Mike Dean is a legend! I had a student show me that Reverb video and they didn’t even know Max for Live existed, so I decided to make a video on it haha!
What a great video!! Can you tell me how you put the keys and chord names on the screen? My English isn't perfect, and maybe I didn't understand if you mentioned it
The GlastonKilo module might not be supported by Ableton 12, which is a relatively new version of the software. I'm currently on Ableton 11 for this reason (a bunch of other Max for Live modules may be not working with Ableton 12 yet, so beware)
well wait lol, i didnt understand what the step input plugin does lol, what is his function exactly, im not sure ure mentionning it in the video unless i missed it... Great beat btw !
It allows you to just play stuff on your midi keyboard, and it prints it into your piano roll, so you don't have to spend a lot of time clicking around with the mouse and everything is already quantized
Great video, but I am still a bit bamboozeled why people like Ableton. I uses it for quite a while and at some point I switched to Studio One, and it was weeks of "ohh what, I can just....do this..?" Maybe the "live mode" is awesome, so maybe am just the wrong audience, but again here, no built in step input?? Seems like a photo editing software that needs a plugin for the crop function. smh
I like Ableton's synths and customization stuff. I originally came from Pro Tools, which still crashes all the time and costs about 200 dollars a year just to have update support lol!
@@TomCasey I use it and it isn't the best but I had to part with my laptop and mixcraft 9 awhile ago to cover rent. I got FLmobile and its not bad I mean, I'm very far from pro just self-taught really. I have a few tracks but I was just curious.
I'm sorry you feel I'm stealing something, but this is my music I'm featuring in the video. Instead of posting negative comments on the internet, go make some of your own music man.
Awesome i saw mike dean using this on reverb and was wondering how it worked

I'm glad you enjoyed it! That is an app called ChordieApp, you can purchase it on Gumroad
I can’t get this to work with ableton 12 for some reason.

I have it but the notes are not appearing on my midi clip when I play. Have you any idea why?

If you're on Ableton 12, that might be why

Generally best practice if you're making a video about a specific device to link it in the description. But thanks anyway.
Oh yea, I forgot to do that. I'll add it in!
More of a cheat code (steal code) is coping Mike Deans notes and arrangement like you have here

Hi - whats that keyboard plug-in screen you're using. the keys with the manuscript view etc.?
ChordieApp (on Gumroad) GOAT software
Have you considered getting sponsored by @ableton
I got a comment from THE Chill Smith! Thank you sir, but no Ableton doesn't pay me anything lol!
@@TomCasey you should try to get a sponsorship
