I believe the Black Hunter has redefined what is a working man's "blue collar" hunting bow...low price, acceptable quality. In the deer woods it gets the job done.
Great video! For those who still have doubt with Mandarin Duck's products or services, don't be! I bought the Mandarin Duck Phantom 56" and several accessories three years ago, all of them still works well and my bow is still shooting good until today! The communication with them was swift through emails and I have zero worry at all buying from Mandarin Duck. I just purchased my Black Hunter longbow last week and it is already cleared from my country's customs, can't wait for it to arrive to set it up to shoot. Good job to Mandarin Duck and keep up the good work. Cheers! p/s: I am not a beginner archer as I have been practicing Olympic recurve during my high school times (14 years ago) and I have made a transition to traditional archery last year since I started practicing historical European martial art … I have a couple of expensive W&W bows and I can say that whatever Sam is sharing here in this video is highly relevant regarding to expansive bows. Expansive =/= better bow.
I have the longbow version. Hands down great bow for both beginners and the rest. Great shooter. Smooth and accurate (well, depending on the shooter). 50# and will be my deer seeking bow this year.

These weren't around when I got into traditional bowhunting back in the early 1980's. I've been shooting a 60lb Howatt Hunter that I paid $100 from a paper mail-order catalog called "Bowhunter's Discount Warehouse." Of course, the price of this bow has gone through the roof since then. One great feature, other than the overall quality, is that the Black Hunter is a takedown. Great for travel! Takedowns used to cost a lot more than one-piece bows. If I were a beginning traditional bowhunter today, I'd go with a Black Hunter.
If you head to walmart after bow season sometimes you can find carbon arrows on clearance for like 1$ a piece, razor the plastic fletchings off and put feathers on. Cheap, strong arrows. Cheap as the arrows I make myself and come with nocks and point inserts ready to go. Each arrow I make myself takes like an hour lmao
Just getting into archery, i looked at a lot of reviews on this bow black hunter recurve but the one that nailed it for me was survival Lilly, ive ordered off amazon its not here yet but i think the only think i got wrong was draw weight i ordered 40 after much humming and aring ,so will send it back for a thirty. As a beginner, the arrow info is a wilderness ,ive had a stab at some they too are coming from amazon 40 quid for 12 carbon arrows, there's much to learn but no mates into it but hey ho lifes a learning curve ,cant wait to get started.
Great bow,I have the mk2 longbow,shoot’s great,smooth draw.for the money it’s very hard to beat.please do a 62”version would be even smoother draw.I own some very expensive bows and this easily shoots as good if not better.I purchased mine direct from mandarin duck.great service
So who’s the real deal? I’ve heard of you, and Obertin (?). Then I see some with just numbers for a company, who obviously are copies or rebranded. Also, does the recurve use wood or bamboo?

A really good question, I would probably go for 600/500 Spine. there are a lot of factors here. Not just the grain of the arrow, but the weight, you're exact draw length and I know some Fletchers would even ask what bow you will shoot these arrows from. But 600/500 should be safe and then you can start to tailor the arrows to you and your bow
We made very slight changes to the limbs so it's easier and more affordable to change and replace limbs, but the riser grip is the same as mk1 so the feel is still as great 😁
@@mandarinduck456 took a couple shots yesterday at 45lbs and I’m impressed how fast it shot and how powerful it felt. I plan on getting stronger limbs when I get stronger and actually hunt something.👍🏽👍🏽
No, in video it is MK 1 with fancy shape of the limb's ends. You can recognise MK 2 by its right angles of the limbs ends, so you can even swap bottom and upper limbs.

Mine is on the way in green riser.bought it with cheap Chinese arrows 21 bucks for a dozen yesterday,today they went up to 42

It has a bamboo core for the limbs. The riser design itself is an old design that we made alterations to make something special.

There is very little difference. Both versions shoot very smooth and great accuracy

What would be the recommended arrow spine for the 45# longbow 28.5" draw with 225 grains up front
A really good question, I would probably go for 600/500 Spine. there are a lot of factors here. I shoot 400 spine with 250 up front and they fly perfect from my #45 BH longbow

The limbs on those bows would CONSTANTLY delaminate. If you get one buy from an American distributor, not Mandarin Duck.

Mate its the samme bow no matter who distribute them. They all are made to samme spec and with samme materials. Then sendt to the distributers.
