I have an 11/12 year old Ranger thats very big (14 x 14) but didn't produce any peaches last year and this year only has a few tiny peaches on it may 5th. I think it might be too old and needs to be replaced?

If you have enough one year fruit bearing wood (small red branches 40-50 cm in pencil size) the tree should produce fruit. If it doesn there can be various reason, late spring frost being the most common, the tree can also drop fruit due to nutrient deficiency or serious disease (leaf curl and leaf hole disease) causing damage to leaf mass. I would first look for those before replacing the tree.

Thanks. I had never pruned it so it grew kinda wild and out of control. I just severely pruned it and only left horizontal branches. It has put on a lot of new growth this summer lower on the tree and hopefully I will have peaches on it next year.

@@johnjohnson1313 PEach should be pruned every year , 50-70 % of one year wood is usually removed. This has 2 functions: reduce the number of fruits and improve quality (in commercial orchards even the additional thinning is conducted and 4-5 fruits on each red pencil branch are left) and even more important to regenerate the tree and to keep the tree form (usually open center with 3-4 branches).
