I love how melancholic this song is at the start, and how it take a cynical turn halfway through.
Nashimoto's stuff is always so relatable to me and for real it is sad that as I type this people are dying and I care but I don't care because I don't know them, and that makes me feel bad about myself, but at the same time when I die people will feel the same way. What's also sad is people who were once a part of my life who I no longer have anything to do with, might be dead right now and I don't even know it..

@@Cheeseburger11-11 no that's just what's he's talking about in the chorus, that people die who he doesn't know and it being sad how it's almost inconsequential to him because they were just some stranger to him.

i have a small theory,
so in the beginning, the person apologizes for having a nice happy life. And explains that someone somewhere, is dying. i think it refers to the moments where you don't feel your best, like when your depressed or having trouble in life, but keep comparing yourself and your life to other's lives, and see how you should be thankful for the things others don't have. This can be the result of parents that keep telling you you don't have anything to complain about and that you should be happy with what you have cause others may not have the chance to obtain the things you have, a classic example (finish your plate, don't throw out food, some people in this world don't have enough to get food, and look at you, my child,that i raised so well, telling me he's/she's/they're not hungry!).and so this impacts the child's behavior ,of course, the impact varies on how the child understands the message, but still, parents should always be here for the child whatever the problem is.family and friends should accept people as they are too. But it doesn't apply to everyone apperantly.what a world we live in.

but is it deep? I mean this is just how things are, we tend to not care what happens to people we dont know. You cannot feel sorry for every tragedy on earth, there is just too much of it.

Yep, and nothing we can do about it, just the way of life. It'd be absurd to stay permanently sad because of this, no one could function like that. I like how this song is about allowing that sadness for the moment, but resigning oneself to moving on in the end and saying it's alright this way.
