Great video! Thanks for sharing. Vicious Shadows is an incredible card for the deck as you make tons of creatures for everyone which can deal massive damage when they all die to a board wipe or forced combat.
I know, right? He's crazy for Naya since you could essentially not worry about opponents attacking you once you goes them all. He has the potential to end games pretty quickly.
I was thinking of using him as a bit of Aikido control commander, Flash creatures, and Deflecting palm/ Comeuppance style effects when your opponents think you have let down your guard. Keeping mana open and playing an instant speed style Naya deck seems quite intriguing to me. Hopefully it can be the Queen Marchesa I always wanted haha
That seems like a good direction too. However, keep in mind that if you're goading all of your opponents' creatures, there's a high chance that they won't be attacking you unless they drop something with haste before they attack with their goaded creatures. So those goaded creatures won't be attacking you during their turn. That being said, aikido cards could be a good back up plan just in case anything does come your way.
I've kept the C19 deck stock but now it makes me want to dismantle and try my own build around Marisi lol. thank you for showing me your perspective on it
Thanks! Glad you liked it! Yeah, I built this in real life a couple of years ago. Here's the updated list from my personal collection. (I'm going to swap out Daryl for Hansk when WOE comes out.) www.moxfield.com/decks/FskGY7dYIUG838oPEFEEEQ Maze's End is viable in 3-colors now. So it's a great way to close out games when it's down to 1v1 because goad doesn't prevent an opponent from swinging into you. So if you're unable to deal with the survivor from your combat puppeteering, Maze's End comes in clutch. You can also just use it to win off the bat, but watching opponents scramble when their whole board is goaded is much more fun 😈
Not a problem mirri could be worth testing since shes both offensive allowing you to get attacks through easier and defensive as well if opponents decide to attack you, making them use one creature on you alone..even sigarda could help gives you hexproof and stops you from having to sac yiur own creatures, and even odric master tactician. Just a few other suggestions to check out as well :)
@@wolfie766 Mirri's good as a backup plan in case Marisi is taken out and you can't recover in time to prevent getting attacked. In my build I don't worry much about getting attacked since Marisi's trigger is a delayed one. So even if opponents are able to get rid of it during their turn, they still have to attack each other and not you. But if Marisi isn't around every turn then things can get pretty dangerous. So I agree that finding a slot for Mirri (or similar effects like Crawlspace) would definitely be worth considering.
Ooh! That's right! He's technically unblockable but basically also has shroud from creatures. So no creature would be able to target it either. Plus, he's cheap to cast. Definitely a great suggestion! Thanks!
I wanna see your take on Tana, the Bloodsower and Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder. They are such a wonderful Naya token commanders, the best cards in this deck is Bravado (Just an amazing synergistic card growing your insane board state)/Sunbond (If Bruse Tarl entered and targets Tana). Nemesis Mask is also amazing, equip Bruse Tarl with it and let him attack, since you want your Bruse Tarl to enter again it's ok if he just dies. and opening the opponents entire board to Tana and her immense saproling army.
Hm, seems pretty interesting indeed. If that were the main strategy then maybe adding more cards with lure so that Tana can swing in without anything blocking her. That could definitely be a good shell to build around. And have the tokens synergize afterwards with other secondary strategies. Maybe I might brew something with those partners in the future. So far this season I've made 3 videos on RGW commanders so maybe after a couple of videos with other color combinations I'll get back to Tana + Bruse Tarl.
I had this built with 25+ pump spells (like Invigorate and Mutagenic Growth) and spells for protection (Heroic Intervention, Boros Charm, Teferi's Protection, Blossoming Defense etc.). It was able to hit easily for 10+ damage quite early and even if Tana got killed after, I had many tokens left (Echoing Courage, Sigil Blessing, Beastmaster Ascension etc. helped here) and a backup plan with Bruse Tarl who was able to alpha someone with just two pumps if things went right.
@@SamuelKacerik Those are definitely some cool ideas. What's great about RGW is that you have access to spells that pump and protect. I think that's a very interesting path to choose for Tana + Bruse. I'm definitely getting lots of ideas from you guys so a Tana + Bruse deck tech is definitely in the works! I have a couple of upcoming videos to release and a couple of others to finish. But it's definitely something I'm gonna get on!
@@TheCommanderTavern Hmm, Tana and Reyhan is also pretty powerful, but a very fragile strategy converting creatures into +1/+1 counters to make an infinite loop this way with additional benefits as purphoros/impact tremors and blood artist/zulaport cutthroat/Grave Pact. Krav is an all-star in this deck synergising really well with the Tana saprolings to make himself big, then sac himself so Reyhan triggers and put all those +1/+1 counters on Tana.
@@icetea214 Ooh! That sounds really interesting as well. I totally concur. It's ability is unique and very abusable. When running smoothly games tend to end quickly since no one can attack you and you're able to attack everyone else who's getting attacked. It's still a battle-based RGW commander, but it's a new take on it. You don't even need to be harsh with it, just forcing people to attack is enough and opponents don't feel like they're being oppressed.
@@TheCommanderTavern on release we had a play group of 5. 4 of the players were using primal gen and they let us have the 3 tri color legendaries in the command zone. There were a lot of marisi shenanigans
