  • Lake Toho January Fishing Report
    My advice on where to look and what to throw on Lake Toho right now to hopefully put a few bass in the boat and avoid a tough day of fishing!
    🔥Quick Fishing Tip!🔥
    As the water temps drop into post frontal range, feeding behavior will change as their metabolism slows. try fishing first light and last light to capitalize on primary feeds!

    That’s for the vid! I’ve been throwing a 3.3 kitech fat swing on a 6th sense line thru treble head #10 owner hook on my bfs setup. Dobyns sierra 740c with a dark wolf reel. Catches decent bass when it’s super slow, and it also catches dinner plate specks.

      @ I may take a day of prefishing to hit a couple of them & see if it makes sense for me to stay off the beaten path. I expect probably about 200 anglers to show up for this tournament, so it may get real crowded even on Toho & Kissimmee.

    Hey Erik, Happy New Year to you!!!!....Quick question here, I use Dobyns rods also and have pretty much every 7'0 to 7 foot 3 rod in their "Fury" series. I'm struggling a bit with rod choices in different cover situations since I'm newish to Florida and not used to the different cover types here.....I'm not sure if you're familiar with their "Fury" series, but if you are....which action/power would you fish treble hook baits like top waters and lipless baits on and which rod would you throw a chatter bait on? Also, would your recommendation change in heavy grass situations versus more open water? I fish out of a kayak, so that's important as well as it's pretty hard for me to throw anything over 7'3.Thanks a bunch!!!

      @@mikeschwallenberg3456 for cranking treble hook baits and chatterbaits the Fury 705CB was my favorite when I was still using Fury’s. For topwater anything; spook, frog, plopper, you name it…gotta be that Fury 734C or 704C. Hope that helps!

    • @mikeschwallenberg3456
      @mikeschwallenberg3456 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TilsonsGuideService That does help, thanks a bunch! I've had that 705CB crankbait rod for a while now, but just always assumed it was not enough backbone for grassy kinda situations....what's your thought process (advantages) on throwing that lighter rod? Also, as far as the frog goes, would you still throw that on the 704C in heavy cover? Last question, I promise....I assume you would you use the 735C (Mag Heavy) for punching heavy cover, any other uses for that one? I really appreciate the help 👍

    • @TilsonsGuideService
      @TilsonsGuideService  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ yeah man so I mean, a 4 power rod in a 7’ length is pretty stout not to mention the Fury line is a little stiffer than say the XP line. I think a 735 is fine heavy flipping and a 704 is fine for a frog. It’s more about the angler and his ability to swing that hammer than it is the rod 😎
