The sincere attempt by Hollywood with its high production values to represent life in Colombia 20 years ago combined with mostly Latin American actors all speaking Spanish is a first. The wacky accents from the diverse cast cause great amusement in Colombia but inadvertently make people all over the continent feel the show is representative of ALL of their experiences. Not necessarily the drug war of course but the broad cultural similarities of all of these countries.
