    You are a sweetheart, young lady! Your observations of who Joni is seem to be right on. She is an idealist who loves her life of creating and performing her music, which she does in a beautifully inviting and unique way. I’m glad you were moved by the many talents she displays in her writing and performing.

    Love how much she packs into each lyric. We were sitiing there talking or lying and not ttalking. Didn't it feel good. Or help me I think we're falling in love too fast. It's got me thinking about the future and worrying about the past. Cause I've seen some hot hot blazes come down to smoke and ash.

    Joni is one of the greatest singer songwriters of her era. I had the luck to see her three times. She was hypnotic. Most will recommend A Case of You, Blue, River, The Circle Game, so I will recommend All I Want, The Same Situation, Black Crow, & Be Cool (studio recordings). After that, if you ever get the chance, check out Sex Kills (live on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno). You can see the unique way that she strums and picks her guitar and the sound that she gets out of it that is unique to her. She was named one of the top 100 guitarists by Rolling Stone Magazine in recognition of her musicianship. A couple of years ago, she was found in her home unconscious. Since then, she's had to fight to walk and talk again. She's come a long way and is still recovering but more recently has been seen attending a music event here or there. All of us, who have been profoundly affected by her willingness and bravery to put herself (and sometimes all of us) on the line in her lyrics are holding our breaths for her health. When she passes, it will be the end of an era....Please continue on your Joni Journey!

    Joni wrote this song for Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. That was him in photos. Later Graham wrote "Our House" which C.S.N. &Y. recorded which was about Joni's and Graham's house when they moved in together. Joni wrote "Coyote" about Sam Shepherd, actor, director, producer when she toured with Bob Dylan in 75. Sam was trying to Hit on her. 🤔😎🤗

    To lay it down at the end of the day Joni really loved her freedom to be on the road and to travel into play amazing gigs. Cannot be tied down. She is 78 years old now worth 50 million dollars. Which is a little bit of money compared to how some of these singers make money now! So for a singer from the 60s she's doing really good. But the road was the thing for her

    • @EvaPopStar
      @EvaPopStar 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      She came along playing in small book clubs in New York and other places. So that never left her. And you can see that she's riding as if she's sitting in a club, A Folk club with a cup of coffee writing lyrics. This is the most incredible singer songwriter of all time. There will never be another one who can do what she does.

    This song - and Joni in general - was a favorite of Prince. He quotes it in Ballad of Dorothy Parker (“It was Joni singing ‘Help me I’m falling...”) and covered her song A Case of You frequently in his later concerts. And he rarely covered other artists - so that shows you how influential she is. She’s phenomenal.

    She is certainly talented at putting her feelings to music. Her guitar playing was unique to her because polio early in life had made her left hand weak so she used different tunings and chords to compensate. Her definition of love is, "if I feel good in someone's company and want to be around them, I call that love". Personally, I think this song was about David Crosby, but she had so many men in and out of her life it's hard to be sure. Thanks for the walk down memory lane with Joni Mitchell. She is famous for putting her life to music and exposing herself to the world.
    Speaking of which, about a month ago I asked Roseanne Barr what her swan song would be. She said, God's Song by Randy Newman. Well, I've still not been able to decide what the song means or what she might be thinking when she hears it. It's a puzzle that's been bothering me. If you need a headache, I'd like to hear your opinion on it.

      @@CC2Cents_ I look forward to it, but no pressure because you may just end up dumbfounded like me. There is a little irony to why I ask her that question. It is a common myth the swan, which isn't known to sing during its life, will sing a beautiful song just before dying. I had joked to Roseanne about her infamous singing of the national anthem at a football game and it ended up with that question. Being who she is, maybe she is just playing with my mind.

    I don't think it's about falling in love with the same person again. I think it's that she knows she's falling in love with someone whose reputation suggests she might get hurt. She has seen previous relationships come crashing down (whether hers or others is not specified). She also recognises the tension between wanting a relationship and wanting freedom and they both feel that way. She's fearful that it won't end well.
