ONLY to finally reach the "bottom" of his soul, where locked up in the cage is the true "monster" that is kept pent up and writing lines... that Em then takes back to the surface to put into a new track. The entire visual metaphor is basically Em having to "dive deep" to his "core" and "unleash the beast" that will produce the bars/lines that generates everything else around Em's life that you only see as an outsider looking at the results. And while he can do it, time after time, sometimes it isn't "comfortable" going that deep inside yourself to find the same drive and conviction to keep producing for over 20 years, almost non-stop.
