I had the 1979 MGB with Union Jack decals on the sides in that same yellow, as a teen, in high school. Great car, ran most of the time, and one day I came out of school and Miss Teen Texas was sitting on the side of the hood asking for a ride home.
I have a 1979 MGB in that same colour (Inca yellow if you’re interested 😊) that’s been in the family since 1980 when both it and I were 1 year old. I imported it into Switzerland where I now live about 10 years ago - if you’re looking for a multilingual country with amazing riding roads, I’d love to see a road trip video to Switzerland…
Loved Rye as a young man......Camber was our party place (thank God there was no social media back then!!). Too many moons ago. Thanks for the memories!
Make the most of the weather Freddie we don't get much of it! Camber Sands looks very nice for a day trip as does Rye, so must give them a shot when I am next down that way.
I love Rye, my Father lived at Iden for about ten years when he was between 9 and 19. It was a family farm and he helped his brothers deliver milk to their customers in Rye with a pony and trap. I spent many days in Rye and Iden when I was young and always love going there.
What a lovely little unspoiled town Rye is. Thanks for taking us along with you. Shame it was such a short video. I’m sure I speak for many others when I say it’d be nice to be in your company for longer. Looking forward to to seeing Ireland though 👍
I took my V4s to Ireland last year for a spot of, Wild Atlantic Way riding. It was sublime, (unlike the weather) and I can't think of a better bike to have gone on. These current Multistrada's are just brilliant. Oh and excellent video, thank you🖖
Picking up a Multistrada on Monday for the week and you've just helped me decide where to ride first. Rye and Camber Sands looks gorgeous and so does the route from where I live in Hampshire too! Have subscribed ✅️
Hay mate I know you Brits are not used to the warm weather, well in Aus 30 degrees is considered a warm day , but yes 20-25 is the best riding weather. I found anything over around 33 degrees stats to become uncomfortable. A few summers ago we had 8 days over 40 ( WAY TO HOT TO RIDE ) great engine the V4 in the Ducati . In the hot weather mate get a small camel back , as you can drink as you ride if required.apparently you haven’t had a very good summer. Come to Australia for ours coming up mate 👍
Looking forward to see the roadtrip to Ireland, seems to me for a goos reason, really like your vlogs because they are completely differente from others and summarize it to joy of riding of a motorcycle
The Ducati is nice and all, but with so much tech in it, it almost loses the essence of riding. Your Bonnie on the other hand... Simple, beautiful and practical. Everything a bike should be. Great Video Freddie 🤘
I did likewise the other week Freddie 👍 Sutton-on-Sea on my Z900RS. Adventure bike not strictly necessary though; Strap your swimming stuff to the seat, bits & bobs in a backpack, and just go! Take a beach towel to put your biking stuff on whilst swimming. Had a lovely swim followed by fish & chips, then meandered up to Mablethorpe bike night for tea & carrot cake 😋
Ah Freddie a proper bike and perfect destination, I have many brilliant memories of rides to the wonderful town of Rye but you may have opened Pandora’s box with the Ducati & find it tricky to go back, cheers😊
Just down the road from us we have a duplicate of Camber Sands, Ainsdale beach complete with sand dunes, a massive beach stretching for ever and the sea miles away, but not quite the southern weather. As for the bike it's awesome but so is the price.
Fab video as always Freddie. I said to you a while ago you should get over to the west coast of Ireland, it`s a wonderful place. I`m back over in Co Mayo on the 31st camping for nine nights on my bike. Have a fab time 😄😄
What a great bike you're testing Freddy, I really think that is One off the most beautiful Adventure bike on the market at the moment. The FIAT you crossed by the way is not the 600 but the 126 model, with a very diferent motor of the original 😅.
Thank you for taking us to another beautiful place - I’ll definitely go there. Interesting comparison between big adventure bike & a cruiser (my present dilemma).
@@davidhall2298…. What GS do you have? I have a Bonny T120 and love it but wanted something larger for trips. What size GS do you have? I found a 2022 1250GS that I loved and almost bought, but it was just so large that I couldn’t see myself using it for anything other than longer trips. I wanted something smaller than 1250GS but still adventure bike platform. I did a test ride on a new F750GS. Ended up buying it. After adding full wind protection, I fell in love with the bike. It did take me some time to get comfortable with the larger size but after a couple months I can maneuver the GS and whip it around as well as my T120 and there’s no doubt that I feel a little safer on highways and interstates on the GS.
@@WilliamWBG It is a 1250. I’ve had it for 4 years & just returned from Norway. Was by far the best bike to do that trip on, but I’ve scratched that itch & feel at 62 a cruiser going down to the UK coast would be easier for me. Am going on a test ride on a Scout tomorrow, so I’ll have a better idea.
I’m surprised by your Ducati/Indian comparison - I wouldn’t have expected you to say that but I’ve never ridden the latter, so I’ll take your word for it. Coming from supersports, I find the Multistrada to be much easier to handle than it has any business being. You are right about the wind protection, though.
Freddie, I live in Kent. You need to visit St Margaret’s Bay near Dover. Have fish and chips at The Coastguard pub. Highly recommend. The area is steeped in history, You could finish off with a walk along the cliffs and afternoon tea at the lighthouse overlooking the Channel.
Oh and by the way prepare for a cold and wet trip to Ireland... I am on the west coast and we are yet to get more than 2 days in a row of sunshine... had the central heating on last week!
Great video and the bike really suited you especially all the room in the panniers, but a very good point betweeen what makes a good touring bike, for me definitely low weight for better handling which rules out an adventure bike, however good they may be.
The screen on the V4 is better than the prevoius models. My 1260 screen has taken a few adjustments to reduce the buffeting but still not as good as the V4.
Sounds like your Mamo is from Donegal if I'm not mistaken Freddie? you'll have a great time exploring the now world famous Wild Atlantic Way. If you've time be sure to skirt through County Galway, Galway City, Connemara and its capital Clifden and the lovely village Roundstone (drop into O'Dowdes for the Seafood Chowder) on your way up. Westport and Cong are well worth seeing as is a drive through the Inagh vally out past Kilemoor. Co's Mayo and Sligo will then take you up towards Donegal...the music and the welcome is/are not to be missed. You'll probably be glad of the Wrangler for its roof mind, the weather, even in August can be a shocker!...also be sure to sample the Guinness, (obvs), oysters a full Irish and a decent Irish Stew (not all at the same time). Cant wait to see the trip....enjoy!
I thought you were going to rob a stage coach with that bandana wrapped around your mug. Rye is a wonderful town, enjoyed many weekends there by bike from London. Camber Sands is like a slightly upmarket version of Talacre Beach, which is local to me in North Wales. On a hot day an old-fashioned leather bike jacket is ideal as there's no warmth in it. Stick with the Ducati, it suits you down to the ground.

