this is something that looks like SM is trying a lot lately, they did the same thing in Jopping and its really cool because its constantly building up and never having a resolution. its like a build up to the rest of the album.

The fact that Kai's abs has been making everyone upset lol.
Also the guy Chanyeol was fighting was himself. This whole video is them fighting against the evil versions of themselves. When they're in the vibrant colors it's their other selves...Like evil alien versions. If you watched the last few seconds you'll see the planet burning.
Also x exo ( the sexy versions) seems to be an extension of them. Theres a scene where Sehun tries to kill his double but the arrows are turned back on himself. Also towards the ending we see the exo members slowing turning to the dark. (Watch the lyrics) Then the ending scene where the dark side eventually takes over and kills the exo members. (Notice how the exo members in black snap there necks and the video ends on the x exo members.)
I know people are basically saying Kai should take off his shirt but I love the crop top looks he gives. 🥺

I don't know if anyone has told you about exø which are clones of exo this music video is supposed to be exø and not the real exo and that is why you see members fighting themselves and all the scares on their faces.
I like to think the clones represent the darkness that we all have...like the dark and angry and sad voices we have that constantly push is down and crush our dreams...i hope I'm right!

it does for sure take a few listens to get used to the different sound of the chorus but i find it very interesting. it's uncommon in kpop for an upbeat heavy base song to have a more vocal heavy chorus. overall i think very good👌

The more I watch it, the whole concept gives me lotto and monster era feels about a "Man's obsession with his lover"....especially in the beginning when it says "Oh I want you". After listening to the digital album, I was obsessed with it before it even came out. it's the title track of EXO's 6th album with the same name. This song brings trap bass blend with synthwave and jazzy accapella influences similar to their 2018 track "Tempo" with a vocal refrain running throughout the song. Lyric-wise it comes as a warning toward an ex-lover or friend, corrupt media, SAESANGS and Anti-fans to stay away avoiding entitlement which is a constant issue among the kpop community. The track was released with an MV that fits their album wide storyline as a whole! My biases Kai, Baekhyun, Lay and Sehun but I love & support the whole group.
They are shown fighting Red Force clones of themselves (their innerselves) which don't seem to share the same superpowers as the members...the two clones that have similar powers is bad Baekhyun & Chanyeol.

The only three actually fighting are Baekhyun, Chanyeol and Sehun but the other three aren't.

I loved the song and MV!! It's different, but in a good way XD And the storyline is basically about X-EXO (their clones) vs. EXO. That's why you see them in 2 very different looks lol.

I saw one fan theory video (before the MV dropped) based on the concept trailer. The creator basically made some valid points in the members' darker selves correlating with different Egyptian Gods.
Also, ATEEZ's "HALA, HALA" has a murderous neck snap.
The chorus is the "Thousand Nights" part. I can't be the only one who knew that was the chorus from the first listen.

Especially how they found a way to incorporate their amazing vocals. Also that sparkly (?) sound effect you said you didn't like (same lol) is textbook SM style. I'm always hoping it's not there but the quality of the songs always top that lol. You should def check out the album and let us know what you think!

Chen is possessed by his own vocals really he looks amazing very beautiful man evil or good his superpower is thunder(his voice in my opinion) also the lenses OMG

Bad side of Sehun is sitting on that chair full of arrows and then the arrows coming back on good Sehun's chest that's scenary is good for a movie, it's really representative his superpower is wind so it makes sense for me

I like the bridge a lot and I like thet SM gave Sehun opportunity to sing with Chen which is great, we know that in the past he didn't recieved many lines but now victory.

Obsession comeback was planned early 2016 but since lee soo man planned exo group year 2006 before debuting i think all concept comeback of EXO was already planned.
Watch MAMA, old old EXO vid it has the origin story in the beginning and shows their powers.

(I’m a huge fan of theirs lmao) Take their song QUEER for example, where the heavy instrumental & Kevin and Matt go crazy with the “Don’t go runnin’ your mouth” and then it transitions into the very soft sound & Kevin and Ryan Beatty with the “And Waco is far away, I don’t even mind,” like those type deals yknow? I really love songs that are experimental like that, especially with both KPOP and alternative music haha

But there's this thing called the Red Force, who are trying to mess with Exo, so they made clones of Exo who are called XEXO and that's what Obsession shows. When the members have the scars and shit, that's X Exo, the clones. The ones who are in black are normal EXo and they're fighting with their clones.

- *BOTH* EXO-K & EXO-M version of the MAMA music video
- the music video for Power *BUT* anyone unfamiliar with their powers should watch the trailer "POWER RF_05" before watching Power (because not only does it set up the music video plot, but also give a rundown of the 8 members in that music video's powers)
EXO also has amazing VCRs during their concerts that demonstrate them using their powers and build on their story~~~

There’s videos that explain, but you have to somewhat piece it together. Each member has a power, then there’s the Red Force, there was a capturing of the members in order to try to clone them, shit got cray, now it’s the originals battling the evil clone versions. For example, Chanyeol’s power is Fire. So in his scenes, him and his X-self are battling it out using fire.
