I don’t think that dof will ever have ethereals. The reason I think so is because the mythicals. I think what happened was the handlers wanted to add some different class of monster to dof, but ethereals weren’t canonically in that time, so they added mythicals. Also considering that the ethereals have been around since before dof released and still aren’t in it, while the mythicals are and aren’t that old, I think this checks out.
Ethereals (only Singles and Doubles) actually did exist during DOF, and even were made before Naturals and Fires. They just didn’t leave The Pocket Dimension until after The Cataclysm.
