    Hi there😉
"Hitman" Bang is Bang Si Hyuk's pseudonym. He got famous for his songwriting and producing before creating his own label.
Fun fact about Jin and his first scouting. It's rumored that SM Entertainment tried to scout him back from BigHit for a long time after he got recognizable and sending him gifts but he continued to ignore them.
Tae and Jimin went to school together but only after moving to Seoul. They are from different cities (Daegu and Busan respectively). His friend from Daegu is not in show business but he's not salty about V's success, he's proud of him. They're not having much contact anymore as BTS' schedule is crazy and childhood frienships often tend to fizzle out with age, but they still exchange messages from time to time.
Jimin wasn't even supposed to be in the group. Bang PD thought that he's not ready, but everyone in the group and label convinced him otherwise and he admitted that it would've been his biggest mistake if he didn't listen to them.
PSY was the one who put South Korea somewhere on the world music map but he was still treated like a one time stint. BTS paved the way when it comes to global recognition that continued and made a place for K-pop in the world music industry. PSY himself said that he's very proud of them for doing things that were unreachable for him years ago and often post on his social media when they have another achievement.
Halsey is a good friend of the guys. When her child was born, she started calling them "the band of uncles".
"Savage Love" with Derulo is rarely mentioned because he treated this first place like his own success, even though it was BTS' remix and the original wasn't that popular so ARMYs stopped streaming it and it fell from the chart spectacularly the next week.
Japan was the second biggest market for K-pop for the longest time so it was common for the artists (at least the ones from the older generations) to release japanese versions of their albums.
No, I would never sell a BTS ticket to anyone. Getting one is like winning the Hunger Games. If I had an extra one, I would sell it to a fellow ARMY for the same price that I got it or give it as a gift to someone who couldn't afford it because I'm not some heartless monster.
The song with Snoop Dogg is called "Bad Decisions".
We really don't care about "Scammy's". Jungkook's live at which he fell asleep had more viewers than them.😂
In the beginning of this video, he talked about the start of ARMY. The name is the same from the beginning. It's an acronym that stands for "Adorable Representative MC for Youth", but we don't mention our "government name" often.😆
Sorry for a long post. I tried to answer most of your questions. I had to redeem myself.😅

Well hello freyja haha thanks for the long post, it was very informative. I appreciate your passion for BTS as well as watching my video it is greatly appreciated! You answered many questions and even if you didn’t, your fellow Armys are doing just as good in the comments. And no reason to feel like you had to redeem yourself! You’re good 😊

@@DanCamVer. I have my reasons to be passionate. They saved my health years ago. I was struggling with a severe case PTSD and wasn't able to get a full night's sleep for nearly 10 years. It was really bad, to the point where I've started to forget words which was detrimental to my job. Then I've heard Jin's voice and slept for a whole night first time in a decade. I still call him Jigglypuff because of that. Their music and sense of humor did what years of therapy couldn't do. I'm not the only one with a story like that - we even have a saying: "BTS finds you when you need them the most".
And yeah, I had to redeem myself. That fractured rib had me in a lot of pain and I was extremely cranky because of that. I knew that others would answer them as well but I'm bored with nothing else to do while recovering.😆

To answer your question about concept, they didn't have the same type of "concept" many groups have today, they were just a hiphop-based group and wrote songs they felt were relevant to them and what they perceived in society; and they still do that 😊

    • @lizal682

I think just because of looks and outfits they got underestimated as far as their message. If you just take it at surface level it looked like punks up to no good. Their lyrics were the complete opposite. I suggest looking closely to their message when listening to their debut songs.

    • @ZariDV
      @ZariDV 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

@@lizal682 In some ways it was sort of ironic (I dont know if they intended it to be though). They gave off a delinquent punk image of kids who cause chaos and can't be controlled. And from the perspective of conservative parents in S. Korea, they probably really did seem that way musically too. They were encouraing kids to do the polar opposite of the messages parents spent years trying to drill into their kids' heads. From a parent's perspective, these guys were a bad influence for trying to normalize the idea that it's okay to not try to overwork yourself, constantly compete against your friends and go to a standard job if you don't want to. Articles were insulting them for that message back then. Grown adults hating on kids for expressing their own experiences.