I've started looking for one since the positive responces you got. What i have found is a lot of reasonably priced 950/1200,s. Because they are due belt/desmo services.
The prices are really tempting for used models. I’ve heard some owners say independent garages will do the drank service for £600/700. That’s the cheapest I’ve heard of so far. Owners really like them
I ride around here a lot (899 panigale) and there are some pucka roads. Can get a good blat on. But lovely empty roads. There’s a road from rye to appledore that’s 😮
Freddie you need to get yourself a mesh riding jacket. They are amazing! They aren’t expensive… surprised you just didn’t ride without your jacket on knowing how chilled you are over safety.
@FreddieDobbs as others, have said Freddie, these large adventure touring machines almost don't feel like motorcycles anymore. They have so much technology and rider assistance features that it removes that feel of riding we all love. That's why I love my rebel 500. It's simple, minimal technology, but modern as well. On a further note, technology wise, I really hope petrol powered motorcycles won't be banned in 2035 along with cars. I feel one of the biggest thrills of riding is that engine sound. From the reading I've done, it seems that they might be excempt due to the extremely low emissions they put out. Anyway, I'm rambling. Love, what you're doing, Freddie, keep up the good work, and remember, keep the rubber side down.
Hi Freddie, great vid, Fiat was a 126 I think, Ducati is a beautiful bike however expensive and doesn’t seem to have the reliability I think you need for a tourer. I think I preferred the Honda Transalp you had previously. That said my favourite still sits with the classics ( and Modern) and the Triumph would win hands down. Are you looking to do another channel on the Wrangler adventures?
You always seem to find really quaint little corners of the country to stop for food and a drink .. that looked like a lovely ride. I feel your pain with regards to heat on the bike - my Honda NT1100 has supreme wind protection, which is great most of the time, but does render jacket vents utterly useless and rider temperature gets on the warm n sweaty side when ambient temps are over 25c ... I agree it's very different experience from riding a naked bike 🥵🥵

How do you get riding footage if you’re all alone? You put the camera in the grass, turn around and pick it back up? Cannot wait to see Grandma, I bet she is Proud of Freddie!!!, but scared he likes motorcycles 😂
Seems like the ducati suffers from the same heat issues my honda nt1100 does. They have such excellent wind protection, you end up riding in a bubble of heat. My bike feels like riding on top of an oven set to 200 degrees with the door left open in summer. I’m not even riding it right now because of the unbearable heat.
I'm a bit puzzled. I watched another video of yours where you reviewed this bike and well didn't seem to like it at all heavy and big were main complaints I think). So what's the deal? Do you like it or not?
Freddie’s pronunciation of the word hour is in a different tax bracket.
The way he says that vowel has always stood out to me, but you couldn't have described it more perfectly 😂😂

I am definitely doing this, this year! I’d never heard of it⛵️
Love one if it was not my money, bit like any Italian exotica
