up a perk or weapon attachment. The gravity vortex gun was a little hard too since they payload charged so slow; even with running overclock and the kbar - radiant.
Maybe do a guide on each rig how to get the challenges completed?
The challenge thats the biggest pain in the ass is the Get 10 4 pieces with the Reaper payload

Done nearly every challenge except for the Stryker body ones and the Pulsar Double Kills which I've got 17/25 for so far. It's just a pain because pulsar seems to be only a single scan so if any players are dead or killed when it's activated and they respawn they won't show up.
I can't do Merc, 10 double kills with the shield rushing ability
I freaked the f**k out when I FINALLY got the ballista collateral kill lol. Took me literally a couple of weeks playing a few hours every day to get it
I've been slowly grinding out black sky on the guns since day of release. And I'm closer to black sky on the armour without realising. But I'm stuck on reapers 4 kills in one use challenge 10 times.
The ballista collateral is the hardest thing to get and only need that for diamond phantom

Black sky gear was easier for me to unlock. The gravity vortex and the reaper ones were the hardest for me. Though IW did nerf a lot of the challenges because people were not getting them done. For instance, the bull charge you had to initially get 3 kills instead of 2, and the number of collaterals you had to get for the Ballista was higher if I recall correctly.
In BO3, I struggled with the glitch and rejack kills. I ended up doing glitch in DOM when enemies were taking flags. I had a C4 laid down, when it beeped, I'd glitch then blow up the C4. Worked well on nuketown and combine here the spawns flipped often. Rejack, I just had to grind it out.
Iv done both guns and rigs and time wise the guns take long but id say rigs and guns are just as hard as each other
I counted and for the 31 guns not including shotguns you have to do almost 5000 headshots total
im working on the black sky gear i have 4/6 done so im almost there

I got the Double with Ballista after 5 Games even tho I suck at sniping by far the hardest Challenge is on Synaptics 10 Quad kills With the Reaper Load
I feel like IW would've been better if they launched the game as it is right now. I'm having a lot of fun playing it recently and I feel they have made a lot of progress from when it launched.
The Synaptic reaper kills are the hardest to me.

Phantom and Nomad are my disadvantage. I can't even get 3 kills with the Nano insect pods. I have Every hero gear In BO3. I have completed almost every rig gear in IW. I find BO3's hero gear a hell of a lot difficult. Everyone is already skilled in that game and they know their roots and spots.

In my case, i found BO3 Hero challenges much harder than IW Rig Challenges. I was struggling with BO3 for a while to unlock every hero gear. And in IW its been sooo easy so far.. And im like 2 or three challenges away from solar rigs. Also done black sky. And almost every single challenge. Its been far more easier in IW than BO3.

I'm working on getting all weapons maxxed out and getting Black Sky for all items(or at least Diamond) and it's gonna be a heck of a journey. I only have the ERAD and OSA gold right now, Gold Warfighter and Synaptic Head, and Diamond Merc.
The last 2 "Get 500 score with Combat Focus" progress is the bane of my existence :/ I've been running a payload-heavy build to maximize it(Guns with Hitman, Head Rush, or Trample), and I keep getting ~400 score before it runs out. Does Hardline count, because I've gotten 500 score with Combat Focus+Hardline and it didn't seem to count.

Cannot do that challenge because I think it's bugged.
It's doable, since I've gotten ~7 progress marks since the last update(started with 16/25 and I'm currently at 23/25). But I do think it may be bugged.

I’m 3 Classic weapons and 1 Rig body away from Black Sky.
I'm at solar and going for black sky. I've tried doing it in free for all and I got to 29 my first match. Ticked me off because I was just about to Finnish my final kill when the match ended. 😣
Last weekend I got 501 score but it didn't get count towards the damn progress
Right now, I have Diamond for Merc and FTL and I'm getting close to unlocking Diamond for Synaptic, Warfighter and Phantom and then there's Stryker, fuck Stryker
I think this was a lot easier than hero in bo3 i got black sky easily and got it in 1 game of core dom after earning solar the game before
i cant even do the flippin combat focus i got daimond on merc tho
Reddeadskull 80 play frontline each kill is 125 points so with combat focus 2 kills should get your progress up
I got that easily playing domination. This is how i use to did it. I use persistent trait to get UAV and CUAV and I use them until i capture the flag. Once the capture flag meter is halfway i turn on the combat focus then quickly find a couple of swans to reach 500.

I found the Combat Focus to be ridiculously hard. I saw people saying to go into Domination and get it by activating it just before you capture an enemy flag and then kill one player, and of all the Dom games I played, I never got any progress on it, so I did it all in TDM. In TDM, you have to get 3 kills within the duration to get enough points, and while getting 3 kills in like 15 seconds isn't that hard (I got countless triple kills and quads while trying to do this challenge but hardly ever while Combat Focus was active), the moment I activated it my luck would plummet and I couldn't find enough players to kill to get 500 points or I'd get killed because I was almost out of time and had to force myself out into the open looking for kills
Getting 4 kills with one Reaper activation was really hard too. You seemingly get no boost to health and everyone can hear and see you coming a mile away, so getting up close to people was tough, and if the enemy had a shotgun, there was no hope of getting that kill unless they aren't good. It was also hard to find 4 people within the duration. Oftentimes, I would flank and get behind the whole enemy team, activate Reaper, and they would all end up running away (probably didn't even know I was coming honestly) and I'd only get like 2 kills with it. There's also some issue with Reaper where even though it's a melee payload, you can completely miss the enemy if you're touching them, so that made it very frustrating since I don't have time to keep trying to hit one person or they would kill me because I can't hit them
Infinity Ward also put the number of times you have to do something way too high for these challenges. There's the Stryker challenge that says you have to get 100 kills on enemies that have been pinged by your equipment. This pretty much forces you to camp by your equipment the entire game, and if no one comes over to where you are, then no progress for you. There's also the challenge for getting 2 kills with the micro turret 50 times. You'll probably get 2 kills with most turrets you place, but it's still a lot of turrets you gotta use over however many matches it takes, plus it's not even a challenge considering you don't have to actually do anything to earn it, you just gotta hope the enemy team keeps throwing themselves at it without trying to kill it
So far, I've got diamond with Warfighter, Merc, and Synaptic, and I'm almost done with FTL (which is the easiest of all the rigs to get diamond in my opinion). So far, I find that the "challenges" really aren't even challenges, many of them come down to pure chance rather than player skill like a challenge should be. You can flank a whole team and activate your payload, but it's pure chance that your teammates won't kill any of the enemies you're trying to kill and it's pure chance that the enemy team just happens to seemingly disappear the moment you activate it. The rig challenges really haven't been enjoyable at all, so I'm glad that I'm over halfway done with them and slowly but surely approaching Black Sky

Prestige please help! How do u get 4 kills with Synaptic's reaper in 1 use 10 times? Tips? Ground war isn't that great cause u get melted cause of all the players

I am stuck on the Warfighter combat focus body. All the other things are easy to do.
Lame_pun 456 Last time I did it, it glitched on me and counted none of the stuff that I did. I play hardcore and I have the epic UAV and I use hardline too and even like that none of my stuff counted. I've been stuck on 10 out of 25 for a while now.
So... Your telling me black sky gear was already in development when bo3 was released?
