    Apart from the product this presentation is about, the style of the man making it is the epitome of professionalism, which of course is revealed in the incredible quality of the mix

    It's amazing the quality of coaching you can get nowadays. Free lesson from a top pro, gotta love it. I just compared the Amek to the Elysia Alpha, Shadow Hills and the Townhouse... and this was the one for me. It really adds some life.. you really notice when you bypass it and everything feels flat. Already using the SSL 9000J's on channels - and the Townhouse on the mix bus was like SSL overkill lol. Shadow Hills was incredibly punchy at first listen, I could see it being amazing for hard hitting music styles but was too much for my style. This and the AMEK EQ250 on the mix works for me. What else should I audition?

      @@PluginAllianceTV trying out the SPL PQ together with the Iron... very tasty combo. Also trying the Bettermaker; sounds fab but honestly struggling with the visual appearance, the way the knobs have a reflective stripe is confusing to the eye as it almost looks like a setting on the dial. Not just being picky, I am finding it visually challenging to work with whereas with the SPL I can instantly see what is going on at a glance. I have a feeling Bettermaker might be good on individual instrument channels - my first instinct is acoustic guitar, yet to try.

      Depending on your DAW, many of our plugins automatically switch between mono or stereo mode. Please note that some hosts don't support monaural channels.

    So what piece of hardware is the plugin emulating???

    • @PluginAllianceTV
      @PluginAllianceTV  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In line with previous AMEK releases, the AMEK Mastering Compressor is based on a coveted piece of hardware privately-owned by Dirk Ulrich, enhanced in sound and expanded in options by the Brainworx development team.

      they can't say it, let's just assume it's the GML 8900 Dynamic Range/Gain Control Series and its mastering edition 2030. Also check the Massenburg Designworks MDWDRC2 which basically the same thing but with 2000-era plugin GUI.

  • @bco0t6

    So I know their latest amek eq was a model of a sontec what is this compressor actually modeling?

    • @theotherchrisjackson
      @theotherchrisjackson 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      GML compressors, somewhere between the 8900 or the 2030. The 8900 being a little more "general use" and the 2030 having a few more of the controls that this plugin seems to have.

    im sorry.. i am a fan of plugin alliance and the amek plugins.. BUT... this video is a joke. I actually stopped watching on the Synth Bass section. If you are compressing so little to demonstrate the plugin... why would you add so much gain to the compressed signal compared to the bypassed??? It makes it impossible to judge anything. This looks more like a scam video than a real plugin review.

    • @Barncore
      @Barncore ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you had kept watching the video you would've him seen him use it more aggressively on the Lupe mix + drums
