You're an idiot. First of all refuse to review a bike because it's illegal, 90% of people ride them regardless. Second, you compare riding an ebike that doesn't harm anyone but it's just a stupid law, compare that to murdering people.
This is exactly that reason why you can't review and advice a non legal bike! Actually I do love this road legal version because yeah based on registered specs this bike can go on the road legally..which is a huge deal! But when unlocking it it can do more at own risk! Which to me is awesome as I don't need to buy additional stuff, whatsoever and it can be both to whatever I need it to be. I think engwe did a decent decision making here. Its looking really practical and beefy and that suspension you also do not see that often in this price range. Sturdy fatbike that goes without a worry and goes quicker when no one is around 😂

Looks great fun Graham, if I ever become a Grown Up Vlogger 😂😂 I may get to try one. I don’t know much about e bike legalities, I’m leaning all the time. 👍
Some really interesting points there Graham which probably highlights to need for people to try before you buy or at least have a return if unsuitable. Weight has to be the big factor but the ride and handling especially for inexperienced riders is the most important. The bottom bracket drive either via chain or belt is certainly the smoothest and most bike friendly handling but that's not just the motor. The bigger wheels and the drive via the normal drivetrain make a massive difference. With both rear wheel and front wheel motors, the bigger the wheel the better but that snatch of acceleration to start definitely has improved over the years with better quality wheel motors. There is also a real difference depending on which wheel drives. Some might prefer that more stable front wheel pull rather than rear wheel push but the downside to front is the heavier steering. Looks a nice bike Graham and one for the on the Consider list . Nice review 👌
Hello Graham both of us had folding bikes same fold down handle bars same frame folding point no electric motors though, we found them awkward we strapped the front wheel when folded to the rear wheel with nylon webbing straps, but yes very nice bike you have there, could be a potential purchase in the coming months, it is the weight that is the draw back , Clive
Thanks for watching Clive. It's a fun bike, I think some other bikes are lighter, but you need to be a bit careful with the weight some manufacturers claim their bikes are…
Great vid. Currently trying to decide over this Engine X and PVY Z20 plus, Not sure if this is comparable to the Z20 500 or 1000 version. Engwe seem to have less people reporting there are faults with them from what I have watched so far.
I had the chance to ride both Engine X and the Z20 Plus - 1000. The Z20 Plus has a much more aggressively tuned engine and gives quicker and stronger support on an incline. The Engine X is however really completely road-legal and the throttle for example can be set to 6 kilometer/hour speed max which is the european allowed max for a throttle. I am not sure if this has been updated yet on the Z20 Plus, the version I had went up to full speed - which is not legal. When you unlock the bikes, the Z20 Plus is an absolute crazy beast that's faster than scooters and you jump away especially with the throttle to full. The Engine X is equally comfortable as the Z20 Plus and can be unlocked too, its just slightly less crazy-beast. Biggest downside on the Engine X are the mechanical breaks. Overal build quality I do think that Engwe Engine X is slightly better than the Z20 Pus. So.... each has plusses and minusses. If you keep both bikes at legal speeds than probably the Engine X is the one to go for. If you plan to unlock, the Z20 Plus 1000 for sure. But be ready to do some maintenance.
Looks like a good bike to use for work and put in the car and cycle track. Use joys of bristol 😂 and being unfit from covid. It's nice to see someone doing a 250 watt bike and I have been looking to buy great vid
Hello, once folded, does the rear wheel move forward? do you think it is possible to create something to tilt the folded bike and push it by rolling it on the rear wheel like for the Fiido x model for example? this could be a solution to move it on a train or other public transport
Range depends on weight of the driver, road surface, amount of wind, inclines or flat, amount of peddling you do to actually support the bike or if you just move your feet to keep the sensor triggered. Etc. So its difficult. But usually as a rule of thumb, take the factory promise and devide by 2 to get something more or less realistic.
Thanks for watching. I haven't had the chance to try putting it in my boot. It will fit in the boot of our GLE. I just dont know how easy it would be at 31kg 🤷♂️
Thanks for watching. It's a great bike, especially as you can enable all the restricted stuff easily when not on public roads, and then disable them once more.
I got this bike for 999 pounds brand new in London with free helmet, also I found Engwe official service provider is in London Brixton. I have got a coupon if any of you are intrested. Let me know. Thanks
The engine x is not really a 250watt ebike though is it. 48v x 18amp Controller is about 864watts of peak power. I think engwe are being investigated by the a.s.a and maybe some legal action is in the pipeline.
Thanks for watching. I'm wouldn't be surprised, I can only go on the information I have. Info like the weight is very hard to find, but it's not just Engwe.
@CaravanVlogger I'm not complaining though, I've unlocked everything on mine and have a second battery connected too giving 23ah in total. I love the torque! done about 112 miles on it so far and all seems good.

Nice review 👌
Thanks for watching Alan, hope you're both keeping well.
@CaravanVlogger Can't complain... we both woke this morning still breathing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Coffeevaners that's the spirit, everything else is a bonus 😆🤔
Keep looking and really think I need to try one before buying as they are expensive if not right model etc so agree with you on the first bit

Looks very nice and great fun. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching...
Looks decent, nice review, I like how easily it seems to fold/unfold. 👍
Thanks for watching. Yes its a bit of a beast, if it was lighter it would be perfect instead of very good…

Personally I think it’s too big and heavy to use for commuting etc. It’s a bit of a beast…
Nice review but can you add range test for the reviews in the future, as for many of us range is the most important thing
buy another battery, one to go and one to go back.

Does this fit in the boot of the car easily? Looks good although you might get mistaken for a delivery rider.

Thanks. Remember to bend the knees. We have a Sorento so I am sure it will fit. Not sure the dog will be happy sharing the boot with it.
It would be nice to have one but I live in NZ and I havent seen this make of bike out here . I hope you get many hours of fun from it
Thanks for watching. It's a great bike, especially as you can enable all the restricted stuff easily when not on public roads, and then disable them once more.
What’s it like on steep hills ???
Many thanks
It’s managed all hills I’ve been up. Hard to judge what you consider steep though 🤷🏼♂️
What was the weight of this again!p? Thankfully I’m young and fit so don’t need electrical assistance 😂
Thanks for watching.

Oh ok, cool, do sometimes get some negative feedback on ebikes. 2nd battery, now that’s a good idea 💡 👍🏻Yeah cracking bike 🚴
Great review. We have Brompton's non electric. I must say that bike go's like stink.🤡
Thanks for watching. I did look at Brompton eBikes bit I can't get to grips with the little wheels. They are super practical and light though
I agree the Brompton electric is super expensive though. Don't know why that is the case as only a battery and small motor.
I'm not sure it suits a "caravan" vlogger. Would make more sense for a "motorhome" vlogger😉
Good review spoilt by totally inappropriate music.
Thanks for watching, sorry the music wasn’t to your taste.