That's right: ARMY was named on 9 July 2013 (which is now ARMY day every year). There was a suggestion to cal us Bells, based on a Korean pun which I have forgotten, but I prefer ARMY. I don;t like the acronym they assigned for that, though: it feels like it is shoe-horned on. RM has an alternative meaning which I think is far better - A-Reum-da-woon MI-seong, or “Beautiful Voice/s” which is he says based on hearing ARMY singing to BTS at concerts. The 'Korean' spelling of ARMY is AMI, since R is not really much used in Korean....

Hitman Bang is actually his stage name. It wasn't a mistranslation, don't worry. We call him Bang PD usually just like BTS does. It's Hitman like someone who produces hit songs but with a dangerous edge. Even though he's the cuddliest looking dude ever.

to answer you question, yes, BTS paved the way. There were attempts from other artists before BTS to break into the US and global superstardom. But, before BTS those artists were never really successful in their attempts. BTS was the first Korean group to chart in Western charts, BTS was also the first Korean artists to have a #1 album (now they have several) in the US and Europe, the first Korean artists to go gold and platinum in the US and Europe, the first Korean artists to have a #1 song in the US (now they had several), the first Korean artists to have stadium shows in the US and Europe, the first Korean artists to be nominated to western Awards and also the first to win those awards, They were the first and only Kpop artists to be invited to give a speech at The UN. Now they have given 3 speeches at the UN. They literally opened the doors of Global mainstream music to other kpop artists. Kpop is more widely known worldwide now because BTS broke into mainstream culture. Because BTS sold out stadiums, sold millions of albums, had Billions of streams when no other Korean artist was doing it the US, Europe, etc started to see that Kpop was profitable and started open up doors for other kpop acts.
BTS is quite literally the biggest underdog story of Kpop music history. From a small company near bankrupt to become living legends that broke into global superstardom and opened new doors to the entire Kpop industry.

Thank you for reacting to this, glad that you took the advice! Hit Man Bang was his moniker, because he wrote songs that became hits. his real name is Bang Hsi Hyuk, he was a talented award winning music producer and song writer with YG and other Big Three Kpop Companies. He left to set up his own Company called Big Hit Entertainment. His goal was to form a Hip Hop Group, BTS started as a Hip Hop Group as you've seen from their music, visuals and styling in their debut start up days. Till today, BTS still predominantly produce their music with the hip hop boom bap beats layered onto the different genres, that they mix into their discography creatively, for an example of this, check out some of their work like Black Swan, On Kinetic MV, Mic Drop, The Moment Is Yet To Come (featuring Anderson Paak) and multiple other hits. BTS debut as teenagers and some of them just touching twenty, their music back then reflected their youth. It has changed, evolved till today, as they grew older as individuals. There is no group that comes close to what they are and do. They are hands down the most accomplished and critically acclaimed group!. They most definitely paved the way for KPOP, no arguments about that. Welcome to BTS and getting to know how legendary they are. Enjoy your journey

Though others have commented and answered your questions, I also love the younger BTS songs and think you should check those out. It gives a great idea of how they evolved! I like Bulletproof pt 2 and N.O. amongst 100’s of others. 😅 Thank you! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🇨🇦👏👏👏

This is an excellent video. Well done and comprehensive. The only issue I have with it is his characterization of motives behind the release of Dynamite. I don't think it was part of some calculated plan for world musical domination, at least for the group. I believe them when they say it was a gift to ARMY to help them and distract them from the isolation and sorrow the pandemic had brought. Both the group and its fans were depressed at the loss of their world tour and the uncertainty of life in general at that time.

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. I really like this info video too. He is funny and very knowledgeable. I heard a lot of new songs when I was baby Army and I wrote them all down and listened to them later. =0] He also gives a good summary of their albums. Very helpful video. In the USA the media barely shows any info on BTS. If they do show they say silly things so u never pay attention. BTS are not a pop group. All their songs are not pop. There is a lot of misleading info when it is on the news and so we ignore. I am so glad to find them when i did. U really do find them when u need them the most. Hugs. Later's! #YouAreEnough --NY USA 2019 Army💟

V and Jimin only met when they were trainees.. they're the same age, born in the same year, and went to the same school when they were trainees so they were best friends..
but they're from different cities, V's from Daegu and Jimin's from Busan

Please check out ‘the rise of Bangtan’. It is a fan made and comprises 20 episodes. It talked about how kpop started and the beginnings of BTS and their songs their hardships and their success. It is a well made documentary that you will not regret it. You can check it out in your free time if you do not want to react it.

