This is a Toto song, written by Steve Lukather and David Paich. Most of the people don't recognize the legacy of that band. Almost everyone see them as the folks that play Africa. Toto is one of the most important groupos of the 70s and 80s, even Miles Davis admitted they had a vibe few bands have.
Well said. Most people don’t know and realize how many BIG records they contributed to. The biggest being Michael Jackson’s historic album Thriller. They also don’t know that Miles cover of MJ ‘s Human Nature which was written by Toto’s Steve Pocaro. The backstory on how that song ended up on MJ’s album is even more interesting. You can hear it from SP himself on TH-cam.
You can really tell how much Miles appreciated Foley. Not only by body language but also by how he would direct the audience’s applause at him. A fantastic pairing and one of Miles’ greatest guitarists in my opinion.

Composition du groupe TOTO sortie en 1986 avec en effet la collaboration de Miles Davis. Ecouter la version effectuée par TOTO qui est à la fois plus sobre et bien plus intense sur l'album FAHREINHEIT
In 1988, I was living in Antibes, and went to a concert in Juan-Les-Pins, featuring Miles Davis (playing the TUTU album), Carlos Santana and Wayne Shorter, who were playing together on stage. There was also a smaller, raised stage featuring D Brubeck with his son on bass. Has anyone got any recordings of the Davis concert? I made some enquiries years ago and people thought I was making it up! I did find a recording some years ago, but have since lost contact with the guy who recorded it. I remember the night incredibly well as I was, and still am a massive Davis fan. The night was very important to me. In fact, there were two nights and I went to both; seeing Miles at both but seeing others for the other part of the concert. I had just learned to whistle with my fingers (I was only 18) and deliberately whistled in a very distinctive way at the beginning and end of each track so that years down the line I might identify myself. Six or seven years ago I did hear some footage of that night, and my own performance, but have lost the laptop I had. There were about 500 American sailors there that night, I remember, so there must have been some pictures, video or more audio. Very grateful for any help.
This i s a tune hi played on A TOTO record. And hi tok it with him om this tour. So its made by TOTO. Thats for Human nature also. Made by TOTO for Micael Jackson
Most of these Miles videos in this series i have heard anyway are not a steady tempo like this one . I sort a dig but getting tired of this Miles series(in the 1980s comeback) with the second half of the piece like a highly emotional and physically draining Indian raga(passion) This is so beautiful, so healing and i wish there was more of the great sax player Kenny Garret playing flute like here . It is so good, better than life itself .
@@zepapires wtf? Was it really composed as a tribute to him? D you have any link where I can see what you're saying? The thing is that Miles seamed to be around Toto and they asked him to play in their song but I don't think it was made as a tribute to him
@@davidzuniga9362I heard a story that Miles was at Jeff Porcaros' house and wanted to buy one of his paintings, so as a trade Jeff Porcaro asked him to play on Totos' upcoming album. Since they didn't have a song that Miles could be a good fit for they wrote Don't Stop Me Now in a pinch. Which is also why it seems so out of place when you listen to the whole Farenheit album.

HI @perrysar . It´s not a guitar. Its a piccolo Bass. You can do it with any bass but the short scales are better. You just put some piccolo string and tune it one octave up than a regular bass.
