I'm gonna have to jump in here, a year later unfortunately. A small distro selling merch is hardly going to profit significantly, so threatening them is uncalled for. Secondly, assuming they did make quite a bit of money, who cares? If A.P.P.L.E. were true to their ideals, they wouldn't care that someone is making money "off them" as long as their message is out there, right? It's a shame that nowadays a lot of artists from the past are losing sight of what they once stood for!
I'm broke!!!! I've been living off public assistance, food stamps, and medicaid. I don't even have any money to make my own merch! It'd be nice at least if a distro would contact me and send me a couple of shirts or pins or patches of MY OWN BAND! I never lost sight of what I still stand for! Don't think for a minute that I have. I'm 48 years old and have no family, everyone is dead. No one helps me in this world but myself. I WISH I could have sold out something....then I wouldn't have to be living in upstate NY in a town with a population of 450 people cuz I got priced out of my own damn neighborhood in Brooklyn. Get your facts straight before you pass judgement. It isn't easy being a political activist....that usually means you end up BROKE. Where's my mansion? In fairy land that's where. I'm no different than anyone else I just happened to take the time with my OWN money to make a record or two that talks about my core beliefs and oh yeah....I was only 15 when the band started.....just a fucking kid. Now I'm an old skool punk who is just trying to live life and still fighting for what's mine.
