"So it got the end of the month and I got a new job. So I handed my 1-weeks notice in, worked the week. and now they've only paid me a quarter of my monthly salary. What's going on?"
Pretty much! He probably got confused as it's a bit under a weeks salary but he's paid monthly and probably 2 weeks in arrears, 2 weeks in advance. From his second to last pay check a couple of days he worked on notice had already been paid in advance and a couple hadn't hence the £200 odd payment.
Steve's question wasn't specific enough at the beginning, this was the problem. If he wanted to know which body to contact, as he had been underpaid by a previous employer, then that is what he should have asked.
Unfortunately Steve will blame everyone else for this. It will be the HR departments fault that he lost his work iPad and had the value deducted. It will be Daniels fault that he went onto the radio and didn't get proper legal advice specific to his case It will be ACAS fault that they didn't raise the grievance at his old workplace in the correct procedure or order It will never be Steves fault....and that would be his mentality going forward.
I've watched back a few times and can completely confirm it was a burp. There's even a second one at around 0:13-0:14 but much quieter. You can tell it's a burp and not stumbling over words as when you stumble you stumble INTO the phase. There was a deliberately pause before and after the word job so absolutely was an intentional action this my theory of it being a confirmed burp.
This guy sounded like one of the characters that used to call Steve Wright in the afternoon. Mr Angry’s dumb ass brother perhaps. He should phone up every week to entertain us all.
If the caller does go to an employment tribunal he will have show he’s exhausted all avenues of redress. Why can’t he contact his last manager for HR’s contact details?
I think what the caller wants is to be told the name of the organisation he can "set on" the company to force them to pay him what he thinks he is owed. Well, that organisation are going to expect you to have opened dialogue with the company in some meaningful way before they will get involved..... Which is what Daniel is attempting to explain to him.
I don't think he realised that he could find the head office address on their corporate website and then use that address to address a letter to he head of HR. The caller was uninformed I think Daniel could have talked through the basics a little more.
Strewth. Handled it as well as you could have done, Daniel. Some people don’t want to be talk or get advice, just a lonely, bitter person craving to be heard.
This guy isn’t particularly bright, so Daniel should have picked up on this and altered his approach. Here is what I think happened. He only gave them a weeks notice, and got a new job. Had he given a months notice - which he was probably supposed to - he would have got a full pay packet. They paid him only for the week, less some amounts owing of some kind. It would be on his final payslip.
The company has got nothing to fear from this guy, he's completely incoherent. I kinda hope he's drunk because otherwise I don't know how he is capable of doing any job.
But the first port of call is to contact the employer, if he goes anywhere else they'll tell him to try there first. He was very patient with the caller considering he was pissed as a fart and/or stupid.
I get the feeling the caller has been told exactly why there have been deductions but the man simply refuses to listen or simply lacks the cognitive ability to understand the summary explaining the deductions.
My dear old Grandad was religious and couldn't help but tell everyone his religion at any opportunity. He bored everyone senseless and had friends that put up with him. You and him would probably have got along pretty well.
Great cool from Daniel as always very amusing though phone someone for advice doesn’t listen to a word anyone saying all the obvious things which you would normally have done or a normal person would’ve done. He hasn’t done and doesn’t seem to want to do but well done Daniel 5:16
Really not true is it? Your typical reform voter would be an ex Tory who probably earns above £60,000 and doesn’t want taxing to death. Not an idiot who votes labour and thinks they’re still backing the “working man” while being paid a pittance.
Daniel was surprisingly patient with this caller!
To be fair, it is entertaining!
He is grinning..
This guy was deemed capable of a job that required an iPad and a phone… I wouldn’t trust him with a crayon…
He can't send an email cause he is illiterate.
He still votes Reform or Tory.
Cause they told him that a migrant is the cause of his pathetic life.
When he started they did give him crayons, but he kept eating them 😂
A company that also only requires a weeks notice 😂
😂😅😂 good one
😂🤣😂🤣
I can confirm, James is a brilliant bloke.
He'll help you sort it all.
How on earth did this person get into a position where he's taking home £1900 a mumf?
_Labouring pays pretty well, and its all about your hands._
1900 isn’t good money.
Its a salary of like 27-28k, below the average.
@@GenericPurpleTurtleGross pay will be more than that.
@@theeniwetoksymphonyorchest7580 I estimated gross pay. 1900*12 is 22,800 take-home mate.
Best call ever.
He hasn't been out to the pub tonight as he's recently discovered an extra ~£1600 in his bank account and has blown it all on champagne.
This sounds like the conversation I have with my parents when they have IT issues.
🤣 i can relate
the only one who wasn't listening was steve... what a muppet!
He can't send an email cause he is illiterate.
He still votes Reform or Tory.
Cause they told him that a migrant is the cause of his pathetic life.
Daniel only had to spend 5 minutes talking to him
some poor sap decided to employ him
At least twice…
Bet the former employer is delighted he quit. Sounds like a nightmare. My condolences to his new employers.
I would have paid him double, just to make sure he never comes back again
Surprised he managed to pass interviews TBH
Daniel doesn’t get paid enough for this.
He can't send an email cause he is illiterate.
He still votes Reform or Tory.
Cause they told him that a migrant is the cause of his pathetic life.
Anyone else assuming Steve was fired for drinking on the job, or is it just me?

I hope someone posts a recording of his conversation with ACAS
…. Contact the hr department.
Cant find it
Look for it
It's such a big company it don't have a website or an address or phone number
He could phone HR and ask for their email address. Five minute job.
"Have you been to the pub?" 😂😂😂😂
He sounds like a very lovely bloke - no idea why a company would want to part ways with him.
It’s actually such a skill to keep your cool like that and not take it personally despite someone firing shots at you like that.
He's definitely been down the Pub
And had a right skin full🍻🍻🍺🍺

DID HE F-ING BURP AT 0:06?? 🤣🤣
I think the slurring his words and burping gave away that he was totally bladdered👍

@@CarlTSpeakAt 4:28 he also called Daniel the host "Inconsistent" which I'm sure he meant "Incompetent" but Daniel didn't quite hear him :P

DB was admirably patient despite being told he wasn't listening and being called "mate".
They walk amongst us.
Is the caller called Trigger?
Imagine having to spend any time around Steve
This is like an episode of phonejacker
This is the type of caller who votes Reform UK.
If the caller does go to an employment tribunal he will have show he’s exhausted all avenues of redress. Why can’t he contact his last manager for HR’s contact details?

Pissed surely
I pitty the poor soul at ACAS who took this idiot’s call.
This guy must be a troll
Never attribute to malice what can be attributed to stupidity
That's a bit personal? Yes.
Really worrying that we let people like this drive cars, operate machinery and vote in elections
_And phone into legal advice shows..._
He should have said phone them up and ask for HR email address if you don't know the phone number Google it would love to hear Steves answer to that
"You're not listening you haven't given me a stripped down version of why they have taken my wages!"
"bit personal innit?"
"yes.............."

Anyone got the email for acas?!!!!
What a horrible little man.
Steve why would you won’t to employ him.
What happened ? …… I wasn’t listening !
The answer to his question is ACAS or the courts?
Customer service skills of listening to the question - don't fix the problem, answer the question.
What a bloody muppet 😂
He means an itemised payslip or whatever
That was quite entertaining actually 😂.
Wow, did he leave or did he get pushed?
Would help if he wasn’t chewing a brick whilst talking to you
I bet you anything the pay was correct but he left half way through the month
Hard work
I think he should still call james....
