For as much as these engines have issues, speaking from personal experience at least these are pretty easy to work on, I just rebuilt my 3.0 engine and didn’t even have to remove it from the car or remove any body or frame parts

Definitely agree, most of the serviceable items are easily accessible.

I will always prefer the older series one or two 3.8 L GM's newer engines do not hod a candle to the older ones.....

angel i gotta saab 2006 aero i call it a crown hawk ya know the saab loggo. its a ragtop with the 2.8 v6 227 k klics. running okay i changed the sparkplugs successfully and removed some rubber from the hood to let the engine disapate the heat. i hear the rear pvc valve causes alot of buildup in the rear rocker cover . does the rear pvc just snap into the rocker cover? like the front one ?im thinking of popping it out and forget about evapoative stuff. buddy you do stuff a heart surgeon would admire. senior from alberta

I would suggest you swap those over. You can do this by just removing the two top covers, no need to get back all the way down to the crank shaft. There are special tools that allow you to replace vvt sprockets only. Look for videos of this.

I rarely ever do any side work and when I do it’s for close friends or family. If I did this it would be 1,500 to 1,800. If you find a shop willing to do it or go the dealership it’s gonna be a lot more. Many shops remove the entire subframe but you really don’t have too but all that adds time and cost as well. Thanks for the view please like and subscribe if you haven’t already.

I wouldn’t recommend that because it’s got a massive vacuum leak now and it’s gonna give you a check engine light and leak oil.

Another thing too this motor is turbocharged right? You can’t just leave it out will cause tons of issue’s and wreck your engine.
