Idk…..as a Mexican from the west coast, as a chicano, I didn’t grow up listening to corridos, Spanish music etc. I grew up listening to Suga Free, Tupac, Snoop, Quik, Game, Etc etc we grew up loving west coast gangster rap. & speaking for myself & I’m sure for a lot of other Mexican Americans we grew up loving that music more than our own. As a Mexican this bothers me because if you actually know your history in hip hop, Yes hip hop was started by blacks and Puerto Ricans in the east coast but when hip hop came to the west coast it was black and Mexicans/Chicanos. Yes Mexicans weren’t really rapping but they were the ones behind the scenes of majority of black west coast rappers. Look up Tony A the Wizard, Julio g, Tony g, Johnny J, etc. My people have contributed to hip hop since the 80’s so before you come with the negative replies DO THE RESEARCH.