It's always worth watching this video - so well done! I give great credit to Rice Squad for the update - it's a lot of hard work! Taylor Mari worked with Throga Squad on a video and did a May'22 to October '23 update in a slide show. Well worth taking a look - even though a massive amount has happened even since THEN! Hiatus? What hiatus …? th-cam.com/video/C6pXzvkmtm0/w-d-xo.html
I like that you like Butter with such a simple straightforward joy. I hated it at first (as I did all the English songs), but they were made simply to cheer folk up, and they did that very well... and they were such incredible performances and thoughtful videos with huge amounts of the kind of detail ARMY love, I now love them too. But they are not for everyone. Which is OK.
But, oh, I look forward to you meeting the huge number of other styles BTS embody, but even more, the meanings and kindness they express in every song. I think that some new ARMY who met in the last few years and know the Korean work little or not at all would be surprised and perhaps shocked.I don;t want to sound dismissive, but to fully appreciate the Korean songs (and Japanese) people have to be prepared to do a bit of work - check translations, do some research etc. But there is a plethora of help, not only in subtitles (now, not so much on earlier MVs), dance practices, making of videos and documentaries from Big Hit as well as specials and other shows, but also fan made 'explanation' videos, 'history of' videos, fancams etc etc.
The Colour Coded Lyric videos have a place but the translation can be weak, so I use a site called www.doolsetangtan.wordpress.com - a comprehensive song list (including free songs and mixtapes on Soundcloud) with albums, tracks - a page each with MV link, and short notes on writer, producer, inspiration, cultural, historical and wordplay references and lyrics in Hangul (Korean script) and English. Invaluable. She (I assume - I never learned a name!) updates remarkably quickly when something new is released. She deserves a Big Hit medal.
Now - back to Butter, just for you - make sure to catch the Grammy performance of Butter - yes, they were robbed, but this performance won the whole evening. There are so many details in it that most people did not notice (and I didn't without ARMY pointing them out). There is also a 'making' of for this too, which is a must-see - the performance was in danger right up until the day before. JK and JH both had had Covid (and JH had been kept back in Korea until cleared) and Jin had an injury which stopped him from full participation (he was gutted).

Let me stop you right there at 26:16. Read several comments below. Apologies if someone below said the same thing. I HATE this vid. Why? Because it reminds me....that the 'Murican Grammys/Emmys/Oscars are corrupt AF and why Artists/Actors will never win. Even if 'they' deserve it.
Case in Point: In case the PUBLIC do not know. Us OG Army ...know. BTS really HIT THE US MAIN STREAM MEDIA - The minute Ellen booked them on her show. 2016.
Yadda Yadda Yadda.........The three MAIN MUSIC US COMPANIES ( No names mentioned)
Approached (behind the scenes) BTS....with *cough*.....offers that their 'Big Hit/Hybe'......could NEVER offer our Boys. As the number one 'Murican MUSIC COMPANY? Plus the Other two? You would join our family aka Taylor Swift....Cardi B etc etc
And TRUST. AFTER "SELLING YO SOULS TO US"......WE WOULD ensure - BTS gets that "GRAMMY - YOU IN?".
After (RM) speaking with his other Members. A vote was taken and politely given "No Thank You." etc etc. He's better than me. My temper? lol....nuff said. My style would've been " FUCK OFF - WHERE WERE YOU IN 2013?"......then probs jumped over the table to do some serious bodily harm - like - THE NERVE 🤣🤣
Either way. Army can stop 'hoping' that BTS will ever win their deserved Grammy - like - YEARS ago. They NEVER SOLD OUT and remain with HYBE (BIG HIT) to this day.
    Fuck the Grammy.
Is why. (BACK WHEN)...when they announced their Concert in London - Wimberley Stadium. Which seats 90,000? Was SOLD OUT IN 1HR.30MINS. Scalpers were selling seats at $3000 a pop... an made some SERIOUS COIN..
Imagine their ReUnion concert in 2025?.....................No words. 😎💜💜💜💜

V was not with Jimin. they were a hip hop group. ( where did you get punk rock?) Of course they went global first. as far as paved the way, that's true, have any other K pop group even come close to popularity, nope. They just aren't that good. at least, not yet. IFPI is really the only western awrds worth having. The rest are all rigged, and army researched and has proved this. I would not sell a ticket for over OG price. AND I would only sell to a ARMY.

@@DanCamVer.You owe no one an apology. Most stans aren’t interested in reactors actual reaction. They want someone who act and behave the way their fantasy of how people react to their faves to be fulfilled. Kpop reactors just be actors in a play for stans to love them. If that’s not you, congrats, and keep up the good work.
