Happy you went with them. They have been my go to for at least 10 years now.
They were a good purchase. Thank you for your advice! Scott
Currently wearing the troxels while watching this video. Installinging some cabinets. I do like them and their customer service is pretty good. Had a new pair fail and they sent a replacement no fuss
That's great. I sent them a link to this review video a while ago. They never replied. That said most companies don't. They just like the free publicity. I will probably buy another pair as well. I do think they've made an improvement on my right knee problems. Cheers, Scott
Thanks buddy. Always looking for a good set of knee pads
Thank you. Glad the video was helpful. Scott
Hi sir, i'm a water meter reader in France and would like to know if the Troxell supersoft knee pad would be suited for my job ? Thing is I Walk a lot (around 6 - 7 miles a day) and I want to know if it would not slip while walking. Thanks .
Although I have never walked that distance in the Troxells I would say, yes. They stay in place better than any knee pad I've tried and they wouldn't be too uncomfortable walking. Thanks for reaching out, Scott
I'll snag a pair then. Didn't found any reliable alternative. Thanks be well.
@ good. Let me know what you think once you try them. Cheers Scott
The clc soft pads are my go to pads.(The clear ones) They seem to last longer than most of the readily available ones from big box stores. My work pays for safety gear so when the straps start to go I just get a new pair and turn in the ticket.
That's ideal that your employer pays for them. I had those clear ones for quite some time before the tabs broke off. I can't seem to find them anymore. Thank you for commenting. Scott
Gunlach or toxell the best knee pads ever
@@Sangre.Nuestra I will have to check out the Gunlach. Thx for letting me know. Scott
The used gel kneepads look like CLC brand knee pads. $25-$30. They're good, but the rubbery silicone straps do get lost and do wear out. I like the CLC''s best of the ones I've tried so far. Those silicone straps work well. They give. They last work better than elastic fabric bands and definitely better than velcro-fastened bands. I have yet to find knee pads that don't make the back of my knees hurt. If they have straps good enough to stay up during work, they also constrict around my leg to where it hurts after awhile. I have a clean set of kneepads for working on nice floors; a set for outside in the dirt, sand and mud; and a set with a hard shell for working on concrete. Those Troxells look interesting to try. That wide band might be the answer.
Thank you for the comment. Yes I've found no irritation on the back of my knee from the Troxells. (And I have noticed that with the other knee pads for sure!) I've been using The Troxells for several hours continuously too. Cheers, Scott
Best are the ones that slip inside your pants, granted I use strapped ones for summer work with shorts
Thanks Brett, I've had those too. And they do work well. Had a pair of Blaklader pants years ago. Just don't have any pants that take pads at the moment. Cheers, Scott
Never heard of Troxell. May have to check them out. One suggestion regardless which knee pads you have, if you are the kind that nested one inside of the other when storing them and then uses the strap to hold them together, try not to stretch the strap any more than necessary to keep them together, otherwise you will prematurely wear out the strap without even wearing them. And I don't mind an occasional tool review especially if it something unique.
Thank you for the storage tip. As soon as I read this it registered. I went out to my tool trailer and made sure the straps weren't too tight. But good tip for sure. I'd never heard of Troxell either until someone following my channel told me about them. Problem still remains that young carpenters think they'll never get old! Cheers, Scott
@@scottearlsmithFTC Yeah, my problem is that now that I'm old I forget to go get my knee pads until I'm almost done. I can't win.
@@t.e.1189 Hahaha. Forgetting things - and forgetting where you put them - is definitely an old-man thing!
Try platinum knee pads
Thank you. I will Google them. Scott
Thanks for the review. Helpful
@@timothysmith3348 Thank you Timothy!
Best for rafter crawling ?
James, I'd say those Troxell's would be my choice as well. Cheers, Scott
Honestly the best person to review knee pads would be Kamala Harris
Now that is funny!
