    Great video. Love old history like this. Especially Route 66 stuff. The audio was a bit off though when interviewing the woman. Thumbs up. 👍

      @@TheManeUnicorn I don’t use a phone for audio I have wireless mics I take on the road. I just only have 2 and both Ron and I had 1 each so that’s why I was holding the mic trying to interview her but then there was a huge fan blowing right next to us that’s why it was hard to hear.

    I took the time to leave the highway and drive through as I moved from DenCO to Kingman area. People will move to rural Arizona to RETIRE. Great quality of life. Prices seem high because Ash Fork is close to Flagstaff which has the school, and is full of new construction, growing and GROWING!
    Welcome to Arizona, friends!

    I enjoyed your presentation. Good Job. Check this out.. My mom and dad lived in Ash Fork for 21 years. Moved there in 1947. Dad was a teacher in the high school. I lived there my first six years. We moved away in 1968. By then, dad was a School administrator, and he volunteered for the fire dept. My childhood memories of Ash Fork are great. That was when 66 still went right through town, and before most of the business district burned down. My dad was Frank (Doc) Glotfelty.

      Thank you for sharing. I am in the process to possibly purchase a couple acres in Ash Fork! I am very concerned now about the permitting process with Coconino County. Sigh. They seem quite aggressive. Anyone know anything about this?

    The old building across from the post office, was last an apartment building. I lived on the top floor in the middle. First floor was a couple in the middle right under me. We were the first to live there. 1986.

    I'm grandparents lived in Ash Fork. Marshall Trimble published a book about Ash Fork and my grandparents, mother, aunt and two uncles are on page 75. I used to spend summers there and miss this beautiful town. Now, at 60 years old, my parents and grandparents gone, might be time to return to my roots. Love to help build the town back to a beautiful place for people to live and visit.

      I am in the process of purchasing 2 acres up the road in Coconino County (5 minutes from Ash Fork downtown). I am worried about the county permits required to build habitable place. I got the word today there are many diagrams and permits required. I am worried. I am not ultra rich at this moment.

    To me, it's doubtful that Ash Fork will ever recover. Those lot prices (that's what they are; the buildings are beyond recovering) are way too high. No septic system and water is in short supply in Ash Fork. But, nobody wants to take "the hit" and consequently don't get sold.

    • @sergethepurge9425
      @sergethepurge9425  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah that’s unfortunately true. The prices in the town for real estate are unreasonable. Thanks for watching

      As it turns out, as a result of this video, Yavapai County officials have started looking into revitalizing Ash Fork and bringing them much needed infrastructure! I’ve been in contact with a man who works at the county, and he says his office has become very invested since the video came out. We’ll see how it goes!

    A scene from the movie The Universal Soldiers movie opens in 1969 in Vietnam, when the soldiers are dispatched during the war. However, though incredibly realistic, none of the scenes were actually filmed in this Southeast Asian country. Instead, the filmmakers filmed at a golf course in Kingman, Arizona, to serve as the Vietnam setting. They simply added fake jungle foliage to the Universal Soldier film set to create the backdrop they needed for the scenes. Principal photography began in August 1991 in Arizona, which was one of the primary filming locations of Universal Soldier. It was also filmed on location in Ash Fork. One of the actors I smacked around was a foreigner named Jean-Claude Van Damme, who made the mistake of running his mouth, he and his entourage of euro sissies tried to press charges against me, but the Cops and them agreed to mutual combat with no charges filed, and I still have his fake tooth that my old lady pulled out from between my knuckles when she bandaged my hand the next day.

    some of the problems with ash fork goes back to three family's running the do and dont for the town for many years . things are changing. another problem is the post office is to small and the new one has not even broken ground yet. they need a market in town as well. you have to remember there were many brothels in town back in the day. you review is okay there is a lot you missed but so be it
