So im drawing a comic book on the assassination of the swedish prime minister 34 years ago and tonight, before i sat down to draw, i opened the second book of the black/white Ultimate TMNT Collection, just to be inspired by some of that TMNT artwork that Eastman drew with Laird as far as 36 years ago. And the first thing i see in my TH-cam feed is this interview. Needless to say, im a huge fan and have so much respect for Kevin Eastman!
When I was in Massachusetts for an interview at Kaybee Toys, I flew into North Hampton. They just happened to be having some type of festival that day, and I saw Eastman's Batmobile parked in the festival. I went, did my interview, then came back to North Hampton and added an interview at Kitchen Sink... even though they weren't hiring. I remember Denis asking if I knew where the film negs for Zot! where, because they were working on their collection at the time.
Kevin is the man! I hope he comes back for a part 2. I'm not really sure where I'd be as an artist if I hadn't fallen in love with the Turtles when I was a kid.
I was the Graphic Designer/Senior Staff at the Museum when it was on Main St. I'm not sure if we ever met. But I'm super jazzed to SUB your channel. Your work freaking great!

I have recently discovered this interview series. It is infectious in its enthusiasm and the questions are honest and the love of comics comes through. I always learn a little something about Kevin when he gives interviews. I had the distinct pleasure of working with him and the Mirage crew during the tail end of the "independent creator" era. I loved the Words and Pictures Museum and wish that it caught on. At the time, I thought it was ahead of its time - for comics which were still struggling to gain widespread acceptance in the mainstream. Great Kevin interview. Thank you for this series!

My cousin's TMNT color reprints from First Comics were my first knowledge of self-publishing! That was very important to me as a young cartoonist in the early '90s.

TWD is probably the closest success story to TMNT (and they are both often written using an acronym)

my first foray into drawing comics was tracing TMNT comics when i was 10. I still warm-up by drawing ninja turtles 30 years later. Great interview!
