On August 9, I flew British Airways from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport to London Heathrow Airport. This was the first leg on my European trip that included flights on Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Lufthansa, SAS, and Air Greenland! I can't wait to upload those videos soon...
Anyways, British Airways economy product is hit-or-miss in my opinion. When I tried their premium economy product in April, it had some upsides and downsides.

The spotting at JFK was awesome!
I have not flown on British Airways, but had been on 747-400s with Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, China Airlines, Malaysia Air, and China Easters. All were great in-flight experiences.

I agree. Have flown this route several times over the past few years and I love the BA 747s. There is just something majestic about them; the B777 just isn’t the same.

I’m going on a flight from London to New York 747 British Airways Economy and I have never been on British so I immediately went to you and surprisingly you made a video about it yesterday.
Yes mine too. Travelled from Jamaica to London, sat upstairs.
Brilliant 9.5 hrs.
Looks a lot better inside than when I went down to Miami on one of there 747-400’s in premium economy the seat was mainly held together with tape !

Love this video 😁 I’m looking into London to NYC for March 2021 & taking my parents & brother. I’ve never been & my parents have never been and I want them to experience it at least once in a lifetime. It’s gonna be expensive (may need a little loan) lol but it’ll be worth it 🙂🙏🏼

That’s nice that this BA 747 had the USB port in the IFE. I flew Miami to London in Sept 2019 and no USB at all on the plane in economy. IFE was dated af too. I mean yeah. It’s an older plane but it sucked not being able to charge my phone lol
And the WiFi was down or just non existent lol

xr6lad you say this as if it’s a bad thing. Everyone wants to relax and try to get some sleep on an overnight flight, especially the passengers. You get your meal quick and then can go to sleep. It’s a win win.

i had lunch at moes southwest grill in dallas love field also in omaha got to park in the new and spacious north garage the only problem is its away from the terminal and have to walk more compared to the old south garage
its better than traveling on the oceanliner on this route back in 1915 when the Lusitania was shot by torpedo by German U 22 as it approach Ireland.

Why do the Airport Companies always park the British Airways 747's away from the terminals? I see this regularly at Cape Town International Airport when BA43 arrives. These "Old Ladies - Cabin Crew Included" of the Skies should receive preferential treatment!
I flew by BA a few times as it was a straight flight to my country. The other one sold out. Very uncomfortable food appalling plane dirty. I prebooked vegetarian diet I was given rice porridge with pork and when I mentioned it I was told thats all they had.It was a long haul flight too. Appalling sevice

Yes, they`re awesome aircraft! British Airways still operates 34 of the 747-400`s and plans to retire these in phases by February 2024.

Most deffo! That sound (of the APU) that you hear when you're on the airbridge near the door is such an exciting thing! it makes my tummy butterflies jump...if that makes any sense?! Nothing like it, and only really works with a 747 don't you think?
There's certain emergency motor operation in the jet engine that allows to power the 747, otherwise there will not have power.

In late 1996 my family and I flew from Heathrow to Santiago de Chile in a brand new 747-400, also on British Airways. It would be too much of a coincidence if that plane was still around...
i got the tail numbers of the plane from flightradar and planespotters helped me thats because southwest airlines has the same flight number from previous flights and tracked it coming in all my flights arrived early

london tour reminds me of when I was there....way back in the 80s..during my 2 week reserve tour at RAF Mildenhall
British Airways have just annouced that these classic planes are to be retired from their fleet. Now I will have to go to Lufthansa for a chance to fly on them.

Your footage of the London Bridge and Thames River, and the castle are well put together. The music is a nice touch as well. I was in London for about 5 days in May 2019 and loved it. Amazing views, and different than America. I also flew with British Airways, and thought they did a nice job. I'd love to go back to Europe one day, and your videos give me a glimpse of traveling, which is nice. Keep up the good work 👍
Some very watchable camera work.. but the music was abysmal. It must be my age or something but otherwise good videos are murdered by “music”. It’s a shame but spoiled it for me and had to shut it down.

Cool video. I have done the SFO-LHR route several times on BA, and to your point, it was very hit-or-miss. When they were still flying the 747-400's, it was mostly a miss in Economy. However, since the A380's came online for that route, it was a definite hit for me--I paid a little more and always got one of the aisle and window seat pairs in the last couple of rows on the upper deck.
Looks like you really enjoyed the flight. So lucky!

I flew to Florida from Gatwick in the summer on a Virgin 747 (economy), frankly, it looked pretty much identical to BA. You get a seat, you get some food, you get some entertainment on a small screen in front of you, it takes hours.
